Hi Dave, as always a clear & honest view of a product produced by a large multinational company to celebrate 75 years of their experience and knowledge to produce their celebration wax. In the UK we have a small two man company that have just celebrated two years and their products blow this away. Top video, top channel, always honest👍
Turtle wax are just mass produced products. Garage Therapy has to make good products or they would disappear👍 Personally I don’t think any spray sealants or wax would last longer than one month Ceramic coatings are the best or if you enjoy polishing you’re car once a month go with a wax 👍
@@nickaf5262 I would suggest trying some of their range . I'm a mere weekend warrior but their products are by far the best products I've used , maybe ever . I get why others suggest using full ceramic coatings but if your on a budget , or like me you own a older car ( 16years old ) you maybe don't have a few hundred to spend on it . I do enjoy tinkering with it , gets me time away from the Mrs too which is always a bonus
As with what Martin's been doing its great getting real time updates on how something is working over just how it goes on and looks after. I've been stung in the distant past in this way by just finished looks
Good honest test Bit of a let down with all of the development cash and access to chemicals that turtle wax would have Makes you think they are trying to sell a cheap wax for a high price based purely on the merits of the 75th anversary and the supposed graphine content Switching the lids to unsigned plain ones too no idea why they did that can't save much and takes the special edition collecting aspect out of the equation Pick any of the soft 99 paste waxes for £20 and this is instantly defeated You don't even have to put the extra tenner in and break out the fusso coat😄
Great vid mate. One thing I’ve noticed is that using a pressure washer at close distance wears down coatings a lot faster if you’re really blasting the surface, using a softer “beam” or lower pressure is easier on the coating
I bought a jar of this wax on 14 June '21 and applied it that day after washing and drying the car. At this stage let me say that in the recent past I've used Turtle Wax Liquid infused with Carnauba Wax, Fusso Soft 99, Gerlutz No.1 Brazilian Carnauba Guitar Wax, Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax Polymer Paste and Auto Glym Liquid Polish. I've found all of these to put an excellent "skin" on the paintwork with varying degrees of effort to apply and buff on overcast days. Water beading qualities of these products is generally excellent but there is inevitably some tail off after 2 or 3 months but as someone who regularly washes the car and applies products like these I'm not too bothered as to whether beading lasts for a claimed 12 months which is marketing hype I think on certain products. If a car owner can't or doesn't care to polish or wax their vehicle more than once every 12 months, then I reckon they're not going to bother outlaying on relatively expensive products like these anyway! It's too soon for me to know how this Turtle Wax Graphene/Ceramic Paste will bead and protect my car's paintwork but I can report that it is supremely economic in use, is so easy to apply, leaves no white residue on vinyl trim, is not car colour specific and buffs to a gloriously deep shine with less effort than the other products I've mentioned above. I'm glad I invested in a jar of this product because there are benefits other than whether its water beading qualities begin to fade after 2 or 3 months. A very interesting video which I enjoyed watching. Dave in Edinburgh, Scotland.
James hi, I've found this whole wax/ polish thing quite interesting. The Turtle wax graphine ceramic paste is still my go to paintwork protector and shiner. Water beading goes on for months. The beads of water can often be of different sizes depending on rainfall intensity and wind factor. Pure carnauba wax for example seems to produce a myriad of very small droplets. I don't think any of that matters though as clearly the rainwater, which I believe can be very mildly acidic, is not being allowed to penetrate the paint or clearcoat finish. I look at the roof areas of parked cars following rainfall if I'm out and about and I'd say that around 95 per cent of vehicles show zero signs of paintwork protection observing that water lies flat and unbeaded. I suppose for example that most company car drivers may not care to spend or waste time on an asset which they do not actually own. I get that, but for me, and those like me who value their cars and are proud to have it looking good, these high value waxes and polishes are worth the investment. Just some thoughts really. Dave.
This is why we come here, honest reviews! 👍 Too many "reviews" of these TW products are paid for/sponsored. I know TH-camrs need to make money but don't rip off your viewers/subscribers by saying products are fantastic just because the manufacturer has bunged you a few quid. 🙄
As far as I know only Pan and Forensic got paid sponsorship. But it is possible that there is more. These guys have to strike the balance as TH-cam is their full time occupation now for them both.
