It doesn't matter how many views this gets, it will remain criminally underviewed.

Tyler, I just wanted to say I watched this two times in a row on my first sitting, and now a third time. Wonderfully put together - it actually feels like a film from the 1970s remastered in high definition. I know how difficult film is to work with compared to digital so mad props to you for breathing life into the medium in this day and age. Keep up the great work!

Thanks so much. That was for sure my goal, to create something that's more timeless and looks/feels like it could have been shot at any time. Real fanboys recognize the changes, but the vast majority of audiences won't..
We have many more films coming in a similar style. We're even going to do a film in 4x3 and mix in some old 16mm footage of the railroads from the 1940's and 50's, fully restored. It's really going to be a hoot! Stick around for more of that content.

I am absolutely blown away by the production quality in this video! Perfectly captures the magic and timelessness of the D&S!

The fact you actually used film is one thing. But it's all the other things - the music, the commentary - these things combined just make me want to stop whatever I'm doing and live beside this railroad for the rest of my life 👌👍

Thanks! Its truly a wonderful place. Last time we were there, we stayed right next to the line in Hermosa, watched the train go by as we ate breakfast.

Thanks! We have another one already in the can, just waiting for some notes and final VO. Should be out shortly. We will also be shooting a MUCH larger film starting in October, which is all going to be 16mm. That will be more about the freight business of the Rio Grande and will incorporate footage from both the Durango and Silverton special train in October AND Cumbres and Toltec's special train in October. We hope it'll be enough footage, that mixed with other mining footage and some scripted scenes with actors, we can create a little film about the mines and the moving of material from mines to market. So stay tuned!

Such a great video! The combination of the classic film, narration, and choice of music is superb. Especially with the snow schemes at 8:05 and that almost seamless transition between fall and winter. Awesome job!
