Amazing video. Keep up the good work
Thank you very much.. Kind regards .. Jeff
Hey Jeff I just got a new job and need transport back and fore so I’ve invested in the same 48v 1000w kit but I’m guna use a 1500w controller and also a 52v 19.5ah battery. Man I can’t wait
Hey Connor, sorry for late reply... was away with work training course, oh that's a nice set up, I have the same 52v 20ah battery, honestly I go all around London on mine, some days I've covered around 30 miles in town and still have 50% battery left! Have you got any pics or vids of your bike? can't wait to see something? speak soon, Jeff
Raazzzzz go on jefff
Looks like good acceleration ❤
Wow yeah mate this is actually sick.... literally DIY good effort for your 1st try
Thanks so much.. It's still holding strong 500 miles later to date!
Hi, is the only additional thing that you need to buy a battery? Thanks.
@ryant1236 Hi Ryan, Yes just the battery is all that you need, but, for safety I'd advise buying a Torque Arm if you are using the rear wheel kit.. you can get them on Ebay or Amazon for around £5 - £8, Keep in touch and let me know how you get on with building the bike up! Good Luck, Jeff 😁
@@jeffjhcom Thanks for the reply. Another question, would it be dangerous to put a 28” wheel on when the front wheel is 26”?
@@Idristutors Hi Ryan, well I wouldn't personally as most frames are made for certain things... however, some say it's fine when I looked online... I don't want to say yes or no, best to Google the question and read some different opinions... personally I’d use the wheel size that come with the frame... would you be getting a 28 inch ebike wheel kit then? Most of the Voilamart are 26 inch, although I think they are starting to do different size wheels, Mine is 26 inch, let me know if you are going to change wheels, but I think it's risky and dangerous. Jeff
Has anyone built their own Ebike yet or thinking of it? Please comment and tell us all about it! I can't wait to discuss! Also, Please use my links under the video if you think you are going to buy the kit, It helps me and the channel etc, this Is the Link to buy the kit: amzn.to/4dvbvcn
Haha mega. Another level of pimp my ride
Ha ha..! Yes!! 😁
So you can reduce the pedal assist power down from 5? I've got this kit and for some reason changing the power setting doesn't reduce the power...
Hi Sam, that's strange.. do you have the power restricted to 250w on your controller? or running at 1000w? are you using the SW900 LCD display as well? Having it at 250w is the only reason that I can think of whereby changing the Pedal assist settings won't make any difference?
@@jeffjhcom how were you able to change the wattage?
@@tayosterling8447 Hi ya, If you watch this video it shows you the display settings: th-cam.com/video/Zf5jUHV6DQU/w-d-xo.html
@@jeffjhcom you.legend mate worth the new sub 100%
Hey mate, have you got a video or a picture of it all tidied up now trying to look for inspiration since I have the same build on how to hide cables etc.
Hey, my friend, how are you? Yes, I'm going to do a follow up and a ride out video soon, look out for it, hoping to get it done asap... so, you have the same build? nice... do you have any pics or vids? I'm on Instagram as well... @jayphotovideo
Do most kits and separate batteries have universal fittings?
Hi ya, no they are not all universal, but you just change them or join the 2 copper wires together just like anything else electrical, you can see the red and black wires attached to the white connectors in my video, I just cut the connectors off as they were different and used a block terminal... hope that helps? Jeff
@@jeffjhcom cheers yea did help 🤙
There are kits that come with battery packs which solves that problem... But they mostly top out at 750W (and many well below that).
If you're going to use it in public roads though, check your local laws. Many countries and states have limits in the 200-300W range, and you're probably best off starting with a legal kit first to see what sort of attention you get from the authorities...
Hi wondering if you can help me I have the same kit on mine as soon as it goes over about 30mph the motor starts vibrating every time I built one a few years ago and don’t think that one did it it doesn’t do it if you lift the back wheel up and test at full throttle just when your riding it. Do you know if yours does the same? Thanks
Hi ya Sam, How are you? Yes I run the Test for you by lifting the back wheel a good few times, no Issues whatsoever, seems like it's just the one you have if your previous wheels didn't have that Issue.. maybe it won't be a problem if you're not really doing 30mph speeds.. I hope you can get it resolved anyway, all the best, Jeff
Mine does the same thing after putting on another tire after the original one wore out. I think its the tire
Just out of curiosity what size battery you was that triangle battery it worked out perfect for the first time ebike. Heck I had nothing but problems with my first time. Live an learn
Hi Simon, I bought the 52v 20ah battery from Unit Power Pack.. you can get the 'Hailong' one's which are 52v 13ah for much less money, obviously the more 'Ah' the more range you can get, but I think 13ah is fine for most people.. Apparently, there is a difference between 48v vs 52v.. I'll put some links here so do check them out.

