    Those tinplate coaches have so much more charm than the plastic ones. The thickness of plastic walls is not so becoming. Your videos are always a joy to watch.

    Thank you Oscar. Some great running today. It was nice to see the 2-6-2 and the 2-6-4 side by side. Also that was a nice box of bits, very useful items. David.

    Hi Oscar, What a treat?
    That session was a real comparison between Dublo and Tri-ang.... Which do I like best... I'm not saying? Don't want to hurt any feelings? Some of my best friends read the comments...
    I like to see the trains running on "up" and "down" lines... It's always with a childlike apprehension, that I see them converging on some part of the layout.. Wondering if everyone is on the right track? (They must be, or there would be a "short")... But watching all of the tracks, while two trains get closer, can still make you wonder? I love it !!
    See, it is so easy to become 'childlike', while watching (and playing with) "real" model trains? No wonder this layout evokes childhood memories so much in so many of us?
    Do the coloured LEDs on the control panel point switches, all change to the same colour as a route is chosen? (It's a bit hard to see the colours clearly all of the time on the video)... Or are you memorizing all of the point settings as you go along? That must be a harder job (I'm sure) than it sounds, given the distractions from a number of moving trains. Especially when you have all four main lines running?
    Great video as usual... Thank you.. Cheers, Rob

      Good morning, Robin Glad you enjoyed the playtime. As you say it is terrific fun, just trains running. The point indicator lights are currently set up to show if the points are set straight (green) or curved (red).
      Take care.

    Good morning Oscar, it's Martin from Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Hope you're feeling a lot better after your cold . There is nothing worse than feeling like that. I know when I feel like that everything stops until I feel better again. Anyway back to your amazing layout. It's always a Joy to watch your train going round, and all the different sounds from the locomotives, coaches, wagons, points clicking ,all bring back happy memories of my younger days with my own Triang / Hornby trains, and when i left school in 1970 and got my job on British Rail, I was only 15, but going from model railways to real railways was just absolutely amazing. Then when the driver of our goods yard class 08 shunter let me drive the locomotive, well I thought all my birthdays had come at once, I even moved a Black 5, number 45305 .( BR number) ( 5305 LMS number ) I only moved it a few yards ! At the time the locomotive was at Hull Dairycoats shed. I believe she is on one of the private steam railways, but i can't remember which one ? I have photos of me on the black 5 at Dairycoats and me on the 08 yard pilot. Happy memories and happy days when life was a lot slower and the world, to me, was a lot more peaceful than it is today. But getting back to your wonderful layout Oscar, thank you again for making my Sunday morning a lot better with your railway, and it's time for my tea and toasted tea cake. The time is 09.15 am on 26th, Sunday. Keep safe Oscar.👍🚂🚃

      Good morning Martin, I'm feeling a great deal better at the start of this week than last, thanks again for looking in and taking the time to tell me about your time on the railway, sounds like a terrific experience getting the opportunity to drive the class 08 and move an Black Five, especially as its escaped the scrapyard into preservation.
      Take care.

    Good one . Nothing like playing with trains . Some really good running there especially with Tri-ang locos going over these plastic frogs . Not bad for locos that are 60-70 years old !

    • @oscarpaisley
      @oscarpaisley  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good morning Russell, thank you again for taking the time to look in. Great to hear you enjoyed the fun on the railway, those large plastic frogs can definitely be a bit of a stumbling block from time to time. Sometimes it's just the way the locomotive presents at the frogs which causes a stutter and other times they will just run over really smoothly time and time again, I think the shorter the wheelbase the more problematic it becomes as the chances of all four pick up points being in contact with the rails reduces, the shorter wheelbase models don't tend to sit as square on the rails, the older princesses are nicely on the rails with just right amount play in the axle bearings making for very smooth running.
      Take care.

    Hi Oscar, Great fun watching trains running again. Do you have a Triang Hall or Triang Hornby Sir Dinadan.. I cannot remember ever seeing Them. Thinking of the Sir Dinadan it would be nice if you could run a Southern Railways themed Triang session one day. Thanks again for another great video. They make my Sunday mornings.

    Hi Oscar, I thought when the Dublo suburban coach uncoupled and came to a stop at the platform by itself a couple of times, it did a pretty good impression of a slip coach in action. A new Dublo action feature maybe? All in all a very enjoyable running session. All the best Guy

    Wonderful start to Sunday Oscar. Great running session. I have problems with coaches randomly uncoupling sometimes. Not sure whether it’s uneven track or wonky couplings. Thanks for sharing. Roy.

    • @oscarpaisley
      @oscarpaisley  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Roy, thanks again for looking in, Glad you enjoyed the running on the railway, all the old favourites... uneven track and wonky couplings, sometimes it can be a combination of both, especially with new items to the railway. There are some combinations of couplings, track and points, which take a little sorting out. I'm fairly happy with the track work it's as realistically flat as old 3 rail tinplate track is ever going to be, although I think track dose shift from time to time. That rake of coaches had been together on the railway for a while and haven't given any real problems since setting them originally. I found items a new to the railway adjustments are usually needed somewhere along the line, wheel hangers/couplings, some of the three rail plastic couplings have terrific bends in them.
      All part of the fun.

    Good morning Oscar, that was a good running session its nice sometimes just to have a play. I think it's great you can keep track on so many trains, points ect, your head must be racing to keep up. The Railway loo😢great all seems to be working smoothly, (hope that's not putting the mockers on) enjoyed this morning session those two suburban trains looked good together. Take care Oscar see you next time, Eddy xxx

    Hi Oscar, great layout and video. What size is the layout? All the best, Jon

  • @kellyashfordtrains2642

    How about running two trains at the same time in opposite directions? One steamy takes a goods train smokebox first forwards, and the GWR Castle takes her coaches backwards tender first in the opposite direction. It gets boring running trains in the same direction all the time. Try it and see if it works for you. I hope the little red tank engine will get a run sometime, it would be a shame to leave her out of the fun.

    Great, as ever! But I really do wish you would pronounce Hornby Dublo correctly as was originally intended - it's not "Double-O"; it is pronounced "Dub-Lo". Both the Hornby and the Tri-ang are "Double O" scale (though correctly, it is "Double Zero").

    Hi there Oscar ,, so the super 4 track is a like a dark chocolate brown in colour and the series 3 track is black in colour.
    Is this the same all over the world or is it just a Triang Australia & New Zealand thing as thats what is embossed on the undersides of them as i have lots of both types of track and i do like the black track but the brown track I have here seems like they have a bit more flexibility in them than the black track does.
    Have you noticed this ? Do you think it maybe because they are a different type of plastics maybe ? Any help appreciated.
    Cheers from John in Australia

    • @oscarpaisley
      @oscarpaisley  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John, all the Series 3 I've come across here has being black track bed and super 4 has all been brown track bed, I'm unsure if it was produced in different colours in different markets, there are differences in shades of the Browns for the track base, probably more accidental as batches of plastic changed or shift with exposure to light. I have found some Super 4 double curves 3rd radius tracks I have, the plastic used for the base is exceptionally brittle, the ends of the sleepers drop away as soon as you look at them. These must've been made quite late on from what I read, they were introduced, just about the time Super 4 track gave way to System 6 .
      Thanks again
      Oscar
