The Quasar (by Motorola) was a television set that was introduced back in the '70s. Its claim to fame was that it had its "works in a drawer". It was the beginnings of a solid state television, which heretofore had a lot of vacuum tubes inside. The appropriate answer, therefore, is, "Had her works in her drawers."
Man...if there's one thing I love about these old Match Game episodes it's Gene's and Brett's complete cluelessness (see 4:13 - 4:15 for an example) about virtually anything pop culture from the 1970's...except Brett's frequent references to marijuana. (Ok...now I'm done with impatient sarcasm :D)
@@garfield2439 Like Brett saying, "Who are the Beatles?" and saying it with pride that she's that ignorant. She knows who the Beatles are, she does it just to be clever when in actuality she makes herself appear obtusely ignorant.
I've never had a wart, but I knew what Compound W was from all their TV commercials at the time. It was the first thing I thought of. Strange that it wasn't considered the definitive answer.
Walt reminds me of an actor, but I can't think of his name. He reminded me of the show that actor was in, but I can't remember that either. 😆 but he looks just like him, 10 yrs or so older
and? I know you all like to pick on Brett even when there's nothing to pick on her for, but believe it or not, I've even seen your precious saint Richard say it
Huh.My first thought was of course Abbey Road, which was one of the answers on the board but not one the Panel suggested. My second thought was Abbey Normal, a reference to the 1974 film Young Frankenstein. I didn't get any of the suggestions the Panel had.
I love Mary Wickes.
She was funny on an episode of Sanford and Son as a maid.
Absolutely, I can't tell you the exact year or episode but if you get the chance check out her debut week on the show, she was on 🔥
Amazing that ROAD wasn't the top answer to ABBEY (blank).
Probably too hip for the room.
What in the blue unmitigated hell is Abbey Rents?
Apparently it's a rental place for equipment and party supplies rental
It's still in business they rent anything you could possibly want.
As of July 21st, 2022, Trish Stewart - still with us (aged 76) according to Mr. Wikipedia.
Compound "Fracture"!! 👍👏
Trish has no poker face.
It was cute though. Attractive people are allowed to mess up at will!
She might not have a poker face but she still got the head to head match right
On this date in 1992, Evening Shade tv series episode Harlan Deals A Meal with Charles Nelson Reilly as director of episode aired.
Watched it occasionally was so so

Yes, it's irritating, particularly what seems their pride in their ignorance.
@@brachio1000 5hwy think if they don't know about it then it's not important

Surprised that no one (except the audience), knew about Compound W...had to use it when I was a kid...guessing that none of them had warts...

Earl’s on holiday 🏖
I love it when Gene talks to the "slide it" guy! This time it's Dave not Earl.
Dave's not here man.
The show just isn't the same without Earl.
AccurateCrabLegs the guy in the back, Dave, should have yelled, "OUCH!" after he slid it so hard. It sounded like he hit his hand. Lol
Oh my.
um ok
Everyone who slid the cards should be called Earl.
I don't know why the audience would moan after Trish squealed. That only meant they matched.
Gene managed to miss that completely...
That was a collective groan, not a moan.
She should never play poker.
Keep Walt guessing a little longer

Gerald McRaney
@@ts.elliot5870 yes! I suppose that's who. I used to love that show Simon and Simon. Thanks!
Gene was the perfect guy to host Match Game. He's brilliantly funny and he has great patience dealing with screwball celebs.
Abbey "Road"!! 🙄🤦♀️
17:57 Hey Trish, it's not Compound H. It's PREPARATION H!
How could Walt NOT know that her name is Trish instead of Tish?! 🤦♀️🙄
(I actually thought of "Beach" Towel 1st and THEN "Paper" Towel... 🤷♀️)
Gene was always more excited when they got the 100 or 250 $ answer
Trish is always falling out of chairs .
Brett.....telling someone their answer is terrible.
Often.
and?
I know you all like to pick on Brett even when there's nothing to pick on her for, but believe it or not, I've even seen your precious saint Richard say it
@@kristabrewer6736 Well even you got to admit that Brett give Terri le answers also
@@kristabrewer6736it's called irony. Because her answers aren't good
So true Brett is so Rude,
I'd say the people in first class would get to eat the pilot (not like he could fly them out anyway).
9:09 "she had two pills before the taping"
You gotta be shittin me, not one of those weirdos thought of the phenomenally popular Abbey Road?
What is Abbey Rents?
I think it was a company in Southern California that rented furniture, etc.
Huh.My first thought was of course Abbey Road, which was one of the answers on the board but not one the Panel suggested. My second thought was Abbey Normal, a reference to the 1974 film Young Frankenstein. I didn't get any of the suggestions the Panel had.
I know, I can't think of anything associated with Abbey that doesn't refer to a convent.
It's actually disgraceful that NONE of the panel thought of that legendary album
I'll bet I know why he picked Trish 😋
❓
Good!! ANYBODY'S better than saint Richard
Trish got a head to head win with Walt. That is good
What the heck is Abbey Rents?
referring to a rental company
Walt ... could pass as a double for the actor...Gerald McRaney from the tv show " The Promised Land"
Not even close.
They both have beautiful ❤️ 👁️ and balding heads but that's all I see. They r both very good looking ☺️🙂
Has anyone seen the episode that Betty is talking about at the end of the video at 2:50?
