Hi Beth ! I have to be honest , I hate to make turnovers ( maybe cause I like really not a fan of the puff pasty , it's hard to find it in Viet Nam so I have to make home made puff pasty ) but after getting ur recipes , now I'm really excited to make somes in this weekend !! They look so good !! OMG !! Can wait to try !! Thank you for all your dedication !! Love ur channel so so much !!
Entertaining With Beth Hey !! I bring some good news!! Your recipe is so amazing !! I tried it last sunday and it was phenomenon , everybody love it !!! For this week , I'm gonna try to make ur chocolattas !! Hoping it turns out great cause I love those chewy things !!! Thank you for what ur doing !! Love you Beth !!
my mouth is watering :) this looks so good, and pretty easy to make we don't celebrate thanks giving over here in NZ so i might make this for a Christmas eve treat :) I also wanted to say thank-you because you inspired me to upload my guacamole recipe :)
WOW!!!! This is the BEST Video on Apple Turnovers I have ever seen, and believe me... I have seen all of them. I was looking for an Apple Fried Pie recipe to tell you the truth, when I came across your video... I Love this better! Thank you so much for sharing this Delicious Receipt. (Besides, its looks so Beautiful too).
i made apple turn overs a few days ago. on accident i grabbed the wrong bottle and grabbed pumpkin spice. i didnt notice till after they were in the oven. but they were amazing.
Lovely recipe! Thank you for putting the ingrediënts not only in cups , but also in grams! In Europe we don't really use cups so I'm very happy that you include the grams! xoxo from Belgium!
Aw you bet! I'm conscious of that too because of my "belle famille" who live in France :) Always easier to have the recipe printed in both! That way everyone can follow along :)
I just made these! They took less than ten minutes to come together. My whole family was so excited to eat them that we just had turnovers with ice cream for breakfast! Another amazing recipe, Beth :) Thank you for doing what you do!
You'd certainly fall in love with "antonovka" apples, which is kind of redolent tart apples here in Russia, that gets ripe in the fall period, they'd be so perfect for this recipe as well))) Amazing recipe! Thank you, Beth!
Hi Beth, i just wanted to thank you for taking the time to write the measurements in both cups and kilos. This make it so easy for me, as a dane, to make the recipes without worrying about converting the measurements. :)
wow my mum made this for me and i was really amazed! It was delicious! Thank you from me, my mum and ,well, my whole family.PS I love Granny smiths aswell
Hey Beth! Just wondering if the bottom of the pastry will be soggy after baking? Was thinking of using peaches for this, but they are gonna be a bit more juicer than apples. So don't wanna ruin it with soggy pastry >< THANKS! :D
I was looking for a way to simplify my Thanksgiving desert but not compromise any taste or elegance --- this is perfect, can't wait to make it! Thanks Beth!
Aw thanks :) The 20 min videos were actually part of the Kin Community channel. We have stopped doing them really because they just are a bit cost prohibitive and time consuming to produce BUT because people appear to really love them, I'm going to start doing them here on my own channel, "mini menus" to start (3 courses) until I get my "sea legs" and can do more. The first one will be Christmas Dinner in early Dec. Stay tuned! :)
Beth I do enjoy your recipes but the problem I have with your channel is that it seems the star of the videos is you and NOT the FOOD. I wish you spend more time focused on the recipe instead.
Looks delicious! I noticed that you didnt poke ventilation holes in your handpies..or is that not necessary? I have seen many other people recommend it so the handpie doesnt explode in the oven. Advice on this please!
Maria W Ah yes only necessary with hand pies that use pie dough crust, because this is puff pastry so poking holes will actually prevent it from raising up :)
A small stick of butter inside a turnover, must taste very very good. Thanks for the idea, Beth. This may a dessert on thanksgiving but this is actually a breakfast for me :D
+Karla Lopez Oh yes it is different. I wouldn't recommend baking with wax paper in fact I'm not sure it's really oven safe?? Parchment paper however is oven safe and is a much better thing to use. It won't smoke up your apt either :) Here's a good brand to try. And they are pre-cut which is also nice! amzn.to/1WCuqYu
You can also use white sugar mixed with molasses to make brown sugar substitute.. Good thing I'm part Egyptian cause we always have Egyptian molasses in the pantry haha!
Beth, I have a question. Could I use a wire cooling rack on top of a rimed baking sheet as like a roaster for chicken or turkey? Wouldn't the rack allow the air to circulate all around and get crispy skin? Thanks so much!
