As far as I know degrees and graduations are generally accepted within EU countries... but not everything gets accepted. It could be that your degree gets accepted only by half, which means you can do additional work to let it fully recognize later on. That is because countries have often their own terms and conditions when it comes to various degrees. So in this case, you need inform yourself and ask Finnish agencies. In case you are an EU citizen, then you shouldn't have much trouble or none. (: I know a hungarian teacher, who moved to Germany. Her degree was only recognized by half and had to do some extra work (to fulfill the terms and conditions) to get her title as teacher accepted.

Hi Alex, In a few years I will retire and wish to come to Finland. From the official information I see, coming to Finland while retired is *not* one of the options. You have to either have commitsments (family in Finland, or a job, or something like that), or you are an expat (whatever that means). So the question is: if you have no previous ties to Finland, but you do have enough income, will Finland grant you a residence permit? P.S. I live in EU.

Hi, when you say "come to Finland with a family member", I assume you mean to get together with a family member already in Finland, or do you mean migrating with your family or a family member both coming from your native country? Thanks.
It can mean both.
The links aren’t working for me.
I was watching this video rather anxiously, wondering which permit should I apply for... Up until the 10th minute when you said EU members don't even need that stuff xD Well, I'm packing my bags.
Yep for EU people it's super straightforward. 👌
Hi Aleksi! Love your videos! Can you make a video about the mandatory service of the Finnish army?
Thanks! I have done it already: th-cam.com/video/R8ZQfxITM7M/w-d-xo.html
You speak very good English.
What if I want to Live in Finland but I still want to work with my company located in the United States, and they let you work remotely? Can I still a Residency permit?

Hi Aleksi, do you know have they stopped the connection to Finland reason? I am trying to look into applying for my first residency permit
I don't think they have.
@@AleksiHimself thank you - it’s not something I can find on the website. I am the granddaughter of a Finn and looking to leave the UK and move to Finland but couldn’t see that option. I’ll keep looking thought. i appreciate you taking the time to reply!

How far back can your family ties go? My great great grandmother was from Finland.
I think it's only grandparents but not sure.
Hi Aleksi. My non EU husband got his PR to work in Finland just a month ago and I am planning to get PR too. Should I get it based on the family ties? Even though he just got there for a month. Does immi need him to show atleast 6 months of payslip as a proof that he is capable to support me? Also, planning to study when I get there. Which one is better? Is it to apply based on family ties or as a student? Thanks!
Hi. I assume you mean RP = Residence Permit and not PR = Permanent Residence Permit?
Yes, you husband needs to have enough income to provide for both of you. Family RP does not restrict working at all whereas student RP restricts working to 25 hours a week.

How is the theater schools there. Can I just go back to acting school..
Don't know much of them, sorry.
If you have a EU passport, you don't really need a reason as long as you can financially support yourself. That's the point of free movement in EU.
@@AleksiHimself I know I can move there, but ..... can I get a long-term residence permit? If I cannot, then probably many facilities are not open to me. Do you know?
Hi Aleksi, how can you get a license to practice as a nurse in Finland? ;)
First result from Google: www.nurses.fi/nursing_and_nurse_education_in_f/working-as-a-nurse-in-finland/
Great job
Thanks for the comment Fathi Fathi!
Working part time while studying is not possible?
Of course it is possible.
It is possible, 25 hours per week
So I can come there with a Visa, and if I wanna stay there I should find a job before 90 days?
Or you can find the job abroad.
You can't go from a tourist visa straight to a residence permit. You could still find a job, but you would still have to go back home, apply for the work residence permit, and wait for it to be approved before you can return to work.
@@jessicawright6093 please give me you contact number. I want something know.
Great information , please how about people who has permanent residency in another EU country ? If the come to Finland for more than 90 days ? What they should do ?
I think Migri has info about this.
I like your hairstyle.
Thanks!
Moi Aleksi i have a question if will come here as a tourist then get married and apply for residence permit. can we wait here while waiting for my partner residence permit? or he need to exit finland first. he is a malaysian and i am holding a working residence permit. hope you can answer. kiitos
I believe you can wait in Finland while your application is processed. Check this from Migri website.

Aleksi, is there any way to get Finnish permanent resident for a Canadian citizen?
Im going to 9th grade and planning to study in Finland after graduating highschool. Just wondering if it worth to learn Finnish, or is it close to impossible for me to become a permanent resident there?
You have to get it the same way as others: migri.fi/en/permanent-residence-permit
@@AleksiHimself thank you so much!
An how much amount you need to have to support yourself before your residence permit ready?
I don't know.
Kiitos, Aleksi! Excellent information! I keep telling my aunt to apply, but it’s hard to find grandparents birth certificates. Would church records work?
Like I said I'm no immigration specialist, but my guess is that church records would only prove your relationship and not the fact that your grandparents were born Finnish.
You can read more here: migri.fi/en/descendant-of-a-finnish-citizen
My sister already tried this church records stuff.... it is easier to look for other alternatives, believe me.
Aleksi Himself - Videos about Finland Kiitos. I will have to find out how to get their birth certificate. Maybe my cousin in Alajärvi would know.
I'm interested to work and PR in Finland. Please provide such website where from i search suitable job for me.

What country is that? I believe most of the Schengen countries belong to EU so I don't think you need.

Hi , I live in Latvia and we are looking to relocate to Finland. Me , my wife , child and my dog. Whats it like to find a property to rent in Finland if you have a dog? Can I go there and look for work or should I find work online and then move? Like I said we have some savings and also I have some family already livining in Finland and they are really happy there.
Are you talking about renting an apartment or a real property (=land). In case of apartments, some landlords do not allow pets but that is usually mentioned in the description.
Hi, if you are an EU citizent (or British citizen up until 31/12/2020) I believe you do not need a residence permit but you need to submit an EU registration - kind of the same but much cheaper and a little easier I believe :)
Yes you do.
I am an eu citizen as I hold 2 passport, 1 is Irish ☘️ passport I need to submit a residency permit or find a job.
Is it easy for Australian citizen/passport holder to obtain Finnish residency. Or is it as same as the other countries.
The process is the same for everyone outside of the EU.
