Awesome! I appreciate the feedback from the video and am super happy to hear you are enjoying the game in it's wild current state. Your short story with the wizard was really fun and everything I had hoped would be possible using these rules. Crazy that you encountered the worst enemy possible, the Shadowed Rider! You actually could have taken it down a few HP with your mercenary companion! On the topic of the Spirit stat - you always start with available HP and Spirit equal to the max value in the stat for your character. So, for your character in the video it would be 5 Spirit and 6 HP. The max slot on the character sheet is to track the limit for your character as you can recover Spirit and HP on your adventure with things/items. I've made a note to clear that rule up for future versions. I've shared your video on my Twitter in the hope to bring more viewers to the Dungeon Dive channel that would enjoy the bountiful backlog of amazing content as much as I have! All the best, - Cody
Hey Cody, I have been playing around with this system too, thank you for clearing up the confusion about Spirit. Just a few more questions about Spirit, cause it seems like the human/elf bonus of +2 Spirit, halfling bonus of +3 Spirit is a little strong. A character with 8 spirit would practically never fail an encounter check. But maybe I'm reading something wrong. Also, I'm assuming the musical instruments with +1 S are healing items?
@@accessyourinnerlight971 Good questions. 1 - I've designed the game to be very generous with the Spirit stat as it represents the hope of player characters in the world and their will to keep on the path of their adventure. As you are not meant to be losing events all the time, you will more likely use the Spirit to add more to combat encounter rolls. Each Spirit used currently adds +1 to you rolls, making it a valuable source of strength against the myriad of difficult enemies. 2- The music instruments are currently written to provide +1 Spirit to your max. I do like the interpretation of using the instrument to 'heal' 1 Spirit, and will probably add that to the rules. Very good idea! Hope that helps.
looks like a fun one that pushes things a little beyond just journal prompts! totally honored Cody used my art for this book :) - i picked up Glide recently, which also looks fantastic!
Really love the ideas in this one. The art from Perplexing Ruins is always welcome to the eyes. I like that this is a solid hybrid of set mechanics and journaling. Will be keeping an eye on this one.
The Perplexing Ruins art really enhances the game. Haven’t had a chance to test it out yet but it looks great. Cody is a great game designer. Its a shame this was a failed Kickstarter. Ultimately I’m sure it will sell well when finished.
Each wound can debilitate your character, but wounds are possible to heal with items, as rewards for completing quests, and even chance encounters. It's a fun system that adds needed depth to the 'go to zero and then die' systems that people are used to.

I was confused by that as well.
Looks like a lot of fun
Lone Adventurer clued me on it and you just reminded me to check on it when I get home.

Yeah - it's a good combo of journal game with solid game mechanisms.
Cute little exploration exercise
These come out at a good time for me, comfy Saturday morning with coffee. Look forward to the ep from the thumbnail alone.
Enjoy!
Looks fun.
I'll have to check it out.
A gem of a game! Very cool art too!

Yeah. His art is great.
I like the wounds vs. HP mechanic. I might try that in some other systems.

Downloaded…..will add to the huge “to play” pile 😂
Oh god. Tell me about it.
Where can I get a small snap dice tray like the one at the top right?
No sure. This came with Dungeoneers. But if you google "small snap dice tray" there are lots of options.
it would really help if you included a link where to find this in the video description. Thanks!
