My main gripe, is it would maybe be more legible in a wider range of enviroment, with an E-ink display over an LCD. The low contrast of the LCD isn’t stellar. But the form factor is quite appealing.
We will have more media out soon which shows the contrast more clearly. It’s quite good. In addition, there are three backlight settings to aid in readability depending on your environment conditions!
I can’t wait to use my BYOK on trips, for journaling at cafes, writing in the car, and taking notes at conferences so I don’t have to carry my laptop-the possibilities are endless!!!
... if you could connect a small printer directly, you would have a compact (and weird) type writer. But apart from that, the screen would be much too small for any of my texts.
Understandable! For reference, We deliberately chose LCD for a few reasons: -It does not suffer from the delay inherent to eink. (BYOK is intended to be a snappy experience from the fast power-on to the responsive typing experience.) -lower cost to customers -lcd is much easier to backlight
Please note this is an early prototype and not a polished version of the product. It is simply to demonstrate the function of writing on the BYOK!

Do you support other languages like Korean?
We plan to support other languages! Working on that now. It’s our hope that all major languages (including Korean) will be included eventually
Estimate retail?
$150ish is current estimate. Still waiting on some key numbers!
No e-ink? No. 👎🏻
