@Inquisitor McDakka yes, mithbusters as far as I remember. It's simply impossible, because a speaker has its laundness limit. Sometimes it is the smallest detail that can really make a scene. I love how the Octopus at 0:43 goes from staring straight ahead to glancing up at Frink before suddenly attacking him.
One megaphone has a maximum amplitude of the sound waves it can produce. Amplifying the input source will not cause the megaphone to make a noise any louder than its maximum output. Also each megaphone is absorbing or reflecting any sound waves emanating from behind, so it's not really giving any existing waves a boost. Furthermore the signal will become distorted by being copied and reproduced by each megaphone. It's like copying a page and then copying the copy. It will become very distorted the more times you do it.
@@carultch if it's not amplifying anything, then it is limited by the amplitude of your voice. It just focuses the sound waves in one direction, so if anything, two acoustic megaphones will be quieter because the front one is distorting/blocking the back one.
This is so hilarious. That grin Bart makes when the fly passes by makes the "Testing" so much funnier. Bart's anticipation of doing this is classic. He loves causing chaos.
+whraithlord You can only amplify a noise so much before it distorts, aside from this the transistor is the main element in megaphone. We need to know that transistor takes a small signal as input, and on the out put it generate a similar but larger signal. Each transistor has its own characteristics, and it has minimum and maximum input/output. To amplify sound transistor will take a small signal (millevolts), and the output will be in volts or 10’s of volts. Therefore feeding the megaphone with output of another megaphone means we are feeding the next one with large signal exceeds its input characteristics. Another fact, from the characteristics of transistor, we find that the capacity to amplify is limited to the energy supplied to the transistor; for example, if the transistor is supplied with 12 volts then its output is limited to this supply even if its input signal is higher volts there will be no amplification more than the supplied voltage. So in short it is a cartoon, ofc this won't work -_-

Simpson’s was so funny back then, lol from Bart looking back and forth for soo long before finally getting the idea, to homers reaction to the beer exploding as if it were some sort of apocalyptic omen (or the apocalypse itself lol!)
That would be accurate IF each megaphone did not limit its output at a fixed level, as every ordinary electronic device does. What is lacking is not amplification but maximum output power.

@@Spect3r. True. This was back when The Simpsons was regularly funny.
Whoever came up with this is a genius!
I like the part where Bart Simpson's testing, bust and glass and makes all of the parrots start squaring testing.
Hahaha ha 😆
Hahahaha!
We all know this wouldn't work in real life but who doesn't want to try 🤣
If this was a real incident it'd probably go worldwide 😂😂😂
I will destroy corona with this
This, and the April Fool's Shaken Beer, are two of Bart's best pranks of all time.
Haha! Totally forgot about that one. Ya, bartman is a legend
yes.. the qreat ones
The one with the beer in the paint shaker?
That frightened me to watch.
Didn’t he prank everyone to think he fell down a well and then actually did?
Simpson’s was so funny back then, lol from Bart looking back and forth for soo long before finally getting the idea, to homers reaction to the beer exploding as if it were some sort of apocalyptic omen (or the apocalypse itself lol!)
This bit tells you everything you ever needed to know about Bart Simpson. Perfect.
Take a drink every time you hear the word "Testing".
You can try, but they'd probably shatter before you should drink them
@@sammyjones2081 LOL!!!

That would be accurate IF each megaphone did not limit its output at a fixed level, as every ordinary electronic device does. What is lacking is not amplification but maximum output power.
we know, but also it's a cartoon ralph
@@DaveDexterMusic You understand that, but lots of people do not. Maybe some person will find my comment helpful. I agree that the cartoon is funny.
In which Bart invents the newest weapon of mass destruction - an ultrasonic amplifier. I can think of several countries that would kill to get their hands on it.
The end of the world would be in 1h with Bart 😂
@@izukumidoriya4046 arms dealer in WMDs would be a possible future for him...or terrorism. LoL.
@@barracuda6900 Exactly 😂
Only one word can destroy the entire town
Poor Bart, he just want to test and now he became a meme
Homer's scream at 00:49
one of my all time Simpsons scenes
this scene has tricked generations of children into thinking stacking megaphone would create an explosion of sound and not audio feedback
The evil in this is so beautiful =)
0:49 homers screams like a little girl is always hilarious
It’s all in the licking of his lips. Pure cinematic gold.
“The readout said it was 15 decibels. Not great, not terrible.”
I feel really sorry for Homer, he looks so happy and smiley as he opens the fridge to get a beer, then there's the look of confusion on his face about the noise, then the shock at the first explosion of the beer, then the look in horror when he sees the bottles exploding then just loses it when the one in his hand explodes!
Bart is literally the pure embodiment of “genius”
I couldn't stop laughing the first time I saw this 😂
literally me too, ill never forget this scene from the tears of joy running down my face
Same 😂
Same...
Ditto
The Simpsons is a couple years older than I am, so I came to it a bit late. This was one of the first episode I remember seeing and I think this and the joke right after were the first jokes I remember flat-out laughing my ass off at.
That Shockwave is so powerful that it destroyed The First’s Order Star Ships
We don't talk about that.
@@THX--jp8sy Agreed, disney Star Wars is non-canon as far as I'm concerned.
Now imagine that an air horn was blown into all those megaphones.
Didn't mark Rober do a video on that?
0:30 - This was happened to me when I'm at Honda, and I tried to unlock the Honda Accord while shopping for a car 🤣🤣🤣
so you gathered a lot of microphones and said testing in then? XD
Y'know. I've never seen this original scene until now. Thank you.
0:42 dunno if anybody notice, that slightly references the facehugger
No.
not necessarily
@@Monochromicornicopia It was a facehugger reference.
@@aknight1096 Not necessarily. The alien franchise isn't the only or first franchise to show a creature attached to someone's face
@@Monochromicornicopia True but it is the most popular one. And it is most commonly referenced in this scene hence it is an alien reference.
I can't help but feel that this would have made an amazing myth busters episode.
The 2nd megaphone would already saturate thus producing the exact same volume as the last one.
It would be a very short mythbusters episode. A quick proof that it does not work, then breaking out the machine they built for 'the brown note'.
There IS an episode of this... myth busted i'm afraid. It didn't work.
Bart: I destroyed my town!
Galeem: Hold my beer...
Homer would’ve loved that beer
@@CHINGIZMMMM Nope, Bart easily defeats Galeem, what is Galeem against a rock thrown by a slingshot?
One of those Mythbuster shows tested to see if this actually worked, it didn't. Putting an active megaphone that close to another megaphone in fact causes a reverb that'll scratch the inside of your brain
Really. How unexpected.
So, is it true?
Did he echo?
