    *Photographer Carmine Taverna Defines Street Photography in these words;
Street photography, a genre of photography that records everyday life in a public place. The very publicness of the setting enables the photographer to take candid pictures of strangers, often without their knowledge. Street photographers do not necessarily have a social purpose in mind, but they prefer to isolate and capture moments which might otherwise go unnoticed.
    ***Why are CCD cameras better?
CCD sensors create high-quality, low-noise images. CMOS sensors are usually more susceptible to noise. Because each photosite on a CMOS sensor has several transistors located next to it, the light sensitivity of a CMOS chip tends to be lower, as many of the photons hit the transistors instead of the photosite.

**The CCD was invented in 1969 at Bell Labs by Willard Boyle and George Smith. Since that CCD FILM LIKE SENSOR was sensitive to light it was used as image sensor for video and TV cameras. It could also be used as a memory device or analogue signal delay since it's principally a kind of analogue shift-register circuit.

Fine shots Carmine. It is easy to become a camera or lens snob who rejects all but the most expensive gear. Most cameras are better than the photographer.
17 years ago I thought my expensive D200 was a near perfect camera. Why did I think that because of all the new cameras that replaced the D200 can no longer take good photos? I mentioned before I recently traded a P&S for an excellent condition D200 and am having a ball with it. Yeah it still takes fine photos.
I have a few affordable lens suggestions. For $39 I picked up a 18-55. Perfect for general walk around and very sharp. For my N80 I purchased a AF 28 2.8 but it makes a very compact, slightly wider than normal option for the D200. That lens cost me $80. Not bad. Nothing wrong with a serious, talented photographer owning a Z9 and 400 4.5 but when I see folks using that combo for talentless snaps I shake my head. Thanks for the videos.

The 55-300mm is a big surprise ... it is very sharp ( if it has no slack in te zoom construction off course due to some bump of rough handling)

Nice video and nice photos! Thanks a lot for your videos.
I have owned a D3500 with 70-300mm and 18-55mm kit lenses, which is a better D3100, since early 2020. I've used it mostly for wild bird photography and my 18-55mm got stolen pretty fast so I couldn't use it (and didn't know it was very cheap to replace until recently).
    But I've since bought three "new" Nikons : Z fc, D500, D700.
The Z fc I bought early 2023 was clearly an impulsive buy and I use it mostly for macro and sometimes wildlife, and if I do street photography. It is however much easier to use and to get good photos with than for the D3500, mostly because of the EVF. Also, I bought it because of the retro look (the dials) and thought this would enable to shoot more in manual mode (only used the A mode on the D3500), which I now do. This camera is perfect for macro photography, with the EVF, especially for manual focus.
The D500 I bought in May especially for wildlife photography (birds). It is much more powerful than the D3500, also the options are much easier to use and it allows somptuous photos. But here also, I bought a 200-500mm especially to use for bird photography and the lens is a big requirement for the best photos. However, even with the kit lens 70-300mm I get better photos than with the D3500, but a big plus could be that I am now better at technicalities than I was first with the D3500 and before learning more about photography when trying to go manual.
The D700 I bought because of gear acquisition syndrom, along lots of AF lenses (f1.8, ...) and because of its reputation ("The Legend"). But I find it a very interesting camera, only I don't use so much as I would like to as it is rather bulky and more difficult to use than the D500. I plan to use it more in low-light situations, with the AD f1.8 lenses I bought pretty cheap.
Hey sorry about the whole story of my life but your comparison made me want to share my experience 🙂

Ah and I will give my D3500 to my mother to replace a point-and-shoot Panasonic camera she doesn't know how to use. I think DSLRs still are much easier to use than most point-and-shoot, with a prime lens and on automatic mode, and for older people, sometimes even easier than phones.

    Nice pictures :)
I had the Nikon D3300 for almost a decade and mostly used with the 18-300 VR DX lens (the newer one) - it is a fantastic camera. Some of the pictures I printed big and are at my wall.
I just upgraded to a Z7II. Will I be a better photographer? Maybe, because I love new and fancy technology, I now have more buttons and options and a learning curve for the new mirrorless system, especially the AF system. And this makes me wanting to take more photos. And taking photos helps to improve. Learning from a pro and understanding theory helps a lot, but one still has to grab the camera and take pictures.
If someone is low on budget, those 10 year old DSLRs are a fantastic option and it's great to see that someone points it out on TH-cam.

    Hi Carmine
    Nice video,!
My question is if it's the D3100 or any camera that makes a photo or is it the post editing? I'm not a fan of the 'Z' series for reasons that doesn't matter. I had the Z50 that I sold after sitting on a shelf for a year. I do have the D60, D70, D3100, D7100, and D5600. I sold some models I truly regret!! I have the Nikon 70-300 lens and is a great lens!!
    Best wishes
    Duane

Hello and thank you for subscribing. So, truth be told, it's the person holding the camera that is the artist creating the photo. Next, understand the foundation of this channel and photography itself, "the camera does not make a bad photographer a great photographer", a camera of $42 or $4,200. will not create an award-winning shot. Pulitzer Prize awards are handed to the photographer not the camera!
As far as post processing your work, well if you want to get the finest image you can after the shutter clicks, you absolutely must do some post work.
If you ordered a meal at a restaurant, would you like the meal better if the chef tweaked your food to the highest pro chef level? Yes of course.
      Be well.

You are a bad / good influence. I just scored a d3100 and a cheap 18-55 for $99 including shipping. Why not? Will report back in a week or two.