@@DetailingandtheBeast I was surprised how open Jon was in his paid reviews, they weren't the one sided reviews they could have been. The other one switches best product to who paid last. For some reason didn't coat his Porsche in Avalon .....
That is poor after 2 months given all the hype when this wax was released. I bought this but have not used it yet. Not sure if I will now...This real life testing is so useful. Good vid Dave
Great review.....thats what we need to see an everyday car used in real world terms....not ones that are pampered and garaged every night!.....this is the sort of review that helps me to decide what to use on customers cars...thank you!
Dave , this is exactly what we have spoken about. When they make these wild 6-12 month claims, do theyean we applied it,parked a car in a garage and it lasted 12 months. Do they mean we estimate after a few days testing it will last 12 months, or do they genuinely not have a clue because the technology toakenthe product is younger than 12 months and there fore the 12 month estimate cannot have been tested and it's a wild guess. Glad you did this, because quite frankly that wax is worse than a show wax in reality. It's as flat as the beer down my local. 😢
I used this 3 months ago on my wife’s car which is the same colour as your pick-up. It looked great first on, and after I washed it last week it still looked great, but the water beading wasn’t anything to write home about.
Great review and totally unbiased 👍 I’d say it was so good initially and was so well priced that as an enthusiast I’d stick by the turtle wax and apply another coating . After all there is plenty left in the tub
Thanks for taking the time to do this real world review. Its so interesting to see such differences between the same products tested thoroughly by influencers, obviously with many differing variables. Part of me feels that the bigger companies must surely have so much more R&D than the smaller guys to get superior products (and spend a lot more on advertisement etc), however results like this contradict this. Great content and best wishes.
Great video. how would you use this in combination with Turtle Wax's Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating. Would you use this one as a topper to the HS Spray Coating? or this one as a base and then top it with the HS Spray Coating?
I am embarrassed I first watched Pan when getting into detailing during Covid. It didn't take long to realize I was being played. Can't believe he got called out and then was arrogant enough to show off new Porsche.
Hi Dave, new to your channel and glad I've watched this. I have been tempted so many time to buy this stuff but thankfully its been out of stock in the UK. Your video has made my mind up. Ill keep my £30 for something else. Thanks
Has got amazing gloss and slickness thought amazing gloss and slickness so you can top up after 2 3 weeks with flex wax spray wax and you will be socked. Try to wax the car if you can and if the weather allows every 3 4 weeks and on the second application top up with flex wax flex wax turtle wax
Can you suggest anything for exterior shining glossy piano black plastic trims(left and right side of windshield A pillar). And for door visors as well... Thank you
Oh you got that vibe too. 😂👏 My 2nd graphene wax, and longevity has been sub-standard on both. Initially I was very impressed, it was easy on/off, smells good, made the car shine like some of the best, chemically bulletproof, great dirt repellency. It really did tick all the boxes! But in real life, on a car that's used, it has let itself down. I dont know if it's the weather, the road conditions, or just being outdoors. But it's kind of disappointing.
@@DetailingandtheBeast It is the same with their graphene flex wax. Excellent shine, chemical resistance, slickness, and water behavior...but after 1.5 months the wax is almost dead.
Didn't expect it to fade away so quickly after how it performed in your chemical resistance testing... Shows what effect time has on these products! Great update. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
To be fair, TW never published a longevity claim, because they said it wasnt around long enough to test. But they guessed at 12 months. It was others who jumped onto that statement. When asked directly about the sprayable Flex Wax longevity, they said "well if you apply it every week it will last forever".... 😂🙄
@@DetailingandtheBeast that's along the same lines as 'lasts up to 12 months'... "it failed after 6 weeks", "well yes, sir, but that is still UP TO 6 months" 😂
It's beginning to occur to me that this wax is apparently more of a show wax than a long term type sealant such as It's cousins MAX wax and FLEX. That being said, imho natural waxes are more for show than the longevity and protection of the synthetics. I have a Tornado Red GTI (flat paint) that for my eyes looks best (richer-deeper) with Carnuba/Carnuba based applications. However, it doesn't last as long but for me that's ok - I'm willing to accept that more frequent applications are what it takes. 2 things: A GTI doesn't exactly have a lot of sheetmetal and applications of Carnuba's on properly prepped paint with solid synthetic base layers keeps the natural waxes adhered just that much better... cheers!
@@audieconrad8995 Bead Locker is great because it crosslink with itself, which has been shown to work well over wax. Also very easy to apply, spray and buff...
