1:20:00 Considering the possibility of Faegon and Daenerys doing a Dance of the Dragons 2.0, what if he saw a vision of two dragons, one red and one black fighting and burning the whole world down. Assuming visions of the future tend to be metaphorical rather than straight forward Bloodraven initially assumes it’s about Daemon and Daeron but gets more desperate as the Blackfyre line continues, trying to ensure the Red and Black Dragons never come to a fight
Bloodraven evolved into a kind of person who wouldn't worry about support or sucking up to bullies like Bittersteel. He became powerful not just by his accomplishments, but from within, by personality. He must have been learner and really intelligent to carve out his Space in such a hostile setting. He must have discovered and worked on his magical abilities and they in turn helped him to develop into a Bold as well as a ruthless personality.
Thank you for another great stream - is quite a nice way to forget about the spring sickness outside. As you mentioned BR’s progeny - presuming Melissandre is the heart shaped fruit of his love with Shiera - I always wondered how could this girl end as a slave and, although I can only base my assumptions on Bittersteel’s petty charcter, I can imagine the spurned Aegor Rivers kidnapping the woman who rejected him as well as his rival’s kid and selling them to the slavers in Essos.
That's a really good point, and I hope that's not what happened but given that Bittersteel is willing to invade Westeros over and over and send Daemon's children to their certain deaths, I wouldn't put it past him.
Joe Magician, We know at list another bitter character who sells her husband mistress and children to slavers, aka Cersei. I can’t help to wonder how the biggest spurned guy in ASOIAF would react if Lyanna was still alive and he would have to face the truth. I think he would kill both her and Jon in a rage fit and cry the rest of his days because of this. Bittersteel is as much a bully and a coward as Robert is, but with a sadistic twist and Jon Arryn’s taste for intrigues and alliances. If he could get Shiera and his presumed daughter he would extract the maximum of revenge and profit from the situation.
Interesting that Joe described how Shiera Seastar and Bloodraven sounds exactly like the descriptions of the Warlock's trees that make shade of the evening and Weirwood trees that make weirwood paste🤔🤔
A theory that I've come up with: Craster is Maegor Targaryen, the missing infant son of Prince Aerion Targareyen and Daenora Targaryen. Maegor was born in around 232 AC; looking at Craster's portrayal in the TV show, this would make him around the same age. Craster's official back story states: "Craster is the bastard son of a man of the Night's Watch and a wildling woman from the village of Whitetree. His father abandoned his mother after Craster was conceived, and when his mother tried to bring him to Castle Black, she was chased off by members of the Watch. His father's name is never mentioned." It's interesting that the time frame when Craster would have been born the maester at the Wall would have been a young Aemon Targaryen (baby Maegor's uncle) and the Lord Commander was Brynden Rivers (baby Maegor's great great uncle). I'm proposing that one of them, if not both of them somehow smuggled their nephew beyond the wall and left him to be raised by the wildlings. I don't know how/ why they'd have felt the need to do this, as this time period isn't something George RR Martin has written about yet; I'm hoping we get to find out in one of the future Dunc & Egg novels what happened when Aemon and Brynden went to the Wall. Seems odd the Craster was born around the same time this Targaryen baby who was heir to the throne went missing. Also, this *could* shed light on why Craster keeps his bloodline pure by marrying his daughters and why Craster needs to do this in order for The Night King to turn the babies into White Walkers, because they have next to 100% pure Valyrian blood.
My read on the personalities and relationships of the great bastards and Daeron is quite different. In the Mystery Knight it's mentioned that Daemon Blackfyre's eldest sons were horrible bullies, but they are also described as having been much like their father and his favourites. It makes me suspect Daemon and Aegor were a similar pair in their youth. I think they would have bullied young Brynden badly, and Daeron was the only one who could protect him - I believe Daeron was the brother Bloodraven loved. The hostility between these two groups of siblings is imo a brains vs brawn -situation. No one ever talks of Daemon's kindness, goodness or intelligence. No, his followers adored him because he was handsome, strong and good in a fight. He was all brawn. On the other hand Daeron and Brynden were physically unimpressive and considered weaklings, but wicked smart. I'm glad they won. But I just can't see Bloodraven having loved Daemon, when he worked tirelessly to destroy him and annihilate his childen. Seems more like hatred to me.
