      You notice that Jeeves rarely ever throws those ugly clothes away. More often he gives them to someone else. It's probably a class divide thing where Jeeves was raised to keep it, save it, or give it away and that even if it's not useful to you, it's useful to someone else whereas Bertie is probably from the wear it once and throw it out disposable income.
      At the very least, Jeeves probably thinks that as long as it's not collecting cobwebs in Bertie's wardrobe, it's not his problem.

    • @frasierfreak92
      @frasierfreak92 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      That’s what a Valet is. Jeeves is not a Butler! A Butler only serves food and drinks to his master, and lights his cigars or cigarettes. A Valet is a “Gentleman’s Gentleman” and does everything from ironing his clothes to running a bath or even shaving him. A Butler would generally be a Servant in a larger household and have several footmen working under him, but not be particularly skilled in much other than serving drinks and food. Jeeves is his employer’s only staff and does everything! He can Buttle, and has filled in for Butlers in the past, but that’s far easier than his normal job!

    Fry's Jeeves was always a little on the smug and drama queen side to be 100% faithful to the books. Still a lovely series.

    Thank goodness it was filmed in more smart times when people didn't need background laughter to spot a joke.

      This show was released right around the same time as “A Bit of Fry and Laurie” and “Blackadder,” which both featured laugh tracks, so it has nothing to do with the time or era.
      I do, however, agree completely on dislike of canned laughter.

    • @PGHEngineer
      @PGHEngineer ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Yes.
      He's the man that always gets Bertie out of whatever terrible fix he's in.

    • @cameronjames3499
      @cameronjames3499 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Well Bertie, effectively, is simultaneously the protagonist and his own antagonist. While Jeeves is a "meta-tagonist" (patent pending) who facilitates a resolution and a progression to the next caper/scandal/confluence.

Knowing that I love A Bit of Frye and Laurie 😢.... I feel foolish. And I want it back. So... I'm gonna ask my aunt if she picked it up off my porch after I moved lol