Was this applied to virgin paint, clayed, polished stripped? I use this and it lasted all year with maintenance such as ceramic shampoo and detail periodically
That looks pretty poor in terms of water behavior, i think this latest 'graphene' fashion is a load of rubbish, i dont think they offer anything over a ceramic infused product, im my experience. You can't beat dsw, in2detailing ceramic wax, fusso, sw armour for price/durability
Had the exact same result on my car here in the Southern U.S. Gonna compound off whatever’s remaining on the car this week and put a quality product on. Very disappointing product. Wasted 35 US dollars on this one
Great follow up mate. Very surprised by the quick drop off with the wax. Would have expected much more. I've got EZ extreme ceramic on the wife's car and that is putting the turtle wax to shame. 👍
Great job thanks for your content. Question? What would happen if you used the hybrid solution 3 in 1 detailer now? Would it reinvigorate the paste wax at all???
There's no rejuvenating at that point. However, Turtle Wax recommend using the Glen wax (the spray one) after every (or every other) wash to build up a sacrificial layer on top of the paste wax.
I was beginning to believe the hype on Graphene and looked impressed with 303 graphene until I watched a video recently and it didn't hold up but I was warned about it by Daisi's Garage You Tube channel. The turtle wax was out of stock when I tried to buy it so I am glad it was after watching this film. I took delivery of GT Three sealant and Two Sigma and QD yesterday so looking forward to joining the revolution on their fabulous by all accounts offering. Thanks for saving me some cash.
100% not. Check out my first video when I torture tested this wax. It took an absolute hammering from all sorts and survived. I was super impressed by that test panel.
i still use carnauba wax as primary wax then top it with another wax Ceramic wax then spray wax with graphene. I find carnauba wax really hard and reinforced with ceramic and graphene for water beading
If this is an every day driver, looking at how little dirt was on the car it was washed in those last two months and likely recently, how many times and with what products? Without knowing this, it is difficult to know what the durability is. I'm going to apply this product this weekend on a Torred challenger after it has been polished with CarPro Essence and then I will apply a topper as part of its weekly maintenance ( probably bead maker or one of the detailers/spray product offered by TW) and see what it looks like when the car is ready to be prepped back for storage in October. Thanks Dave and thumbs up as usual!
All the wash products are detailed in the video, but this has had three washes in 2 months, first two with just a pure shampoo, this latest required a Citrus prewash (autobrite citrus wash at 10:1 dilution) and again the pure shampoo. The same shampoo as we used in the initial resistance testing.
@@DetailingandtheBeast Thanks Dave. Car looked like it only saw a bit of dirty rain and sooth fallout. Definitely will be interesting to see if this short life span is seen across various applications. Besides the water repellent issues, what is the gloss enhancement like ? Gone? Decent? barely visible? (it is difficult to judge on a video with a white car). Thanks for the awesome content.
For me (only because I have it) old formula Soft99 Fusso. Other than that a Ceramic wax from in2detailing, Bilt Hamber double speed, or even the EZ ceramic wax, are all good for longevity.
@@DetailingandtheBeast I see there are several versions of soft99 Fuso online, a lighter version and dark version . Which one you like better? I have a black Accord. Thanks
There is very little difference. But I personally use the dark one. It's the older formula you want, so make sure if doesnt reference "new formula". The older one is more resilient.
Yeah, not videod though, it's easy to use. Lasts longer as a spray and buff, rather than spray and rinse. I've seen a good 3 months off of it at least.
@@DetailingandtheBeast 3.monthd for a UK weather is pretty amazing so if you can you it 4 5 times per year you are fine. What do you recommend? Clean carclay bar the car and the turtle wax paste wax and if you want a topper yo. Use the flex wax (graphene spray wax) or first the flex wax and then the turtle wax graphene and ceramic past wax? In which order?
Great video Dave. Another product with lot of hype and some initial great results. After seeing this and recently using Infinity Wax qdx Graphene I'm not sold on it all. I'll stock with SW Armour and Garage Therapy I think. Nothing else is coming close for me
Interesting comment about the QDX-G that's one that got splattered around TH-cam without any longer term testing. I'm slowly losing all faith in these Graphene products. They are all using the same dispersion from AGM anyway, so there is little between them all.
