Would love a 2023 recap after wearing these 12's for a month. If Buckets said 10/10 they must be nice in hand. Personally I like the playoff 12's more or flugames over these Ronald shoes.
These are by far the Js i am most excited about in 2023 ; especially as i take a clean close to OG version of an OG Jordan over anything. Plus 12s are basically my favorite OG Jordan model and most OG AJ12 colroways are some of my all time favorite Js overall. Def needed this release as they were way overdue for a retro , need a Taxi 12s retro again sooner rather than later as well. Flu game / Bred , Playoffs and Taxis are my favorite colorways on 12s but Cherrys are right up there as well. Ideally I can double up on these but will be content with at least that personal pair.
I had the field purple pair as well and these feel way nicer in person. The box is a little different, the packaging is better, the leather feels better, the shoes don't dig into my achilles, the tongue isn't squeaky, and they just look so vibrant and absolutely incredible in person.
Not just that but Foamer is a true sneakerhead. He does wear kicks for clout or hype. He wear kicks cuz he loves them and he wears styles and colorways he likes. Not just what's hyped. I get it you gotta review hyped shoes here and there because it gets you likes and subscriptions but for the most part Foamer rocks some dope classic shoes like the DQM Bacon AM90!!
This shoe in this colorway is special to me. I remember I first saw the OG was when the Bulls played the Sonics in Seattle (in 1997) on NBC. Sonics head coach George Karl criticized Jordan for not driving to the rim and shooting more jumpers to preserve his body. Of course in MJ fashion he took it personally. I will say these are an upgrade from the 2009 retroes (which I bought for $140 back then). These look closer to the OG’s and the OG box is just the cherry on top 💯

I hit on the shockdrop thankfully and I can honestly and surprisingly say, I am impressed with the quality and materials on this shoe (at least my pair). These just feel different than most GR pairs for some reason, just seem to be a better made sneaker than normal.

The OG “Taxis” are perfect 10’s in my book & were the very first pair of Jordans I ever bought at the Fort Sill PX in the fall of ‘96. They hold a special place in my sneakerhead heart🙌🏽💯😂
I struck out on the raffles then my folks hit me up they got a friend that works at footlocker and they don’t want these so they put a 10.5 to the side for me. I got the employee pair. Well some raffles end tonight so if I win I might double up
this how i wanted to feel about the playoffs 8s but i had to resell them cuz my true to size cop happened to be too big, im having a serious issue with sizing these days.
Sorry that happened but they restocked 8’s and resell is barely above retail. I went half size down on 8’s and playoff XII’s fits like a glove. I think Nike making retros bigger or my foot slimmed down because a 12 runs big on all 2023 retros
picked up 2015 aquas theyre so much better then these 8s...also picked up cherrys in a 9 this morning, they fit perfect, def runnin a lil big on certain models, we have to try on our shoes before purchasing!!!

100%, these were a 10/10 release. The overall quality and construction of the sneaker and the nostalgic box made me giddy when I cut back the tape from shipping. Cuts of leather are clean, no running glue, no drippy paint spots. These sneakers are flawless.
First Jordan I ever had was the taxi but I always wanted the cherrys because red is my fave color 🩸🩸🩸. Definitely a must for me so much that I doubled up and I never double up.

Don’t sleep on that Gamma Blue color way of this silhouette. This one is the pinnacle color way, but for me at least, the Gamma is up there as well. I’m waiting on mine to get here and super excited!
9.5/10 I wish they would make the tongue a bit longer and shape a bit bulkier like the og. 1996/1997 season was the year I really understood who Michael Jordan was as a kid who was born in the early 90s.
