Dealer was unable to determine why and no fix other than trying to replace the entire system. I passed. I believe it is caused by a internal faulty capacitor/ battery, used to maintain memory settings. It doesn’t hold a charge and causes everything to reset. Chevrolet seems to be turning a blind eye to the issue. Good luck.

@@SNOWBALL95 that is the cheaper DENSO unit. Delphi also makes one. You can tell it is a Delphi when there is a space between the edge of the disk eject button and the edge of the CD opening slot. Buy one on EBAY and have and independent shop like SPECMO or the dealer wipe out the vin lock. Should solve your problem.
jewllake so the problem is that the VIN gets lost? Which is why the Navi won’t turn on? Had a guy change his battery and the Navi won’t turn on. Reset battery twice and pulled fuse. Nothing. :(
