At my job, we built a fuel recovery tank..used diesel tank..mounteted on a 4 wheeled hand truck..with a mini reversable air pump.that you would have to hook up to shop air..with the lever on the pump to suck fuel out..and push fuel back in the tank..and dont forget an alligator clip ground cable to ground the tank to thr vehicle, lift, ect..
Hi Bruce, regarding the Scania,s engines and then now being in the New International,s did you know that the Tower Of London Bridge has its Hydraulics powered by Scania Engines, the reason they chose Scania,s was because of their reliability and performance 🤔 just a bit of trivia there Bruce, now can we see what you have been doing with the White Scania and the Black one 👍

How about swapping out the tanks on either side. Put left on right and Right on left. Rotate filler neck to allow filling

You never slide a lift axle under a truck with tires on it. You have to do a lot of measuring before you ever slide it under. I’ve built dozens of tri-axles. I can’t bear to watch good luck.
Hey Bruce just a heads up, it looks like you are using a non-ferrous die grinder bit on steel. You can tell by the big flutes. You might find a ferrous metal carbide bit will do much better for that application! Cheers :)

Could use flip your tank around and still be able to fill it? Also the plug in is probably to be able to use the factory drop switch and so that it drops when the brakes are set, which you can do. You can also have it drop with the brakes set or not
Once you mounted the third axle, it looks so beefy!
Brutus will look so much better with the lift axle when you get it finished.
Yes, I think “Brutus” will also handle the weight better as well. Nothing like building your own projects

Hey Bruce swap sides with the fuel tanks..That way the filler cap will be moved to the front..If you can rotate it slightly so the cap isn’t covered up

I started watching his channel first for the “will it start” vids but then the Scania stuff, I kinda think he gets started on something and then moves on to the next thing that catches his attention. But he has just moved states and there is a box of Scania parts they got, so maybe something soon.

Peterbilt does make a tank with the fill cap in the center. It's either on the end like yours or center. I can get you the part number for a 90 gallon center fill pete tank. Let me know

"May have to relocate the air dryer " maybe should have ordered the truck with the right wheelbase and a tag axle already on it because wasnt built with a tag so now have to find a shop that willl certify it as a fouraxle and light weight steer with a tag almost pointless not hating just experience with fouraxle truck stuff

And also the tanks are usually shorter. And then if you want to run a wet pump but also have a headache rack to be a multi-purpose. Wet truck holler or a flatbed oversized holler. And have a headache rack. You need to have a split 1/3 fuel. And hydraulic tank on the passenger side and then your other smaller fuel tank on the driver side or vice versa

Love your content! Never a boring moment even when it seems like it to you guys. I see you guys dont wear safety glasses or have ear plugs handy. I worked on B-52 bombers in the air force and we never left without our safety gear, including gloves. Every body thinks an accident just happens or there was one mistake right before it happens. Not true. Since we worked on aircraft that could carry nuclear bombs, it was drilled in us that there is no such thing as an accident. There is always multiple series of activities prior to an " accident ". That includes no safety glasses or gloves used . We would have a bottle of saline solution on our work truck for fluid issues in our eyes. Im sure you dont want any of your guys to lose a finger or eye due to safety concerns. Cant believe you yanks have to put a extra axle on a tractor unit to increase its weight by 20,000 lbs.we carry way more than that on a dual axle
It is due to the fact that we have millions and millions of miles of roads, bridges, interstates, and highways to maintain. The more axles, the more evenly that the weight is distributed across the roadway, resulting in less damage.
You guys don't seriously believe that you somehow stumbled across the secret to building lorries that can carry heavy loads on a dual axle, do you??? 🤠

I would recommend just replacing the 5th wheel plate now before this truck heads to work & you find you have problems with the old one.

Did you space it with equalized air in suspension? You do know spacing important for weight allowance.
Maybe next time, you maybe just buy a truck set up to add a tag or buy it with a tag axle from the factory?
They make a spray you can get that you can just wipe that rubber off like nothing. I use it on my drag car, rubber wipes off like nothing doesn’t hurt the paint at all. Making a big deal out of nothing.

Thats drop axle is obsolete in most states.trucks now require a steerable drop axle reason you dont see 3 axles they (dmv) wont let you register what the truck can carry

why dont you flip the tanks from driver to passenger side so the filler is beside the stacks?

Yep tri drive is stupid. Although super singles for drop would be better. If you have blow out just flip the switch.
@TeIe_gra_mme_Bruce_wilson3 the duals for the drop axle if you don't raise it before turning puts lot of torque on setup. Singles slide better but should still lift before turning.