I'm not saying it's bad, because initially and for the first few weeks I've been impressed, it just seems to have starting to die off all of a sudden. If you are willing to redo it every couple / few months it's still worth a look.
Its strange how some show it only lasting a month or two and some at 16 weeks. Just goes to show how differing locations can affect it. I personally feel these are better for boats . Especially when you get fish blood everywhere. Most people wash their boats real quick after and this makes the blood slide right out then spray with the flex and rinse again.
Real world car, not loved, and not in a "harsh" environment (middle of UK). I'd say its a pretty average test mule. 😉 And your fish boats covered in blood.... grim 🤢🤣🤣🤣
I take any product longevity claims with a pinch of salt. For me, I'd definitely be reapplying something to that car. Saying that 12 months protection is the absolute max I'd want out of a product
Agreed, totally, and being honest I wouldnt expect 12 either. My initial off the record guess would have been anywhere between 5 and 6 months. Companies do need to stop with the wild claims though. More and more I'm finding things written on labels that simply arent true (not the case in this instance, as nothing is on the label).
I've never taken longevity claims as gospel either. I've been working on cars for 40 years mechanically and appearance wise. NuFinish has been around since Moses parted the Red Sea marketing itself as "the once a year car polish." I used it once and it missed the one year mark by about 50 weeks. I bought this paste and the Flex spray just to try. As a paste wax, it's most definitely the easiest on / easiest off I've ever used. Viewing it as a paste wax and not a straight graphene or ceramic coating, I'm ok if it only lasts two months because no matter what I've ever used, I've always waxed my vehicles every 6 to 8 weeks. It's something I still enjoy doing. Maybe when I get tired of hand waxing, I'll go to a straight ceramic or graphene coating.
I'm not so worried about beading / sheeting as I am wondering how road grime, brake dust / iron stuck to it after washing. That's the real question for me.
If you take a look at the Week 1 and Week 2 update vids, you'll see the dirt repellency is excellent! In fact even the last maintenance wash, at the (roughly) 5 week mark, was still very good. No prewash chemicals needed at all - just jet off and wash! This time, it was very different. Dirt stuck fast, so prewashig with a Citrus wash at 10:1 was needed before the contact wash. The performance dropped off quick!
@@DetailingandtheBeast thank you for the feed back . Still on the fence when it comes to graphene. Its pretty early in the game . Unless you constantly use a topper after each wash what's the point. Kind of the same with ceramics. Think toppers are pushed just to keep the beading going to make customers happy.
@@DetailingandtheBeast yuppers. Thus I don't push ceramic on my customers. Alot of work and hence a need to charge people alot nit to mention telling them I would need their vehicle for a couple of days and then tell them about the maintenance that would/ should be performed . Thanks again for your feedback and have a wonderful day.
I like this wax, but for all out longevity, you won't beat a coat of fusso. I also top my fusso with Kiwami (leaving a day between the coats). I did a winter prep video showing this exact combo. 👍
For longevity, there really isn't any competition to Soft99 Fusso coat. For straight out gloss, I have a beautiful Mitchell and King 1 of 4 Life Wax. But it only lasts a matter of weeks.
@@DetailingandtheBeast bro coming back to this video I’m 100% sure it’s a topper wax. Regardless of what Turtle Wax says when compared to other waxes this has more gloss than others but it doesn’t have the durability at all. At least not without a stronger base to sit on top of. The test I ran on this the wax it didn’t last a month on its own. On top of the Flex Wax it last a little longer. But after decon washes it helps the but this wax gets clogged rather quick. Leading me to believe the wax just isn’t designed to last more than 21-30 days even on a base. I ran these test on panels upstate NY just sitting outside and even your results here are similar. Just my thoughts on the wax.
It’s lost its buzz but will probably hang around like that for a few more months, that’s the problem with long term protection for enthusiasts isn’t it, we always want that initial top performance so end up applying something new regularly anyway
I remember a conversation with Turtle Wax directly about the new Flex Wax - when asked about longevity, the answer was "well, if you apply it every week, it will last forever".... well yeah obviously!
Am about 2wks behind timewise on the 303 version that is on a customer Pearl White BMW 116... Had first wash last week and looked dead on initial rinse, but sprung back to life after the wash (GTOne) and even beading decent on the flat panels like the roof... Hard to criticise the Graphine on the TW as there is so much else going on in the pot... Ceramic, blend of 10 waxes...
