    I could not do that in 10 days, let alone 10 minutes! Oh my, how beautiful the painting is. I love your style of explaining as you go, and appreciate your incredible talent so very much. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge!!!

    The fact your we’re able to build up that amount of depth in the time is amazing. It helped seeing some of these shortcuts you use: working smarter not harder. I’m sure it pays to be speedy when you paint open air. The contrast is really cool and it really captures why people love fall foliage so much.

    Hi!
    You 10 minute paintings are wonderful tutorials, & the use of BASICS primaries is perfect for anyone learning to paint. The 10 minutes is a perfect amount of time to watch & do, especially for newbies & even young kids!
    These are likely going to take more like an hour for those learning, yet that's what the pause button is for?
    I love seeing the techniques & the explanations of them. These help us learn from each other, communicate & teach others too!
    These are absolutely wonderful for 10 minute paintings, and are encouraging for anyone new to acrylic painting!
    I love those "Magic Moments" when acrylics come together, and the look on those new, especially kids, when they do it themselves & it pops! (I love it when it works out for me too! )
    Thanks! These are great!!!

    This painting is awesome Ryan . I have just fallen in love with your paintings. You are the best teacher I ever had the way you teach us about various colours and contrasts it really helps. And in this painting the yellow is so vibrant . And you know Ryan I will try painting this today. Hope it comes out well. And if it does I really want to show it you. You can tell me my flaws. Keep making more videos . Love them all.

    I painted a fall it really came out good. Yet I know it's not finished and I haven't touched it for a several weeks. I find that working with yellows takes so many layers but what you said about letting it dry helps. Thank you!

      I'm very happy to hear it! Yellow is generally a more transparent color, adding white to it can also really help thicken the pigment.

    Thank you! It's gorgeous! Did you mix the yellow and red you had to make the orange leaves? Did you mix colors to make your green, too?

    • @RyanORourkeArtist
      @RyanORourkeArtist  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For the orange leaves I mixed two parts yellow with one part red. Red is generally a much stronger color, so you should probibly use more yellow when mixing the two. In regards to the green, that is a mixture of yellow and blue (which made a very saturated green) so I mixed some grey in to desaturate it :) I hope that helps!

      What brand of acrylic paint is used in your paintings?

    • @RyanORourkeArtist

      I like to use Liquitex BASICS acrylics. I find that they have a fantastic consistency and they are fairly affordable. In regards to water color, I don't really have an affinity for working with the medium. However, beautiful things can definitely be completed with them. They just aren't for me :)

    Hello, before starting to paint, what did you put on your canvas? What type of paper would best fit for this? Thank you! Stéphanie, an acrylic beginner!

    • @RyanORourkeArtist
      @RyanORourkeArtist  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there Stephanie! I like to keep these as simple as possible so i don't add anything to the canvas before hand. I also don't personally love painting on paper, canvas is definitely my preferred option. With that said, some people do render some pretty amazing pieces on paper so experiment and try to find what you personally like. With that said, I do try to keep my brush slightly damp for all of the large blends and that helps the blending process a lot. Just try to keep your brush dry when you're working on the foliage. Water condenses the bristles of the brush and you want them to be flared out for the tapping effect. Hope that helps!

    • @stephaniefrancois2714
      @stephaniefrancois2714 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RyanORourkeArtist hey! Thanks for the detailled response. As I am just starting with painting, I don't work (yet) on canvas 😉. But I find the 300 g/m2 or 140 lb too thick and I use sooo much paint. So I was curious if ot was me not putting enoygh water or if I should rake a thinner paper. I'll try different options! Thanks again xxx

  • @colenkho1
    @colenkho1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Ryan I have seen few of your painting in you tube I like your Technic simple but good will you please let me know what sort of the brushes you are using for the foliage and the grass thanks for your attention. GBU

    • @RyanORourkeArtist
      @RyanORourkeArtist  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm using an old square headed/flat headed brush. The bristles are broken and leaf off in varying directions. Due to the inconsistencies in the brush when you make a tapping motion with it your brush should render a myriad of different implications.
