So, THE STORY SO FAR An undetermined amount of time ago, some ancestors of the Elford concluded a pact with demons, granting them one negative wish in exchange for their heart and the family manor. A long time passed, each member of the Elford family passing the contract on their descendents; up until Fiona Elford dies, and her daughter, Claire, is sent to live with her grandmother, Dorothy, in their mention. Here Claire lived happily with Dorothy and Sirius, a child Dorothy took under her care when the villager, led by Nicholas Levine, took to designating scapegoats (witches) and killing them, possibly driven by the latter's despair at his wife's suicide. It wasn't long before Nicholas decided to take down Dorothy, possibly with the assistance of a demon (as they'd then get Dorothy's gem), or motivated by the disappearance of Nichola's son Noel (then disguised as a girl named Patricia) who disappeared in the mansion by stepping into hell while playing with Claire, with whom he was great friends. A great carnage ensued, in which 28 people found death, and Dorothy herself was killed, her body swallowed by an eerie and enigmatic mass of flesh, eyes and mouths (possibly an amalgamation of the Elford ancestors, who became Hater demons yet hated too little and lost their human form), that would then haunt the mansion as Sirius would keep it for Dorothy's eventual return. All of it was blamed upon Dorothy, whom the medias portrayed as a heinous witch. Twelve years later, Claire returns to the mansion, having no memories of her past here due to Dorothy wishing for her memories of all pertaining to the mansion to be erased (which was granted by Noel, who despite not hating anyone had become a Hater demon), having lived in the town's vicinity for the last twelve years. Along with her were two humans; Ashe, a traveller from a distant country, come to fetch the Witch's Heart and bring his family (along with everyone he had to kill along the way) back to life, under a cheerful mask; and Wilardo, a cursed human, possibly with undeath, who seeks the heart to free himself of his immortality. There, they promptly realise they are locked in, by Noel's doing (as he is bound to the mansion), and meet with the guardian of the mansion, Sirius. Noel himself appears at sundown, introducing himself to the humans and promptly convincing Sirius not to reveal any of Claire's past to her, as it'd put her in danger. Claire meets with Zizel, the demon she is bound to, who urges her to find the contract binding them both and undo the pact. Here begin several stories, none of which end with Claire leaving the mansion alive: no matter who she trusts, Ashe or Wilardo kill Sirius, and she is killed in the end by either Ashe if he is given enough time (he then finds that his efforts were all in vain, as bringing humans back to life is a positive wish which the Heart will not grant), or Wilardo, who is more reluctant but does get his wish granted. With each death, Noel refuses to give up and tries again, only to end up with the Mansion getting more and more twisted by fantasy lands as he tries and tries again, despite his fellow demons' warnings that the Witch's Heart can bring no happiness. In the end, tired of their monotonous game, the demons decide to increase both risks and reward: how exactly, we will find out later...
Someone bring a Oscar here, please! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 About the Noel granting Dorothy’s wish part...Does she made a pact with Noel or he made it by himself ‘for free’?
Jessica Picolo de Carvalho Dunno, only sure of the fact that he did it when Dorothy asked him. Unless he was added to the list of contractors or something, in which case Dorothy probably could've used her heart to do so, but that's just speculation It's also possible they made a pact, but that'd be hard to prove
gege029 I deleted my other comment. Just to clarify, are we talking about a brand new pact altogether? Because Dorothy no longer had the Witch's Heart at that point in time. Claire had it.
Hello Mono Chrome, Thank you for playing the game. it is a long journey in this game and I believe you are in pain playing this game also waste your time for us to see the video hehe , I appreciate your hard working to edit and upload the video in TH-cam, again thank you very muchh :) muaahhh You deserve a subscribe from me and life video for your hard-working upload and editing video so keep it up upload awesome video in your free time 👍👀✨✨
Criticisms of the game aside, though, thank you @Mono Chrome for the videos! Great sound quality (I hope you won't get in trouble for it), you went through the text at a good speed, and no commentary. I have nothing against people who do commentate, but every viewer has their own taste, and sometimes it's nice to just watch the game being played.
I know this is really late but are you gonna play the bonus stage on this channel? I just really want a no commentary playthrough of the bonus stage...
Of course, in this kind of story, you can't give everything away. I got hooked because I was so impressed with Ashe's route. But overall the different routes felt way too repetitive. There's not nearly enough progress nor enough questions being answered. And I'm super disappointed with the lack of choice in the game, too. Every route is completely linear. It doesn't feel like the characters are learning or growing or changing. Overall, I'm with Rouge: I don't care how it ends at this point, but just end it. The dilly-dallying is really stale.
Katherine Shan I have to agree with you here. It was fun and thrilling at first, but then you realize Claire would die no matter what, which kinda ruins the surprise. The characters aren't growing much in personality may be because the timeline repeats, which renders everything accomplished in each route null. We do learn more about each character however. Hope that the next update will settle everything and answer every question.