@@DetailingandtheBeast yeah "let's stick it all in a mixing bowl and see what happens" approach... 😳 The small 2yr old UK based company take a much simpler approach with proper results 😉
@@DetailingandtheBeast have one still full. The smell was so chemical, but the long lasting effect and easy removing process was so great for the price... Sealants are so expensive and sometimes not so easy to apply
Thank you! Totally agree, it's never going to last 12 months. To be fair I didnt honestly expect it to, but maybe 6 at least would have been nice. No chance...
Me too, dont get me wrong, initially this stuff is amazing! Ticks all the boxes. But two months just isnt long enough for me. I need something that lasts about double that to be honest, especially with the effort of hand waxing. For me it's still (old) Fusso being the one to beat. DSW is another good choice though 👍
Slightly disappointing. My family-wagon / work-holdall Honda FRV is still beading well and sheeting water off fast after each wash for the last 6 weeks, after applying Poorboys Nattys Red paste wax, which was a bit less than half the price of the TW.
🤣 You really have fallen for their system haven't you! You shouldn't have to "maintain" a Wax by using a sealant after EVERY wash. I was privy to the TW private launch event for Flex, and there were no details on longevity, so I asked their scientists live at the event... his answer.... "It will last forever.. if you use it every week". He isn't wrong but he also isn't correct. 🤣 There ARE waxes on the market that last longer than this, are cheaper than this, and "require" no "maintenance" top up products.
Couldn't fault it up to now. The week 1 and 2 videos showed excellent performance and dirt repellency. Even the week 5 wash (unvideod) was good, very little degradation. All done without the need for prewash up to that point. Then came this one, seems to have dropped right off, not dead, but not good either...
@@DetailingandtheBeast lingering surfactants from the Shampoo maybe? Could also be anything environmental, you just never know. I'm putting it up against some heavy hitter waxes once I pull my finger out 🤦🏻♂️
Simplewax Suds mate, the most free rinsing shampoo I've ever had the pleasure of using, same shampoo as used in the initial torture tests, and the first two maintenance washes. Cant be bonding either, its lasted two months up to now with no problem. Something in it has degraded to the point of it now tailing off fast.
Glad I've got you both here 😉. I'm currently using the bilt hamber stuff, works well for me and great price. Mr McSporran I watched your video also of the 75 anaversery stuff, and although you didn't mention bilt hamber as a worthy winner/ runner up. Its only £15
Glad I didn't buy it, it would have costed me a arm and a leg here in Australia. I'll just stick to soft99 fusso. Unbeatable in all aspects of conditions. Cheers mate👍
So I'm guessing Fusso 99 has worked out well for you? I was going to try some but had a bunch of people saying don't touch it because there is zero wax in it and it's just a jar of chemicals. Is it actually a wax or synthetic Polymers? I don't mind either. I would just rather base coat the synthetic products and top them with actual wax.
Oh dear that is very disappointing 😞 I've bought and used this on my own car, which is parked outside all the time. We've had some really cold frosty nights and bright sunny days over the last month so maybe thats what affected the wax???
@@DetailingandtheBeast If this wax is failing like this in the UK, imagine how quickly it will melt in the scorching heat and sun of the Southern belt of the United States. Very interested in how this product reviews over the American summer. so much of it out there.
It is definitely still there, just very very poor now. It rained overnight and the car is perfectly clean now after yesterday, the beading is sporadic, and non-uniform. Pooling on the roof even.
I’m about a week behind you 6 days infact must say mines quite a bit better than that still at last check last week wash 6 for mine nothing added I’ll film mine if I can get to clean it 2moro
This has done just below average mileage, probably around 60-80 a week at the minute. Mainly country lanes and b roads. Was much better a few week back, not so great now. Displaying the same behaviour on the roof, and the boot lid isnt great either.
@@DetailingandtheBeast that’s mad I’m doing about 250 miles most weeks working in it and so on I’ll take a video and send it you next time I get chance to wash the car tbh
One thing I don’t quite understand is why these testers choose to not touch their vehicles over several months or more. Is this the real test of a product’s durability? Why not simply rinse once or twice a week, and then maybe a shampoo bath once a week or so? Personally speaking, I would NEVER allow dirt/grime/💩 to build up on my car--not for a few days let alone weeks or months; not even if my car was a junkster. My philosophy is this: the easiest way to keep a car spotless is to maintain it…daily. The damage done to a car by allowing crap to sit on it , for any reason at all or for any period of time at all, cannot be underestimated. I suppose I can appreciate why he chose to not touch this car as part of the test; however, my point is still valid. The real test of a product’s durability is how it holds up in the real world. And in my world, my car would NEVER see more than a day w/o a waterless Detailing wipe down, a several times weekly rinse, and once every week or two shampoo. Haven applied this product almost 3 months ago, and then TW Flex a day after, I can tell you they’re both fantastic.
