The only thing I really hate about the old gen version is that one track from the tutorial that's repeated over and over and over again throughout, like 90% of the game, it gets genuinely annoying
I had the PS2 version and didn't get the Xbox 360 version for years. I loved playing this game. In recent years I bought the Wii version as a nostalgia trip. Was always trying to find the spider emblems in the game to get the black suit but was always a few short. It wasn't until I got the game again on the Wii where I used a walkthrough to FINALLY get the black suit again.
If this was released on snes and n64 gen consoles I'm pretty sure that snes gens would have the gba version and n64 gen would have ds locked to 30 fps as well as Xbox and game cube would have psp version
I'm just learning about what a TAS means. So it's a sequence of buttons delicately and timely picked up and set in an emulator to perform the slickest, fastest gameplay? If that's the case, why is it useful for others? Other than to watch it?
How can i get past the stupid getting rid of the bomb mini-game with the circular motion of the wii mote? I'm using dolphin emulator but that thing is getting on my nerves, i can't seem to find a way to do it no matter how many times i change the controls.
In 5.0, I had set a button to tilt the wii remote back (so it's facing straight up). Then set swing up, down, left, and right to a joystick. You can then spin the bomb by holding the button to tilt the wiimote up, and rotating your joystick.
@@Natetheman223 what if i don't have a joystick? Can't I just do it with the mouse?, that's what i did in order to play Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles
Recently beat spiderman 1 and 2 on gamecube and enjoyed both. Heard the wii version sucks. Is this game even somewhat enjoyable on the Wii or should I just get the xbox 360 version?
Hey, second comment here (sorry, lol). I know this is TAS but the swinging seems really fast even when you'd have all the upgrades (well, at least the ones for speed increase), so do you have any tips to swing that fast humanly?
Well the main problem is that the web swinging in this game is downright bad. If you watch my world record speedrun for this game, you can see me mess up the swinging constantly, and I have more experience playing this game than... maybe anyone, honestly. If you've ever played Spider-Man 2, don't expect any similarities between that game's web swinging and this one. Half the time you web swing, the web ends up being straight above you, behind you, or below you and makes a really botched swing that usually ends up putting you in a really awkward spot. This game has a single one-up over spider-man 2 - you can maintain your speed around corners by wallrunning. And that's it. There is no way to swing fast. You have to just hope the game favors you enough to not give you the worst webline in all of existence.
@@Natetheman223 Rip RNG. I saw your previous run, but your swinging was far better than mine there, lol. I thought it would be some obscure method like Web of Shadows', lol. But yeah, RNG bad. I have always been weirded out by how bad SM3 is compared to SM2, the PS2 versions, because the former came after the latter.
@@Natetheman223 Still doesn't excuse how bad the game is compared to its PC version. Game production stuff, so nothing really more to say about the reason. Btw, will you TAS SM WoS Wii version? Not tryna force you or anything, I'm just wondering.
I actually prefer the wii version of sm3 to the pc version. Unless you're talking about spidey 2 for pc, in which case, that game was indeed quite bad. I have definitely considered TASing wos wii, but there are a number of roadblocks. - The game crashes a lot - when swinging fast, the game can freeze for 5+ seconds at a time and you lose all of your momentum - it is a very long game - it desyncs frequently
Played both the old gen and next gen versions and honestly, the old gen version was a much better game in terms of gameplay.
I like both versions.

It's good to entertain others, figure out the best possible time for a game, and find strategies that may or may not be possible to be done by humans.

The thing is, both versions suck. They're each enjoyable in their own way, though.

Well, the guy who designed the swinging for spidey 2 was fired before the production for Spider-Man 3, so they fumbled a new system together.