Well, I have to admire your ingenuity! :) But I would be concerned that the delicate pastry would start to cook around the wire and stick, and then they would be hard to remove or worse only the tops would be removed. Best to play it safe by putting them on a baking sheet lined with parchment. That way they are really foolproof :)
hey Beth! I have a quick question. you said you used the Trader Joe's brand. Is this the phyllo dough? I think that is what I bought by mistake 😓. This is what I found in the frozen section of Trader Joe's. Hope you can help me here. Thanks!
I love watching your videos thanks you are so natural and make things look so easy, Just noticed this was years ago, are you still doing these videos. I sure hope so also can I ask how long you can keep these apple turnovers in freezer.please?
hi beth.. im big fan of you and your cooking,ur the sweetest person on earth and thanku for such amazing recipes. i love baking and ur tips and made it more easy and fun to bake.. i made these turn overs but i ommit the resisns and add some cream cheese and they were out of world.thanku once again
+haky81 Oh yum! That does sound delicious! So glad they were a hit! And thanks also for your kind words about the channel, so happy you enjoy the videos! :) xx
Hey beth, i did not include raisins but we found the turnovers to be little tart than we wanted them to be. Is it okay to use sweeter apples like gala apples? Or should i just stick with green apples?
Made your apple puffs several times. Its my go-to apple pastry but this is so much simpler! No top and bottom layers or rectangles to futz around with. Only part I wish you'd shown more of is how you make your glaze. Mine comes out too watery! Thanks Beth :) :)
A delicious and simple recipe. I just made it tonight and my mum loved them -- considering she is the main chef in the house, it speaks loads if she loves them. Quick and absolutely genius. If any of you have hesitation to try this, take my word for it and make these turnovers!
Beth. I made these and they were delicious! Even though it's impossible for me to try to copy all your recipes, I still watch your videos since I found you. I love all your videos and tips, especially the game plan. I know it's a lot of work and really appreciate all your effort. Your love for cooking and care for details really shines through in these videos. If you don't mind, can you tell me what song was playing in this video? My young nephew wants to try making this on his own soon and wanted to know what song was playing so he can play the song while he's making the apple turnover just like you in the video! Lol
The idea of putting raisins is brilliant. I made it on my mother's birthday in the morning and she truly loved it! Saying: "Best breakfast!" Thank you so much Ms. Beth sharing this tasty recipe.
Oh yes! I've got a great one for you. This is my new favorite knife that I'm using in this video :) It's incredibly well made and stays sharp for the longest time it's a VMatter knife here's a link to their site bit.ly/17z3tY0
So I made these last night for my family and they looked great but seemed really heavy and buttery. It was difficult to eat an entire turnover because of this. Very pretty but I think we’ll stick with good ol’ apple pie.
Had a brunch come up at the last minute and was asked to bring fruit and this came to mind. Great recipe and they were a big hit! Thanks again for another great recipe.
I love love it! Thanks beth! My family doesn't celebrate thanksgiving but this year I really want to make this for them. :D Quick question though, what can be an alternative to parchment paper?
Absolutely amazing thank you so much for the delicious recipe and for always keeping it so simple and easy for us who are more on a beginner level of cooking, I just love your channel ! I don't trust anyone else but you when it comes to these delicious recipes. Thank you as always your Amazing !
+Maya Culley Absolutely! Great idea! Best to stay in the fridge, covered for 1 day and then you can bake the next day. Or you can also pop them in the freezer for longer too! :) Enjoy!
I love apple turnovers, but I can't find puff pastry in my area. Would it taste just as good if I use eggroll wrappers? They're so easy to find and affordable here.
Hmmm not sure about egg roll wrappers? But regular pie dough would work. You could use the pie dough recipe from this video :) Enjoy! Beth's Classic French Apple Tart
I got invited to my first Thanksgiving ever! (I'm Australian) and I didn't know what to bring, I'll think I'll bust out a few of these. Thanks, Beth! (Also, why are there marshmallows on casseroles?)
LOl! Yes marshmallows on sweet potato casseroles are classic Thanksgiving fare. I really have no idea where that originated from, but our family cannot do without them either. It is SO good you must try them this year as I'm sure they will be "represented" at your feast :)
Hi Beth , I absolutely love your channel and I love watching you. I am just wondering where I can get the exact recipe , i mean measurement . you just say some sugar but want to know how much to use. I wanted to try the apricot scones but then I dont know how many cups of flour or sugar i need to use. please advice if I have missed something. thank you soo much.