Why? Simple... Because people in the real world dont wash their car daily.... you are seriously misguided if you think Turtle Wax customers wash their car any more than once a week, maybe even once every couple of weeks. This car was NOT left for "several months or more", my video explains when and how this car has been washed. I think ultimately you have a point about leaving dirt and in particular salts sitting on cars protection. It in reality, that is the world we live in, people have more important duties than washing a car daily.
🤣 You've been "suckered" by marketing my friend. Yes, you "can" use toppers on products to extend their life, but.... Do not be fooled by marketing. You should not have to use a mandatory topper product. Take something like Fusso coat by Soft99, in the same price category and product type. That will last 9 months easily without any maintenance at all and no separate toppers.
@DetailingandtheBeast LOL. actually, they don't market it that way at all. It's just a suggestion passed on from somewhere else. Anyway, I'm finding the TW products better than the Mother's products in terms of longevity. 6 months or so. Mother's, sheesh marketing and multiple stages. Thanks for the tip on the other wax. I'll see if I can get it.
Dave, a few weeks ago I had detailed my Mercedes E class using the TW ceramic, graphene, paste wax, and washed the car one week later and applied TW graphene flex spray wax as a topper. This was the recommendation given to me by the folks at Turtle Wax here in the U.S. and Pan the Organizer. I have washed the car twice since then but it may be too early to make any comments about its durability at this time.
Now I have a problem with that... and here it is. You apply a wax that they claim lasts 12 months, yet a week later you are applying another product as a topper... I asked turtle wax about the Flex spray when we were on a zoom call and my question was "so, how long does this last?" Their answer (and this was a serious reply....) "well if you apply it every week, it will last forever." I mean you cant seriously believe that this is the way to treat the intellect of your customers. You've got to see that adding protection to a 12 month claimed wax, is to achieve that number by adding another product on a schedule. Pans videos are sponsored by TW to high heaven, and ultimately that content cant be 100% trusted. He will only tell you the good sides. But that's a whole separate topic of sponsorship vs content bias.
@@DetailingandtheBeast Hi best, huge respect for the transparency of your videos. I recently bought a 19 year old sports car and really want to protect the paint from UV fade ( but don't want to spend 800 pounds on a ceramic coating) Which wax/ any product do you recommend to best achieve this?
Without sounding disrespectful... you need to learn how to apply wax. Thin coat is correct, loads of wax is a waste (you remove more than remains!), and is more difficult to remove.
I'm not that impressed with this "pro graphene" line at all. Looking at the water behaviour, i definitely would want a top up on that. For the price of this wax, £30 rrp in the UK, paste waxes half the price can easily outlast this and look just as good on the panel. 2 months is OK, but halfords own brand spray wax can out last this for 1/5 the cost.
Hey just a heads up, the car wash your using is pretty average and has added polymers in it so its masking the wax and thats why it looks worse after a wash. You need a wash with no additives such as Carpro Reset and Meguiars Soft Wash Gel The wax will last longer and show more of its potential rather than being masked by that griots stuff
Once i had bilt-hamber dsw and fusso dead in a month or two. Own prepd car. I dont what haaoen. I know thoes waxes ond got 6mth+ out of them multiple times. Maybe this was yours weird one.
At last an honest youtube detailer. Turtle wax has always been shit lets be honest. Pan and other youtubers are selling out. You got a sub from me mate
Don’t use Citric wash. It will remove the wax. Also try to use TW flex wax as your base coat and then apply paste wax as 2nd coat. This last me 6 months 😊
Why? And dont give me rubbish about scratching the paint. At worse it would induce marring, but there are three facts here: 1.Too much dirt underneath for me to actually make contact with the paint. 2.This is a shitter of a car - no one cares about its paintwork 😂 3. I have my own detailing studio, so if I cared about it, I can fix it, quickly!