Argon 4 wasn’t much of a father, I think Daeron was much more of a father to Bloodraven and that why he was loyal to him and why he was close to Aerys 1.
@D D I don't think he loved Daeron as a brother but as a father figure. I don't think that he say Daeron as a brother. Daeron was a married adult before Bryden arrived on the scene and seemed to be a good father. In some ways Daeron's children were like Bryden's brothers and that was why he had such strong love and loyalty to them. It would explain some of the resentment that Maekar had for him since he had such a strong relationship with Maekar's older brothers and father. It took Maekar a long time to realize that Bryden loved his "family" was willing to sacrifice all for his family and the realm. Maekar had Bloodraven as his hand. Bloodraven seems to have an affection for Egg. It is possible that Bryden loved Daemon Blackfyre for literary symmetry but that is just supposition.
@@bagladysendtheferalspinner3761 I always thought the brother he loved was Daemon. Thinking that Bloodraven had to help take down the brother he loved and admired would be devastating!
I have an internal fanfic alt-U where Damon Blackfyre stands as Hand to Daeron and they work as a partnership to rule the kingdom, instead of breaking Westeros apart with the rebellion
I think King Daeron and Blood Raven were close. Think about how Daeron mother and uncle like his were close with Blood Raven mother. It could have been the foundation to their relationship.
One point in favor of the Boar being sent by Bloodraven could be that it's retaliation against Robert for sending assassins after Dany..? I'm not 100% on the one eyed "bastard" beast being skin changed from afar, but it could be an explanation of motive. And indeed, when Robert is on his death bed, he regrets it and wants to call the assassins off 🐗👌
A skinchanger who stays too long in his host can get lost. It appears that what makes Bloodraven and Bran special is an ability to skinchange into weirwoods. One time Bloodraven stayed too long in the weirwoods, and he consequently became hardwired into them, and cannot escape.
The bittersteel, bloodraven, and deamon comparison with Jon, Robb, and Theon was really forced. I don’t believe jon was jockeying for anyone’s favor in such an overt way at least and why would it make sense for bittersteel and bloodraven to try and gain Their half brothers favor when he’s very very clearly not the heir
Being the King's favorite child is a powerful thing at court, especially when Daemon was beloved and very popular among everyone else. The devotion he received during his rebellion didn't appear from nowhere, it was a result of his lifetime of being admired and well liked. He doesn't need to be the legal heir (a thing that the King was openly hinting he might be by questioning if Daeron was his son) for him to be an important person at court and among their unusual family group of bastards. Bloodraven was also never the legal heir to the Iron Throne, that didn't stop his opinion and favor being valuable to others as his standing grew. Same for Daemon. For instance, the "legal heir" Theon goes home to Pyke and yet it is his sister Asha that commands the respect of their father and the Ironborn court/captains. That she's not actually the heir isn't the end all of the group dynamics.

You and Aziz collaborate perfectly together, Cant believe I missed this one. Well catching up on this sleepless night. Cheers Matt 🍻
Just doing listened to the stream again. Aziz says Larrys has a foot thing at the 29:27 mark

Bloodraven was out here dealing with a cov*d plague, and still managed to get the girls TOGETHER.

as always you two make a great combo
Great Thumbnail for your video - next time maybe add the "Cool Sun glass Dude" cigarette too. LoL
Given his pension for killing Blackfires, I'm pretty sure the brother Bloodraven loved was King Daeron
Dark Souls reminds me of ASOIAF so much.

Is Bittersteel called Bittersteel because he was bitter about not getting the "good steel"?
I'm sure he was unhappy that Daemon and Bloodraven got valyrian steel while he got nothing.

Like Con of Thrones all over again.

Why are there ads every 3 minutes or so?
Ummmm not sure, let me check what TH-cam did. They automatically place the ads.
That is.........not a good ad strategy they implemented. Manually changed it, should be better now.
@@JoeMagician Thanks! Not complaining, just thought it was quite odd
Your Wierwood Sacrifices must have been insufficient. The Gods do tire of sheep and pigs... LoL