Aw thanks Neha! So glad you enjoy the channel. The exact recipe with measurements is in the video's description. Just click SHOW MORE under the player. Or on a mobile just click your arrow to show more :) Enjoy!
Beth, this recipe is simply amazing, Im gonna try it for sure, but I am one of your foreign viewers so I dont celebrate Thanksgiving, but I will make them in the weekend. By the way will you do any full menu videos on Kin this year? :)
Unfortunately I won't be doing the full menus on Kin this year BUT I am going to start doing "Mini Menus" (3 course videos) on my own channel. The first one will be Christmas Dinner! Stay tuned! :)
hey Beth, have you ever considered putting some a slice of cheese on top of those apples and then bake it? it's seriously something else, you must try it, if you haven't already ;) also, you're doing a pretty good job with your videos, I love this new format!
Oh I must try that!(I never have) that sounds delicious! So glad you like the new format :) Little by little I think I'm getting the hang out it. Tomorrow I'm going to try to shoot a "Real Time Recipe" (we need to bring those back!) wish me luck! :) LOL!
Thanks for this awesome recipe! I made them into smaller bites (little squares) for a fun "mini" factor. Just one question though, and sorry if it has already been addressed: Could you use (non-stick) foil instead of parchment paper?
Good question! If this was regular pie dough yes, but I don't do this for puff pastry because I find it prevents it from puffing up properly. So there is no need and it will save you a step :)
Hi beth! I love your desserts and I was wondering what are your favorite brands of vanilla ice cream to use? I have a hard time finding a good creamy ice cream that tastes just like the restaurant vanilla ice creams! Thanks!
I made them today because I was craving some dessert, and they were awesome...Thanx for the recipe, can you make some easy nutella lava cakes sometime?
Oh yum! That does sound good. Here's a recipe for regular Chocolate Lava Cakes, just add 1 tsp of hazelnut extract and you'll have a Nutella Tasting Lava Cake :) Enjoy! Beth's Foolproof Chocolate Lava Cake
hi Beth, i love this recipe. it's a winner to my son and friends. just a question, how do i preserve the baked pastry to retain it's crunchiness the day after?
This is great! I like the idea of an apple turnover instead of apple pie. Trying it!!
You are totally right, these little turnovers are so much more elegant than classic apple pie! We can't wait to make your recipe, Beth!
Yum!! The turnover looks amazing!! Happy early thanksgiving :)
Oh yes, these are right up my alley :) Super easy!
Ha! Yes it's the easiest Tday dessert ever! :)

WOW!!!!
This is the BEST Video on Apple Turnovers
I have ever seen, and believe me... I have seen all of them.
I was looking for an Apple Fried Pie recipe to tell you the truth, when I came across your video... I Love this better!
Thank you so much for sharing this Delicious Receipt.
(Besides, its looks so Beautiful too).
I love your point about the apple pie, these turnovers are so much prettier! And I love that they have more crust, hahaha =)
Entertaining With Beth I love how these can be served individually and I need to find that Calvados Liquor!
Oh you will love it Dzung! So many great things you can do with it :)
i made apple turn overs a few days ago. on accident i grabbed the wrong bottle and grabbed pumpkin spice. i didnt notice till after they were in the oven. but they were amazing.
I am thinking. to make.a.few batches. and then freeze. would I need to thaw before baking?
Nope just bake away straight from the freezer. They'll be great! :)

You'd certainly fall in love with "antonovka" apples, which is kind of redolent tart apples here in Russia, that gets ripe in the fall period, they'd be so perfect for this recipe as well))) Amazing recipe! Thank you, Beth!
LOVE these Beth!
Hi Beth, i just wanted to thank you for taking the time to write the measurements in both cups and kilos. This make it so easy for me, as a dane, to make the recipes without worrying about converting the measurements. :)
Aw my pleasure. Knowing that 50% of my audience is outside the states I want to make sure everybody can make the recipes easily! :)
wow my mum made this for me and i was really amazed! It was delicious! Thank you from me, my mum and ,well, my whole family.PS I love Granny smiths aswell
hey Beth just wanted to let you know after this video I subscribed to try some more of your divine delectable and elegant recipes! you're AMAZING!!!
you wasted so much of the apple
Beth.Which puff pastry should I use for this recipe sweet puff pastry, savoury puff pastry or flaky puff pastry?
+Angelina P Just plain, no sugar. So savoury. The filling is already super sweet.
If I do this again I’ll use sweet puff pastry. I found the plain to be boring and the sweet filling wasn’t enough to make up for that.