Don't be ridiculous
Yes, you are absolutely ri.... No, wait. What?
I agree, I’ve actually stopped washing my car with a pressure washer and have reverted back to the hose .
Yeah I apply it monthly
Any updates?
Don't expect any follow up reviews or complete reviews from Pan the Organiser anytime soon. Might hurt his revenue streams.
It's a difficult balance when new Porsches are involved 😂
@@DetailingandtheBeast I was surprised how open Jon was in his paid reviews, they weren't the one sided reviews they could have been. The other one switches best product to who paid last. For some reason didn't coat his Porsche in Avalon .....

I would say every 4 to 6 months to use an iron remover and then reapply like layering
Mine is still going strong, but I keep my car in the garage and don't drive it much when it rains.
Great job 🚘
Nice to hear your opinion on products and see the outcome 😎🏁🏁😀
Thanks for taking the time to do this real world review. Its so interesting to see such differences between the same products tested thoroughly by influencers, obviously with many differing variables. Part of me feels that the bigger companies must surely have so much more R&D than the smaller guys to get superior products (and spend a lot more on advertisement etc), however results like this contradict this. Great content and best wishes.

Point is..
It’s so easy to apply what’s the problem with waxing once every two months?
The point is its claimed to last near on SIX TIMES that! It's not about actual, it's about manufacturers over-claiming to sell products.

Spray over the top of the wax base would be how I'd do it.

More proof graphene is NOWHERE NEAR ready to be used in waxes/sealants/ceramics , brilliant testing Dave
Oh you got that vibe too. 😂👏
My 2nd graphene wax, and longevity has been sub-standard on both.
2 things: A GTI doesn't exactly have a lot of sheetmetal and applications of Carnuba's on properly prepped paint with solid synthetic base layers keeps the natural waxes adhered just that much better... cheers!
Same here. Only product that rivals wax on rich red paint for me is Blacklight sealant by Chem Brothers.

That looks pretty poor in terms of water behavior, i think this latest 'graphene' fashion is a load of rubbish, i dont think they offer anything over a ceramic infused product, im my experience.

Great follow up mate. Very surprised by the quick drop off with the wax. Would have expected much more. I've got EZ extreme ceramic on the wife's car and that is putting the turtle wax to shame. 👍
Thanks, yeah I was surprised by how much it went so quick. At the 5 week mark it was still good. Dropped off real fast.
Humm i just buy it but now iam asking if i should better to try Gyeon wax on top ceramic coating...
Try Angelwax The Fifth Element
I was beginning to believe the hype on Graphene and looked impressed with 303 graphene until I watched a video recently and it didn't hold up but I was warned about it by Daisi's Garage You Tube channel. The turtle wax was out of stock when I tried to buy it so I am glad it was after watching this film. I took delivery of GT Three sealant and Two Sigma and QD yesterday so looking forward to joining the revolution on their fabulous by all accounts offering. Thanks for saving me some cash.
You don't think you killed it with the pre wash solution you used? Citrus I think you said?
Thanks for the long effort on the video 😎 thanks a lot for saving us... now im gonna stick to the old turtle wax paste 😁
Great video Dave, I've got this sitting on my shelf waiting to go on my car. It will be interesting to see if I get the same results 🤔
I'm not saying it's bad, because initially and for the first few weeks I've been impressed, it just seems to have starting to die off all of a sudden. If you are willing to redo it every couple / few months it's still worth a look.
@@DetailingandtheBeast I’ve a week off work soon so I’ll do a full prep and correction and give it a go and see how it performs
And your fish boats covered in blood....
@@ronnymb67 "missed the mark by 50 weeks", 😂 that made me chuckle.
That is EXACTLY it. But that's not how they are sold 😉

For longevity, there really isn't any competition to Soft99 Fusso coat. For straight out gloss, I have a beautiful Mitchell and King 1 of 4 Life Wax. But it only lasts a matter of weeks.
Yeah I’m sure it’s only a topper. Meant to be used on top of the Flex Wax, it would seem this and the to the Max wax are short term products.
I'm sure it's not only a topper. In fact I guarantee it! I attended the official Turtle Wax closed launch event, with the chemists that made it.
@@DetailingandtheBeast I have it as well, I’m gonna say it’s best on top of the Flex Wax so far.

