Finally we decided to proceed with generating a Passport for Moksha. We are planning an abroad trip to Dubai in the upcoming months and this is a necessary document to proceed further.
This video will cover the steps involved in obtaining a passport for Minor in my real case scenarios. All my snapshots are added to provide a crisp information to proceed further for your child’s passport.

Is it fine if spouse name is added in Mother's passport or is it mandatory that Father's passport should have spouse name added?
Is one of the parents passport have Spouse name sufficient or is it mandatory that father's passpot definetly needed?
Adding spouse name is not mandatory. If any of the parents are renewing then they can add their spouse name by showing their MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE as proof.
Even for applying child passport spouse name inclusion is not mandatory so no worries but parents might be asked to show their marriage certificate

That Xerox Birth certificate which is give to you is accepted and more than enough.

Hi Vidhya you can go with any address for your 3 year old as per your wish only change is Police verification will happen and the overall timeline increases.
Usually if father address is transferred to baby the POLICE VERIFICATION will be ignored. In other cases it depends on the PSK staff who checks your application.
You have to produce Marriage Certificate if spouse name is missing on the parents passport.

Q: At PSK, will there be any address problem as my passport has a different address against my children’s aadhaar? Since they have aadhaar for themselves, would that be taken as a standalone address proof or Is it mandatory that my passport address should match with the children’s application address?
No need to worry about the address part. Whatever address the Parents suggest PSK TEAM will make it incorporated in the Child’s passport.
If the address differs POLICE VERIFICATION will happen that’s a simple procedure so just go for it!
All over INDIA you can apply for passport so no need to fear about the AADHAAR part too.

1)Father passport spouse name addition is more than enough it’s the same as in my case. Ignore your wife passport spouse addition process.
2) Fill up the blanks by taking the Annexure D form (handwritten). It will be asked during document submission.

You have to go with “Annexure C” where one parent can give their consent while the other parent is settled in abroad.

General rule is that in KIDS BIRTH CERTIFICATE husband and wife name with INITIAL is OK
But when it comes to PASSPORT usually as in my case
NAME: PRASHANT
SURNAME:TULASI RAMASWAMY will be mentioned (INITIAL “T” is expanded) just follow this logic while updating your passport. This is the generic rule followed!

Take a print out fill in the ANNEXURE Document document as per my sample given in my video. Annexure C is only applicable for you since your husband is in abroad so ignore the other one.
Ensure that you take your baby photo in hard copies while visiting

Bro, in my case, going to apply passport for my child who she is 4 yrs old. Im on abroad and my wife who she is in india doesn't have a passport yet. So, submitting a photo copy of my passport will be good enof or they will require my original?
Here in your situation the passport officer might ask your wife to apply first. If you are in abroad you can submit your photocopies as proof.

First apply for the kid alone bro so that the Passport officer can transfer info from father passport to the kid. Later schedule appointment for your wife.
Doing both will not be accepted mostly but in rare cases they do. If ok give a try!

If the child passport carries the same address of father then the police verification will be skipped.
Both the parents Surname are not necessary for reviewing. No worries anyway it differs for everyone

Following is the content from passport website Minor applicants below the age of 4 years need to carry a passport size photograph for the processing of application at the PSK/POPSK/PO. Hello Thuvaraka please follow the same steps as suggested in my video. Fill up the Annexure D form and fix an appointment. Don’t miss to take both the Parents Original and 2 photocopies of PASSPORT & AADHAR CARD.
If there are any change in the application process the PSK office people will guide you. They might ask you to apply for Indian Passport/ OCI passport in parallel.

You can wait for their feedback. Either they might use the correct suitable Annexure document based on your data (or) they might call you for clarification.

Yes you can apply without AADHAR just ensure you take of the tick mark to proceed with the next steps as explained in my video. Even I applied passport without AADHAR.
Secondly address change is not a big problem just enter whatever address you want if there is change when compared with yours POLICE VERIFICATION will be initiated. No need to worry about it’s a formal procedure.