Hey Beth! Just wondering if the bottom of the pastry will be soggy after baking? Was thinking of using peaches for this, but they are gonna be a bit more juicer than apples. So don't wanna ruin it with soggy pastry >< THANKS! :D
Beth, made the turnovers again this Christmas, everyone loves them and always requests them - MERRY CHRISTMAS
I was looking for a way to simplify my Thanksgiving desert but not compromise any taste or elegance --- this is perfect, can't wait to make it! Thanks Beth!
Aw YAY! So glad I could help :) Happy Thanksgiving!
I LOVE YOU! Just wondering, did u stop making those 20 min long videos? :) U are AWESOME!! LOVED the recipe!
Stay tuned! :)
But, My sisters birthday is today so I could make them. OMG I LOOKED THEM IN THE CRUST AND SAID ITS SO YUMMY!
Beth I do enjoy your recipes but the problem I have with your channel is that it seems the star of the videos is you and NOT the FOOD. I wish you spend more time focused on the recipe instead.
Looks delicious (and simple!) Beth - three cheers for pre-made puff pastry! Lol. Thanks - can't wait to give it a try!
Ha! I know right?! What would we do without it! :)
Great idea using puff pastry. In a hurry, it does beat making laminated Danish dough for turnovers! Do you need to cut a small vent hole in these?
Beth love your easy to make videos. I hate rsisons but love dried cranberries. It can substitue raidins.
Oh sure cranberries would be delicious too! :)
Canned apple pie filling. Much easier. Maybe raisins
I subscribed, gave a big thumbs up ,and ❤️loved the video.Thank you for your inspiration .And by the way the apple turnover looks so GOOD 😊
Awe thx Alexi! So glad you enjoyed the video! And WELCOME to the channel!
You didn't say the temperature and length of time to bake them. 🙄
Would have been nice if you showed the filling in the end
Where’s the actually recipe? How much of each ingredients?
A small stick of butter inside a turnover, must taste very very good. Thanks for the idea, Beth. This may a dessert on thanksgiving but this is actually a breakfast for me :D
Ha! Sure they would actually be great for breakfast too :)
Looks yum, could you add chopped up prunes if you do not like raisins?
is parchment paper different from wax paper? every time I use my wax paper it's burns nd makes my apt smoky!
+Karla Lopez Oh yes it is different. I wouldn't recommend baking with wax paper in fact I'm not sure it's really oven safe?? Parchment paper however is oven safe and is a much better thing to use. It won't smoke up your apt either :) Here's a good brand to try. And they are pre-cut which is also nice! amzn.to/1WCuqYu
beth do you think it matters if I cook the apple mixture first to soften a bit then spoon it into the pastry?
Entertaining With Beth It must to take a brawn sugar ??I don`t have that what can I use something different Beth what for example??
ilirida aliji Oh sure you could use regular white sugar no problem :)
ohh thnak you soo much beth I love love this chanel
xx from Macedonia FYROM
You can also use white sugar mixed with molasses to make brown sugar substitute.. Good thing I'm part Egyptian cause we always have Egyptian molasses in the pantry haha!
Finally tried this recipe and everyone loved it! Even my grandma who rarely eats sweet treats loved em..👍 thanks!
Aww so glad to hear your grandma enjoyed it too! YAY! :)

This just smells like Christmas to me. Gonna make it a tradition to bake this every Christmas. Thanks for the recipe!
The idea of putting raisins is brilliant. I made it on my mother's birthday in the morning and she truly loved it! Saying: "Best breakfast!" Thank you so much Ms. Beth sharing this tasty recipe.
What kind of knives do you use??? Looking for good quality knives that don dull so quickly!!!
Oh yes! I've got a great one for you. This is my new favorite knife that I'm using in this video :) It's incredibly well made and stays sharp for the longest time it's a VMatter knife here's a link to their site bit.ly/17z3tY0
If everyone were to get their own single one on thanks giving I would have to make about 45 haha I have a SUPER big family. :)
So I made these last night for my family and they looked great but seemed really heavy and buttery. It was difficult to eat an entire turnover because of this. Very pretty but I think we’ll stick with good ol’ apple pie.
Do you think you could move in with me - at least for Thanksgiving? Sounds reasonable, yes?
i was wondering i like cream cheese only. do you have recipe for cream cheese turnover.. n other flavor mix with cream cheese turnover?! thanks!
So tempting to try this.. but I'm afraid it will be a fail and all the ingredients will go to waste. But this is so christmassy!
