"Walk me through that" then listens for 6 minutes, what a truly good man, letting someone he doesn't even know speak their whole mind no matter their background
Brett has grown a lot these past couple decades. He has had a real positive impact on my life and I am forever grateful to have him as a friend. I love you Brother.
@@thetruthseeker8142 Anyone who advocates for people who have taken peoples lives in such a heinous manner that they got life in prison can rot in hell with them.
@@michaeloaks9905 these inmates seem to have a new mindset and belief in life, their past is their past, to be interviewed by bernthal has to mean they met some type of requirements of rehabilitation so to condemn them for things they done is wrong.. they deserve to be heard and are able to change themselves, when you’re young you do dumb things.
Love how authentic these interviews feel. Jon doesn’t judge them and allows them a voice to share their story. You don’t need to feel remorse for these men to try and understand their perspective.
Love from Scotland Jon, your interviews r information for the uninformed, keep up the great work, you must have an amazing team along for the ride with you! Xx
Jon Bernthal doing what a lot of people in his position won’t it’s truly amazing! I hope that your life continues to flourish and gets overwhelming bless as you continue your journey to bless others in need. Keep it up brother! 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
I think I drove past this prison when I drove from Houston-El Paso-Phoenix-San Diego-Sacramento. On that drive I saw around a dozen or more prisons. As a man who has spent a few months in 3 county jails this was eye opening… truly heart breaking.
Thanks Jon for this. This cut deep for me. Although I have been lucky to avoid prison, I have always thought that I would never find Jesus unless I was in prison. How sad that sounds, I still feel this in my heart.
Strangely, Shia LaBeouf in his interview with Jon said something interesting about hitting rock bottom & committing to change: something about how "bottom" is at a different level from person to person. For instance, a millionaire doesn't have to lose every penny to hit bottom. Rock bottom is a spiritual place, not a physical one. Also strangely enough, I pray you find your "rock bottom" sooner rather than later. Jesus is on the other side of the bottom....well, he's on the upside of it too but you get my drift. He's already done His part. It's our job to go meet Him at His level. The trip is just longer and nastier for some of us.
I was locked up in county jail. When out of no where I get a new crew Celly. His nickname was “ colombia “ he had came down from calipatria prison. He gave me the whole prison breakdown. The second he got to la county jail all the guards knew him. Some questions you can ask and some questions u just keep to ur self. I finally grew the balls to ask him how all the co’s knew him. He said I spent 12 years here before I was sent to calipatria. He was a lifer. Filing motion after motion to get a chance of freedom and he as denied every time. Such a nice dude but he did tell me he did a lot of bad when he was in the streets
What’s so cool is how he is able to describe his emotion from his past but as someone who served 17 years in California state prison, entering a 180 yard at 18 years old only compelled me to become more evil. At the time of going through my sentence I was unable to describe what I went through. Being more mature I can do so very profoundly. I remember lwopers having no hope but I also remember guys coming in with 16 months having just as lil hope
So would you say you learned to become a new better person, or more that you shed old BS behavior & thinking to reveal who you were supposed to be from the start?
I believe in god and nothing of coincidence everything is divine of course I was meant to be this Man I am today and the man I am continuing to become. I wouldn’t use the word bs but rather I shed the old me… beauty from ashes
Nice my buddy sold drugs during the 80s 90s and long story short the judge wanted to give him life for just that crime he rejected the offer 25 to life and took the last offer 10 years consecutive and was out and done federal he told me his connections would offer him keys up front and he said he had no more years of his younger self to throw away for nothing because all the money was gone. Now he's a good man with a big family 👪 staying away from trouble.
I could be wrong but I think some people especially men like this at some point deserve to be free again one day, I don’t know their story but at what point is enough, enough, they could come out and do amazing things that they just can’t do in lockup. They could save so many lives possibly
I got into my fair share of trouble as a teen and young adult but I've never gotten into serious trouble legally. What's wild though is as a first offender in Cali or alot of States these guys get hit with double digit number yet because of where I live I wasn't even stressing a year. The feeling of having your freedom taken from you is something else, it's something noone can prepare for if they've never been through it. These guys are never going home and they're willing to spend the time they have left trying to keep someone from landing in their shoes. That's tough.
Hopefully the full interview will be up here soon so we all can watch it, specially the one we can't afford it, and hoping to that some of the patreon and youtube monetary earnings [if any] would help putting money on these guys books, that would be awesome, but that's just me, much love and respect to Jon for bringing their good side of these men and to these men for opening up their hearts to help others with their lives.