Just follow the same steps suggested in my video Ammu. Police verification will happen so you can expect a delay in the overall process.
There is no need for your husband to be present at the PSK office just ensure you go with both the Parents PASSPORT & AADHAR CARD (Original & 2 photocopies). Baby is must either of the parents are enough for executing the process

1) Father passport will be considered on priority if there are any family problems then mother’s passport can be taken into account.
2) Same as above only for special cases like DIVORCE, mother proofs will be considered.
3) Both parents are allowed and it depends on the crowd on your appointment day. One parent is also accepted but they need to manage the documents and the baby as I did in my case

School document are not required just submit an address proof with the permanent address. The PSK office people will guide you on what all documents required.
Police station cannot be selected it will selected automatically based on your permanent address.

No problem will come Divya. If father’s passport contains the spouse info that alone is sufficient.
Only Father’s address will be cross checked for baby passport. If address matches then POLICE VERIFICATION will be skipped.

You can add any address you want for your baby passport application. If it differs from the parents passport information POLICE VERIFICATION will be executed that’s the only difference.

It’s NOT mandatory Alex. Police Verification will happen only if there is a change of address between father and child passport.

Definitely they might ask for parents passport so that they can import all your information by a single click.
You can also say strongly that you (Parents) don’t have passport, in future both will apply! Just say this passport is required ONLY for school purposes if they ask.

I have one query:
My wife doesn't have a passport, I took a passport before marriage we don't have a registration certificate either, can i add my spouse's name without marriage certification, also if yes then can I apply passport for my son without a wife's passport.
Marriage certificate is must for spouse name addition.
I would suggest to apply and get all the necessary document from marriage certificate, wife passport etc., before applying for son’s passport.
If you have a genuine reason like separation (divorce) then the passport department people might agree for your baby passport without other documents if no special reason then doubts might arise and they would ask you to prepare all the necessary documents.

Mostly they will ask for Birth certificate in rare cases PSK people will agree with AADHAR CARD as proof!

Yes you can do it anywhere in India. If there is a new address provided then POLICE VERIFICATION will happen. Simple!

Hello Siva Renu it will cost ₹1500 if you opt for 36 pages passport and use the normal service. If applied through Tatkal it becomes ₹2000 for 36 pages.
I don’t think so college mark sheet is required I would suggest to book a slot and go for it!
10th marksheet original nd photocopy nd e adhar with correct adress, dob nd father name..in case of tatkal u need 10th marksheet, aadhar, pan card, voter id, driving lincence any 3 documnt out of 4 in additional of marksheet..all original document nd photo copy of all documnt need to submitted..photocopy must be cleary visible..

Follow the steps as described in my video instead of “Annexure D” you should go with “Annexure C” document.
Both parents presence is not needed just take the original and photocopies of AADHAR CARD & Passports
Both the parents passports are must if husband original is with him in Singapore take the photocopies.

It depends on which address (Father passport address/ Mother passport address) you are planning to bring on baby passport. If Mother address na the Police verification would not necessary since Father name is already incorporated in Mother passport.
If father address or New home address na then Wife name inclusion in Father passport is required / Marriage certificate required / Baby passport is also initiated in parallel.

I am applying for my 3.5 yr old baby, my husband passport expired last year and my passport will expire in other 9 months, we didnt add our spouse names, we have marriage certificate and kid birth certificate,adhar certificate. Can we all schedule appointment at same day for all 3 passport fresh/reissue. As in my kid application they asked for passport number we entered the existing one,as we are applying for renewal it generates the new passport number so

Hello Usha better would be to initiate the parents passport renewal in the first step. Once that’s done go with your baby’s passport initiation.
All in a single appointment is possible but it might get delayed in terms of verification part by the PSK peoples.

Hi Bro! In my case, the address of mine and my spouse are different which need to be updated soon. I haven't added my spouse also to my passport yet. But, I have my aadhar updated with my current address. Can I use my aadhar as the address proof for my 5 year old daughter? In that case, can I carry my aadhar with my during the interview for proof? Or should i update mine and my spouse's address before proceeding with the application of passport for my daughter?
Bro the process is simple. You can add any address for daughter if it mismatches with your passport or your wife passport addresses they will initiate POLICE VERIFICATION
There is not a MUST REQUIREMENT that spouses name should be updated. If they ask just ensure you have marriage certificate ready as a proof.
My suggestion take all your original proofs and show them what ever they ask. If needed they will scan and give you back bro🤝🤩

It depends on the PSK staff who evaluates your documents. If needed they can generate your passport number in parallel and execute both activities.
