I will cheer for all the players who are participating today, just like I did yesterday. It has been four years since I started ballet at the age of 52. Imagining the efforts I would have made to go to Lausanne, Switzerland.😊 How much effort was needed. I want to applaud the passion of all the players who are there now.💕
If I could dance a little like that, I would never ever remember the steps or the choreo…. They get shown the routine and bam they can do that! That’s so amazing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Major appreciation for 208. Not only did he do the most ambitious solo, but the coaching session was intense to watch as an English speaker. I can't imagine how difficult it was to do that through a translator.
It was great to go to ballet class today knowing what can become of my training. I am an adult beginner so I probably will never reach the level of the participants, but it is sooo inspiring and I am cheering for all of them. They are so graceful and amazing ❤
As a former contemporary/modern dancer, I always love watching the girls who are still trying to learn the intricacies of contemporary. It's similar enough to ballet to where you still use the same terminology, but just different enough to where the people who don't fully understand can get lost/confused. These girls who are still learning contemporary are improving so well in such a fast time line.
Hi @cheriestolze, no, they will all be marked by the jury until Thursday, then all day Friday, the finalists will be selected and announced in studio 1 at 7.15pm. 20 dancers will be selected.
maybe as an outsider i dont understand the world of ballet, but that lady/teacher in the blue button down shirt looks like intimidating those girls really does something for her
She is giving them helpful corrections and is not harsh at all. If they are intimidated then more likely by the jury watching and marking them. This group is the older one, they are all close in age to getting professional engagements.
what? She might be strict and criticizing a lot but that is her job. She is very approachable and actually joking a little in between and communicating at eye level with the students.
She's very relaxed and understanding, and knows what she wants. She rarely corrects a specific dancer, although she may notice something in a specific dancer and be responding to that. This is different from most ballet classes, and means everyone should perhaps make an adjustment, so you will see many of the dancers responding to the correction. Her classes don't have extraordinarily difficult exercises, so they are do-able by everyone. A brilliant teacher. Being able to have her for these classes is one of the highlights for candidates: a treat.

Les candidats de la Corée du Sud ont vraiment une technique parfaite, il y a beaucoup de travail.
In that class, every second is competition. So brutal beauty.

Edit: she's #304!
You forgot Amber. She was also at the Prix. Just during Pandemic.
she looks nervous, falling out of every single pirouette when she usually turns for days 😢
Yess, great isn’t it 🥰
I love how she does more turns in the pirouettes than the others 🤣🤣🤣
I love that the girls are allowed to wear their favourite leotards! Such a colorful group. They are all amazing 🤩 I root for Melanie, No. 304 ❤