Appreciate the response! :) I wouldn't mind even if a happy ending was just not possible, but I'd at least like to see them try. It's high time for the characters to actually start communicating and being more honest. If they actually tried to work together, who knows? In any case, I'll be back for part two of the story, and we'll see what happens. Do you have any other games you're planning to record and post on your channel?
i wonder if claire does find that pact and gives it to Zizel then i wonder if she will be able to free herself from the whole witch's heart thing i feel that claire should at least marry either Sirius,Noel or Wilardo in order to have a child so that she does not have the witch's heart anymore and is passed down to the kid she has,it is a sad thing but if we want claire alive that should be the only thing to consider sadly, but only if the contract is still not found.
Karla Arizpe It's not possible for Noel and Claire to find the contract since Lime constantly tampers with the game (hiding the contract when they are around, leading Ashe and Wilardo to see it).
Oh my God. I just binged this game in 48 hours from beginning to end, and I'm so disappointed right now that I'm honestly kind of pissed. In any kind of spiral story (where the events loop over and over, with each loop getting a little tighter and "better" and closer to the truth, often involving alternate realities or time travel etc.), pacing is the most fundamentally important aspect. This game is way longer than it needs to be, and gameplay is far from perfect, but those are arguably design choices and acceptable. But you CANNOT reveal 90% of the story, get to the end of the last build-up-to-the-climax loop, and then do a cheap "we'll release the next part of the story soon!" cop out. This game doesn't feel like "part one"--it feels like "every part except the last part". Imagine bringing someone to climax, and right before it happens, you just stop. That's how this game makes me feel. And I mean, there's no excuse for so many questions to still remain unanswered. What IS Ashe's wish? What exactly is the monster? Why is it significant that the monster ate Patricia/Noel and Dorothy's corpses? Why did Noel pretend to be Patricia (is it really as simple as trying to emulate his supposed mother)? Why and how did Noel enter the demon realm? What is Ashe's wish? What happened to him? Who cursed Wilardo, and why? Wilardo's route is named "Beautiful Flower and Dangerous Curse" (or something like that), yet there are two mentions of this dark flower and they last a combined 30 seconds. How exactly does the Witch's Heart work? Zizel said that the heart passed from Fiona to Claire when she was born, but Charlotte says it's beneficial to have more humans in the pact (doesn't this imply more humans = more hearts)? Why do the demons want humans to find the heart?
Ashe's wish specifically, is to bring back his family since they all died of possibly a sickness or disease that was never mentioned. The monster was sent to eat Noel and Dorothy by the demons, since Noel went into the demon land, as punishment, he became the monster. Also, Noel entered the demon land when he was playing hide and seek with Claire on accident, details on how he found the entrance weren't given.Wilardo just happened to find a cursed flower, his background was honestly the most discrete one in this game, with no real story just "I want to end this curse", which is that he can't die, that's why it's "A curse far worse than death."The Witch's Heart is a red jewel which can grant the finder one negative wish. The only way to find these jewels is to kill another human being that's made a pact with a demon. Demons are searching for these everywhere since it's their energy source, they need it for their powers, etc. Also, they're could be more than one person in a pact, in Claire's family's case. They're pact was an inheritance pact, so the pact would go from offspring to offspring. Unfortunately for the demons, Dorothy and Claire's mother died, leaving only Claire with a "Witch's Heart". So, really, Charlotte was thinking correctly, but all the inheritors died up until Claire, which is where we are now in the story. The story is Noel trying to have Claire survive, as he's the one that locks the mansion. In the end, I do think that leaving it for a sorta of sequel/bonus was the right choice. I'm sure BlueStar could make many plot twists, so they had to plan it. This game isn't actually a "Every part but the last part", it's a "New story to find the truth." Sorta deal. Each route is it's OWN story, so it's technically different stories and pasts to find out the truth or wishes of that person in this case. Noel's obviously reveals the most, as he shows Wilardo that he's the monster, and the fact that he locked them all in the mansion. They're a few plot holes here and there, I believe, yes, but the game is still well plotted and thought out none the less.Hope this cleared up a few things for you! (Also the last few sentences are my opinion, so don't worry about those!)
Thanks for taking the time to respond. I'm glad you could gleam so much out of the game. My opinions and criticisms of the story still stand, and objectively speaking I feel that a lot of the points you made were your own inferences as I cannot remember them being part of the actual game. You can take any story and stretch it out infinitely, there will always be some filler or some twist you can throw in. To me, that doesn't change the fact that the story is not well integrated into the player's gameplay and is not well thought out. I would much rather a game decide it's not going to be overly ambitious with its story, then set up a tremendous expectation and ultimately fail to deliver. If you or anyone else enjoyed the story in this game, I'm happy for you - it's good to find things we enjoy. But I felt quite betrayed and that's just how it is for me.
Katherine Shan Aye it's all good XD, I just wanted to answer a few of the questions you asked. It's alright, I completely understand your opinion of the game, so it's good!

It's possible that Noel made a pact, trading his right eye to turn back to save Claire.

I just realized that Fiona has the dead mom hair.
Sirious is too serious....
Rouge is too rough....
Noel is no well...
welp....too much pun here ._. i suppose
aaahh... the mother... has the hairstyle of the deathhh😱😱😱
That hairstyle is a huge death flag as its own.
