Greetings from the UK. I've become a regular viewer of your channel thanks to the TH-cam algorithm. Love the subject matter of slavery and also charity loans. Interesting and inspiring content and I'm so happy it is in the English language as well. More like this please.

The same way that slavery question was honestly answered and deconstructed at the beginning of the podcast is the same way you should address the underage marriage issue. For new reverts, especially young women that may have been sexually assaulted that may be a sticking point for them, not everyone is trying to be nitpicky and negative in asking that, and it’s perfectly fine just answer it in good faith

Salam, I’m not a scholar and inshaAllah Dr. Shadee will give a better in-depth answer. Until then, I hope this is helpful inshaAllah.
There’s two broad approaches re: the age of Aisha (r.a.). I think they’re both valid. The first is less common but simpler. And that is the age of Aisha was likely in her teens when she married the Prophet ‎ﷺ and the claim that she was 9 years old is mistaken. Dr. Jamal Badawi did some research on this and believes her age was actually 16 years old. Because Aisha lived long before birth certificates and recording exact dates of birth were common, age was a guesstimate that could be wildly inaccurate sometimes. With Aisha (r.a.), we know she was past the age of puberty when she married the Prophet ‎ﷺ. Harsh climates delay puberty. Girls start menstruating age 14-16 in the world’s poorest countries- assumably similar conditions to 7th century Arabia. Also there was a report that she was 10 years younger than her sister who was in her late 20’s at the time, making Aisha (r.a.) as old as 18 when she got married. W’Allahu A’lam (Allah knows best).
The other approach, which I also agree with, is to look at Aisha (r.a.) and who she was. Aisha(r.a.) was known to be both mentally and physically mature at the time that she married the Prophet ‎ﷺ, regardless of her chronological age. She was not only intelligent but a prodigy and one of the greatest scholars the Ummah has ever produced. She transmitted over 2000 ahadith, among the highest of all the sahaba. She is revered and loved as one of the Mothers of the Believers. She was a very strong woman, fiercely loyal to the Prophet ‎ﷺ. And though she was wrong in fighting against Ali (r.a.), she even lead men into battle. This was not a traumatized, abused little girl! This was one of the early leaders of Islam! Furthermore, the accounts of her love of her husband, the Prophet ‎ﷺ, and his ‎ﷺ love for her, are an inspiring ideal for marriage for Muslims and all people.
Allah knows best. Hope this was helpful, InshaAllah. We need to bug Dr. Shadee to give his own response, inshaAllah.

On the academic note, wrt guiding reverts to enroll into essentials course, it is imperative that ""Ashari-Maturidi kalam"" and mujasima chapter be included.

In that case, couldn’t one state that Christianity (or Judaism) is the ‘true’ word of God based on that logic, since it’s older?!

Genuine question for Dr Shadee. You claim that ‘wahabis’ exaggerate claims of shirk in this stream and also claim that swearing by other than Allah is not shirk. I can bring to you an authentic Hadith of Nabi(s) where he himself called this action shirk. How do you reconcile this with your own views on the matter?
