The longer FS version seems harder to find, and the shorter version seems like it wouldn't get much leverage. Have you found the shorter version difficult to work with at all?
@@chrisoffersen hello Chris, no bad experience with the short version that i used as well and selected to carry with me for trips. Despite the shorter length, it does well what it was designed for. The longee version is heavier and even more easy to use to break the bead. No stress if you get the small version : it is very handy.
When it comes to breaking the bead, I found that the first 2 prong one, get that fully seated and press it down. After that, hold the 2 prong one down, insert the 1 prong and then push the 1 prong to meet the 2 prong, try not to bring them together. If you keep the 2 prong one stationary, it works like a charm.
Super handy tools. I love them both, very practical and do the job with no sweat.

This is the way to do it. I tried as shown in the video for 10 minutes and the tool just slips out. Kuiperdasniper's method worked the first try.