Ha! No no you will SUCCEED! These could even be made in your toaster oven :)
Thanks for the encouragement haha! Maybe I will.. the toaster oven is really tricky. It will burn anything in seconds.
Made this yesterday, it was so good..but i recommend to roll the dough jus a lil so you can add more apples...if u like apples like me...
I live in the UK and don't celebrate thanksgiving but I will definitely bake these apple turnovers
I love watching ur videos. It almost seems like ur telling a story. Thumbs up! :)
Thanks Beth, I always love your recipes. I definitely make it for Thanksgiving cause I am not in the US this year.
Well it's not entirely necessary, but just make sure your cooking sheet is non-stick OR a silpat baking mat works great too :)bit.ly/1bv5B3X
Okay, got it! Thank you so much! By the way, you are awesome! bd :D
Absolutely amazing thank you so much for the delicious recipe and for always keeping it so simple and easy for us who are more on a beginner level of cooking, I just love your channel ! I don't trust anyone else but you when it comes to these delicious recipes. Thank you as always your Amazing !
how long can these sit In the fridge? could I make them the night before and bake them in the morning?
+Maya Culley Absolutely! Great idea! Best to stay in the fridge, covered for 1 day and then you can bake the next day. Or you can also pop them in the freezer for longer too! :) Enjoy!
I think I would add dried cranberries. I hate raisins, but love dried cranberries.
Oh yes, these would be great with cranberries too! Love that idea! :)
Thank you! I love the french apple tart recipe, by the way. I'll give the pie dough a shot.
Looks very good and easy to make. I love your cheery smile and your presentation. thanks
I'm not a fan of raisins, but heck, Beth's doing it with raisins, so it must be good that way!
I so wished we had thanksgiving here in Australia. This look wonderful Beth.
Ha! You could host an American TDay of your own :) We have the menu for you too! Can you get whole Turkey's down there to roast? :)
Yes we can get huge ones lol and I'll make these dishes for Christmas. I love your recipe, thank you and happy thanksgiving to you and your family xox

Baked these multiple times and people love them, good work! :)

:) LOL!
Entertaining With Beth oooh I miss those! it's going to turn out great, I'm sure of it! you don't need any luck, it's gonna be amazing ;D
Aww Thanks for that :) Fingers crossed xo
Thanks for this awesome recipe! I made them into smaller bites (little squares) for a fun "mini" factor. Just one question though, and sorry if it has already been addressed: Could you use (non-stick) foil instead of parchment paper?
-- Thank you!!
Ii made this and it was amazing! I used a different kind of apple though and it was kind of plain, but still good
Can you make video on mashed potatoes
Congrats on 60,000 subscribers! It's too bad Thanksgiving passed a month ago in Canada. These still look delicious though!
Aw thanks for that :) Yes it's so funny we have different dates for Thanksgiving :) Well, you'll now be all set for next year! Ha!
Hi! Would you need to cut a little slit at the top of the pastry to allow some steam to escape ? Looks delishhhh btw :)
Good question! If this was regular pie dough yes, but I don't do this for puff pastry because I find it prevents it from puffing up properly. So there is no need and it will save you a step :)
oooo good to know ! thank you :)
Where can you find the puffed pasteries in Trader Joes?
Sure it's in the Frozen Food Aisle but the frozen fruit usually. It's great since it comes in sheets :) Perfect for this!
yummy n so easy they thought I bought it from stores n put it in the oven
Ha! And I'm sure the homemade was way better! :) Bravo! So glad they were a hit!
I just made these, they are perfect! My family love them! Thank you so much for the recipe Beth!!!:)
This recipe was amazing, and your video made it super easy to make !!!
Hi beth! I love your desserts and I was wondering what are your favorite brands of vanilla ice cream to use? I have a hard time finding a good creamy ice cream that tastes just like the restaurant vanilla ice creams! Thanks!
Oh yes I know what you mean :) My 2 favorites are Haagen Dazs and Trader Joe's French Vanilla. Both are really great!
Links to other videos don't work?
Ah yes. Best way to go would be to re-warm them in a 300F oven for 5-7 mins and they'll crisp back up :) So glad they are a hit!
Hi! I love your video! I do have a question, once assembled, can these be frozen until ready to use?? Thank you so much!
Yes of course! Freeze away and then bake as needed. You can pop them right in the oven, no need to defrost first :)
Looks amazing Beth! Love an turnover!
Cool I ate so much (I'm borrowing my moms acc)
