Part of me wanted a Byzantine version, but Nelson as Basil I (at least the ability to schmooze people and a trickster) with Quimby or Homer as Michael III (party animal, or lazy oaf at least in more negative account), Grandpa Simpsons/Ned Flanders as Bardas (or someone cautious about Basil's ambition before getting culled as a result), and Lisa/Millhouse as Leo the Wise (at least playing on her part as a bookworm, though not funny since Basil I did beat up Leo and would have him blinded if it wasn't for pleas from his wife and public support). Plus Bart as Alexander (mischievous and maybe ignoring Lisa's advice and probably resented her for getting the throne). Maybe inspired by Krispos by Harry Turtledove, who made a Fantasy story based on his rise to power. Edit: Maybe Nelson would fit as Basil instead of Bart.
