This is raw footage of westbound Lake Street, starting at ~30th Avenue South, and ending at Lake Calhoun. This was taken July 4, 2019, and we are posting this for posterity. Please do not comment on events in the news; there are other more apropos venues for such discussion. Thank you.

Thank you for posting this. It brings back memories how nice it used to be before riots. Lost so many beloved businesses.

Thanks for the video so many memories growing up in that area, as a teen I used to love riding my bike from lake Calhoun to downtown St.Paul, all thru Lake St and Marshall.

Thank you for posting. I've never been to Minneapolis or even the Central Northern US.
What a shame. At least you were able to document this section of Minneapolis prior to it's demise.
I'm surprised, traffic is extremely light.

When Kari lived in Minnesota, 15 years ago, she lived in two different houses within walking distance of the beginning of the video.

You should do Rout 66 all the way across country

Well, that would be hard to do since Route 66 never went all the way across the country. The original Route 66 went from Chicago to L.A. We have considered trying to do something with it though. Many parts of the original route are inaccessible or private. Other parts have been converted to interstate. It would have to be mostly a collection of videos of small towns and ghost towns that US-‘66 once passed through.
Also, since it’s all so far away, that makes it difficult. If it had been safe to travel during quarantine, and money wouldn’t have been an issue, that would have been the trip to take.
      Maybe one day.

DeadlyKnot Justin Scarred did a very complete video series of Route 66 a couple of years ago. I think it took him 2 months. He was trying to drive every accessible mile of it. And he stopped at all of the old attractions and ghost towns along the way.
