Sweeet. Good choice of caliber also. Over the last 4 years, there has never been a shortage of.308 ammo. At least not in my area. Always lots of it on the shelf.
I'm impressed. A nice looking rifle and seems to be a good performer. If I was in need of another deer rifle I would seriously consider the 334 in 308.
I looked at one yesterday and almost bought it. Will be getting it for my son for his birthday in a couple months. Very impressed with the stock and everything I’ve seen as far as shooting. Will adjust the trigger as needed.
Thank you for this info!! Man what a sweet little rifle!! Saw this thing today on the gun rack and had to find out more info! You nailed it with your review. Thank you for the heads up on the trigger!
Thank you ! If you don’t want to break the bank but you want a gun that feels “old school and real” this is a great option. The Turkish walnut is beautiful !
The trigger is terrible and there needs to be an aftermarket trigger for it. It averaged 5.5 lb pull on mine. I removed the front spring and this made it 3.5lbs with the safety working fine on drop testing. Get the wood stock because it has a 14.5" length of pull and if you need it to be 13.5 length of pull, a gunsmith can easily cut it down. On a plastic stock, it isn't that easy to do. It's a great rifle for it's price.
Are your scope rings med or high? I was looking at a Burris Fullfield II 50mm, and was hoping to get it on med rings, but if your 42mm barely clears….i wonder if i’ll have to go highs…?
The wood on those are really attractive. I ordered the synthetic stocked 6.5 cm because I'm terrible about beating up stocks and I have a 30 cal rifle already. Hopefully mine shoots good like yours
That’s a great price for that rifle. Where did you get it? Best price I’ve found for the walnut stock version 334 is around $450. Enjoyed your video and great shooting.
Thank you! And I got it at academy sports and outdoors on a hot deal! But I do know their regular shelf price is 399.99$. Hoping to catch the 6.5 cm in walnut there soon and test it next !
I have the Stevens 334 in walnut stock in 308 and the 6.5 creedmoor. I just recently bought the Henry H015 in 30-30. It’s a really nice single shot rifle similar to the handi rifle. You need to check them out.
Nice set up, I myself like the burris line up of scopes. I have a couple of the turqua rifles and a few of the stevens actually same gun however the turqua have 24 inch barrels man do they shoot lights out. Can't beat these rifles. The Turqua has an adjustable trigger, Stevens for some reason put lock tite on the adjustment screws. That just did not make any sense. Regards
I have been thinking about the turqua next ! And yes Burris is always my go to for a quality budget scope especially for their lower end ones great for the money !
Yes it is very possible ! I’m still fairly new to reloading so I will have to tinker with a couple loads/bullets and see what I can do! And I’ve seen some as low as 110 grains but never tried any that low.

I bought one , I didn't need it but it's more about want than need lol
Thanks for your review on this gun! God Bless.
Thanks for the video. Nice to see one on the 308. Looks like it shoots excellent. Great job.
Yes sir , thanks for watching brother!

Awesome will make an awesome gift in my opinion ! 👍🏻

You’re welcome glad it was helpful!!
I have this same rifle in 308. Love it
I have the synthetic model in 6.5 Cr, and I haven't tried it yet. The 308 would haven't been my first choice. Congrats. Dave & The Girls
Thank you , let us know how the 6.5 cm performs !
Thanks for the information brother! Sweet rig for 350 bucks!
You’re welcome , thanks for watching the video !
Good video, I have been shooting a 270, thought about getting a 308, looks like a nice rifle, the stock looks really good.

Im looking to get a 308 for next deer season and i think you helped me make a decision. Thanks Brother!!
You bet , glad I could help !!
You'll like it, I really like mine
@@oldArmyVet Thanks Brother. I'm definitely gonna get one pretty soon!!
@@tigercat73make sure to keep it oiled. I have seen many reviews that they can rust very fast and the bluing leaves a lot to be desired
Nice gun. Love that wood stock.
Thank you , it’s beautiful isn’t it ?!
That stock looks damn good! Seems like a hell of a bargain for the money.
Thanks man it sure is !
Shoots like my t/c venture 308. Outstanding!😊
Beautiful tack-driver! Lifetime keeper!!

Hey man they’re mediums. I would say you’re going to have to run highs to fit the 50 mm scope !
@@bloodbrotherspursuit6658 thanks for tip. saves me time and money 👍🏻
@@bloodbrotherspursuit6658 I was wondering the same thing. Thank you.
The write up on the Savage website of this bolt action rifle says it’s a 1/11” twist rate. What grain bullets were you shooting?
Federal Premium Gold Metal Match 168 gr Sierra Matchking

You got a bargain. Mine cost 400, with a 10 dollar mistake in my favor...👍😁.
do you know if it comes in left hand?
I’m not entirely sure but through seeing them online etc I have not seen a left handed one yet unfortunately.
Impressive!
That’s what I said !!
Do you know if they make it in a light caliber like 243.
The 3 calibers they make now are 308, 6.5 cm , and 243 !
We adjusted down to 3.8 lbs, hand load with 1/2" groups
How high of scope ring did you put on it. Like mediums or highs.
Medium Leupold rifleman’s set that scope right where I like it !
@bloodbrotherspursuit6658 thanks it looked good and very nice Groupe you shot to by the way
Medium rings if you are using a 50mm you might have to use high
Im impressed too
Can you reload and get a better tune out of it. Whats the lowest grain available in 308 if u handhold it
Yes it is very possible ! I’m still fairly new to reloading so I will have to tinker with a couple loads/bullets and see what I can do! And I’ve seen some as low as 110 grains but never tried any that low.
What a deal!
Absolutely right !
Great video!
Where did you find it for 350?.. ive not seen one in wood for that low...only the synthetic version...normally the walnut ones are 399 and up
Hot deal at Academy sports.
Whats the other rifle?
What size scope did you have on the rifle?
It is a Burris Droptine 4.5-14x42 scope.
BEFORE you buy one make sure you can get an extra mag for it. I have looked everywhere for them no one has one.
Savage rebrand made in Turkey?
Wow
Nice looking gun
Whootee whoo has review and ron spoomer
I seen Whootee’s great review and it was for a 6.5 creedmoor not the 308. I haven’t not seen Spomer’s yet I’ll try and find it. Thanks.
Looks way better quality then the junky Ruger Americans
If it had the savage or ruger accutrigger just some kind of slight upgrade to the trigger , it’d be the ultimate budget rifle !
@@bloodbrotherspursuit6658 I agree
When Savage starts making them over here I would consider one, but I won't give my money to the enemy/Turkey....
Lol
Nice ... wanna see that shotty behind ya group? :)
That’s actually a 223 😏 may have to do it next !
@@bloodbrotherspursuit6658 ah thought maybe it was h&r rifled slug. Ive got one but havnt put any real time on it. My shoulder is telling me no lol
