Not seen one of these before. Great job again Martin. There's not much difference between Corgi and Dinky cars. Both companies produced really detailed models.
good afternoon martin, well this came out to be a true triumph silky smooth paint job and great attention to detail.one thing I do on my restorations is use period self adhesive year correct number plates readily available for corgi and dinky toys on ebay they in my opinion just finish the restoration off perfectly. dinky and corgi toys in the 1960/ and early 70/s regularly fitted number plate stickers to their models why not give them a try and see what you think.best regards ian hulley.
Looks fantastic Martin. Thank you for another great video. Great camera positioning. Saw your wife peeking in the door there. You didn't get in trouble did you? Have a great evening. Merry Christmas again.
Martin, beautiful restro job especially the two tone paint 👍, I do have a question, when you get the body taped up for paint do you spray clear on the tape edges to seal it to keep the white from bleeding under to the blue? Just wondering what is a good or right way to do the two tone paint job. Keep the videos coming, enjoy watching them😁 take care bud.
Hi Jeff thanks for your support, I personally don't use the clear, but that's just how I do it, if your going to give it a go try both methods and choose what suits you. A couple of points Jeff good quiltey masking tape is a must I use tamya get different widths ,I use the narrow tape to get up close to curves and body trim. And cocktail sticks to go along the edges to get the tape as flat as possible and sealed. Take your time and plan the best way to go about it. When following body lines or body mouldings get right in the joint smooth it down, if need be pull it back and re lay till it's right . I hope this helps you Jeff ,, I no I have gone on a bit but it's a big subject. Have a look at my play list under my restored vehicles there's some 2 tones in there. All the best
I forgot something Jeff ,don't let the paint dry before you pull the tape of do it while it's still soft but not wet ,and pull the tape downwards at an angle 👍
martin dare Thanks for your answer Martin, it will be a big help for me when I try my hand at taping &painting restro ‘s. Thanks again & take care my friend.😎👍👍👍
Hi Jamie I get my parts of eBay ,or Model supply .co.UK If you look under diecast cars on eBay a and go to parts, you should find what you need. Some times it's cheaper to buy a parts car. Hope this helps.