Slightly disappointing. My family-wagon / work-holdall Honda FRV is still beading well and sheeting water off fast after each wash for the last 6 weeks, after applying Poorboys Nattys Red paste wax, which was a bit less than half the price of the TW.
you forgot to do the maintenance after each wash with the graphene flex
🤣 You really have fallen for their system haven't you! You shouldn't have to "maintain" a Wax by using a sealant after EVERY wash.
I was privy to the TW private launch event for Flex, and there were no details on longevity, so I asked their scientists live at the event... his answer....
"It will last forever.. if you use it every week".
He isn't wrong but he also isn't correct. 🤣
There ARE waxes on the market that last longer than this, are cheaper than this, and "require" no "maintenance" top up products.
Well, I didn't expect that but there it is! I'll mention this video on my own test video 👍

Your meant to top up with TW Flex Wax
I asked turtle wax about the Flex spray when we were on a zoom call and my question was "so, how long does this last?"
Their answer (and this was a serious reply....) "well if you apply it every week, it will last forever."
I mean you cant seriously believe that this is the way to treat the intellect of your customers.

Without sounding disrespectful... you need to learn how to apply wax.
Thin coat is correct, loads of wax is a waste (you remove more than remains!), and is more difficult to remove.
@@DetailingandtheBeast regardless you did one coat on your darcia
I'm not that impressed with this "pro graphene" line at all. Looking at the water behaviour, i definitely would want a top up on that. For the price of this wax, £30 rrp in the UK, paste waxes half the price can easily outlast this and look just as good on the panel. 2 months is OK, but halfords own brand spray wax can out last this for 1/5 the cost.
Hey just a heads up, the car wash your using is pretty average and has added polymers in it so its masking the wax and thats why it looks worse after a wash.
You need a wash with no additives such as Carpro Reset and Meguiars Soft Wash Gel
The wax will last longer and show more of its potential rather than being masked by that griots stuff
It's no griots.... its Simplewax suds. As pure as you like.
It's a UK brand, look it up. 👍
@@DetailingandtheBeast ahh man im so sorry it went to the next video i meant to comment on something else 🤣🤣
Your results turned out great dont worry
Thanks Dave ,I will stick with my Neilsen nano wax 👍
Thanks was going to buy some but hell nah
Once i had bilt-hamber dsw and fusso dead in a month or two. Own prepd car.
I dont what haaoen.
I know thoes waxes ond got 6mth+ out of them multiple times.
Maybe this was yours weird one.
Real world testing is where it's at. This sure is a disappointing result, but tfs!
I apply it monthly
Very poor after all the hype! Luckily we have channels like this to sort the wheat from the chaff!!
I only report as I find. 😊
At last an honest youtube detailer. Turtle wax has always been shit lets be honest. Pan and other youtubers are selling out. You got a sub from me mate
i have detailer sprays that last longer...
I think we all do... 🤣
Once again turtle wax failed. Marketing can't compete with real world experience.
$30 for a can of wax, no thanks! I'll just stay with a $7 can of Meguiar's clean & shine.
Or even turtle wax dry and shine! £7 a bottle, is easier and faster to apply, and lasts longer! (Than this wax)
Thank you , was thinking to get some but NO THANKS turtle wax
😂 I take it that you aren't impressed
Don’t use Citric wash. It will remove the wax. Also try to use TW flex wax as your base coat and then apply paste wax as 2nd coat. This last me 6 months 😊
Its a paste wax
Yeah?
i cringed when you ran your finger across the dirty paint
Why? And dont give me rubbish about scratching the paint. At worse it would induce marring, but there are three facts here:
1.Too much dirt underneath for me to actually make contact with the paint.
2.This is a shitter of a car - no one cares about its paintwork 😂
3. I have my own detailing studio, so if I cared about it, I can fix it, quickly!
Bloody BSD is far better than this lol
BSD is one of them "freak" products that simply perform for not a lot of cash. Exactly the same as Fusso (old skool), and Turtle Wax Seal n Shine.
What’s BSD?
@@SpartanKyuubi sonnax brilliant shine detailer, its a qd/sealant.
Wooooow very disappointing !!!
Not impressive at all.
Turtle Wax Ceramic & Graphene Wax IS JUNK
I was tempted to buy some glad I never now
Graphine products just seem like the latest sales gimmic
Now I can spend that money on some garage therapy products ocd seems to love them which is good enough for me
