I'm looking for a gold filled watch band for my Bulova accutron 1973 10KT rolled gold watch that I found at a yard sale. That Omega seamaster 300 is amazing! What a great find
Nice. I wore my 1969 Seamaster 120 for 40 years until it leaked and I couldn't afford to have it serviced by a factory authorized service center. They want $1200 plus parts. I should have my local watchmaker have a go at it. Probably both our watches only need disassembled, cleaned, and proper lubrication. I actually bought a replacement movement for mine that the watchmaker can use if it's in better shape. I notice yours is 17 jewels but mine is 22 jewels. That makes yours a model made for the USA market. The was a significantly higher tariff on watches with more than 17 jewels. I bought mine in Switzerland in 1971 for $63. Enjoy.
An awesome watch with an awesome story to boot. Forget the factory authorized service center. Independent watchmakers do a better job most of the time anyway. Do you research, find a reputable one and continue to wear that watch.
Here in San Francisco Bay Area there is a watch supply company in Jack London Square called Otto Frei. I would order parts (mid 1960's Heuer Carrera parts) from them all the time in the late 90's. Before the Watchco Sea Masters from Australia were becoming popular, I remember guys were ordering nos cases from Otto Frei and building Seamaster 300 clones. I think Swatch Group got wind of it and I think stopped supplying parts. You have a nice period correct example. Nice patina too!
I would only buy this if you can fix it yourself. A fourth wheel, a clutch wheel, a new mainspring, a full service, a sympathetic dial restoration etc, etc and it will be another $500 - $1500. I would put it on ebay and get $900 as parts
Caseback for a 165.024 will bring $900+ alone unless you can find a deal. Case, dial even in that condition, hands, bezel, crown. 3 grand unless you know a guy. I posted on a Facebook Vintage Watch site and was offered through private messaging $2500 to $3000 by two different people.
@@indianajeffs591 My point exactly - you have no idea if this is repairable it may cost hundreds, not a problem, it may cost thousands, that may be a problem, or it may not be repairable at all. If you can fix watches yourself, you don't have to rely on paying others to find out.
$350?! I would've passed out on the spot! Ha ha! Good for you. Great find.

Is the Omega watch for sale?
Wow
Unbelievable!!!! Grail. I would have a very hard time trusting a local watchmaker with that one, but I’m sure you know what you’re doing 😅

I don’t mean to be rude but only the Omega was a great find.
