In addition to the shopping and watching the Falcons lose, Georgia fans also watched Oregon beat UCLA and are very pleased at the Duck domination that is occurring in the Pac-12 for several reasons. Even if it means having to cheer for Bo Nix.

They always do it on a bye week ,it's the best weather you get in the fall in October and it's not as hot .it's the only time you could stand to wear a tux outside in georgia

When else do you schedule a fall wedding in a major football university town but the bye week?
My wife and I were married on the UGA bye week in 2017...as a Southerner, regardless of your school choices, you have to schedule these things properly.
That’s very southern.
In Alabama there are no weddings on Iron Bowl Saturday. One time in the late 1980’s in Huntsville, Alabama I ran into my best friend - a woman from St. Louis - and her fiancé from Decatur, Alabama (by then also my good friend) out shopping in February. She was obviously very joyous and barely said, “Tell Brooke the good news.” He said, “I proposed, and she said ‘yes.’”
I asked if they’d picked a date. She had calmed a bit and proceeded to tell me it’d be the Saturday after Thanksgiving so it would be a convenient long weekend for all her St. Louis and Chicago relatives. I didn’t have the heart to tell her. I looked at him and calmly said, “No one will come.” His eyes got big with realization, and she looked extremely perplexed. He turned to her and said, “[Her Name], we have to talk.” I took my leave.
They worked it out to the Saturday before Thanksgiving, which a lot of her relatives liked because it didn’t interfere with the Thanksgiving end of the week. I was the first and last to hear the initial planned date so we’ll never know if any would have preferred Iron Bowl Saturday after Thanksgiving.