hey where do ya recommend getting the battery now a days?
Hi ya, Yes well if you are getting the 1000w kit then the 52v battery over the 48w is better, I have the 52v from Unit Power Pack, they are one of the battery makers that I trust to make a quality product. I have the Triangle battery from them, but, I can't see them being sold anymore and to be honest I wouldn't buy a Triangle one again as it's better to have the downtube style that you can easily take off of your bike and put it in your bag before locking up the bike, the triangle one is too clumsy to take off. So, when I replace my battery I would buy this one from Unit power pack, It's a perfect battery specification and price, I Hope this helps you, regards, Jeff >> amzn.to/487f071
Can you ride this in the rain? Im curious whether I'd have to waterproof the controller?
Hi ya, If you put the controller in a bike bag, maybe a pannier rack bag, a frame bag or the bag that comes with the kit itself then you'll be fine... make sure the wires that connect to the controller are also covered up.. I've rode my bike in the rain, no probs, look at my video and see how I have my controller in a bag, Jeff 🔥
Hi mate great video .. I've got a 9 sprocket mesh on my bike do u think my 9 mesh will fit on hub ?
Thanks Mate, I think maybe take the 9 Sprocket off of your current wheel and fit it to the Hub wheel, as long as the gears can change properly and there is no friction between the sprocket and wheel frame dropouts then you should be fine as the Hub tends to be wider than the wheel hub that came with your bike.. any problems then you'll have to remove the 9 sprocket and use the 7 sprocket that comes with the Hub.. If you do that then not all of the gears can be used, but to be honest people don't change gears as it's now an Ebike, so maybe using the 7 sprocket that came with the ebike kit is the way to go, I hope that helps.. good luck with your build. Jeff!
Thank u jeff that's a big help 👍
Hello I built a voilmart 1000w kit today and no your 9 won’t fit I had the same problem you can use the 7 provided with the kit but the hub rubs on the derailer so you’ll have to adjust that and you can’t use gear 8-9 or it will slip off the cog but overall it still works really well I can pedal and use the gears perfectly
do you have to pedal from a standstill to get going? or can you simply just twist the throttle to make it move?
Hi ya, either, with pedal assist you just pedal as someone usually would and the motor will kick in... or, you can sit on the bike and twist the throttle to pull away, my advice is to not switch on the power until you are actually sitting on the bike... I've often switched on the power and then accidentally twisted the throttle when getting onto the bike and it's nearly gone off on its own down the road!!!! Be careful!!! 😅
@@jeffjhcom haha okay thanks, so in terms of torque is the 1000w system a pretty torquey one? ive ordered a 1500w kit and im hoping to do wheelies from a stand still, the mountain bike frame im putting it on isnt heavy and im like about 73kg
@@haks_123 Hi Ya, yes it has a bit of a 'pull' to it from Idle, however my bike frame is really heavy so I think with a lighter one it would have some extra pull to it (hold onto your hats!) 😂 To be honest I wish I had a lighter frame as I took online advice about a steel frame etc and it weighs a ton, I'm pretty sure a lightweight frame with torque arms wouldn't be a problem, I might just transfer the kit to a new frame! And that sounds amazing with your 1500w kit, when are you buying it? I love to see the lad's doing wheelies along the road! It's an amazing skill and as I do photography, I've often captured a few random moments of people doing stunts on a bike! I love it! Never really seen wheelies on electric bike though, so that would be good to see...! are you going to video some when you do them? I would love to see something!! Let me know! regards, Jeff
@@jeffjhcom thank you, and my battery just arrived today , just waiting on the motor/ controller combo now. And honestly wheelies are like 10 times easier on a e-bikes as oppose to a normal bicycle, and yes I will defiantly consider making a video of not only the build but also me wheeling it. I actually got two of my friends to convert their bikes into e bikes too, its cheap fun and who doesn’t like that 😁, thanks for the replies brother
@@haks_123 Oh Nice, what battery did you get? also, with the 1500w kit is it the same make as I have? (Voilamart) or another brand? I can't wait to see your wheelie vids! great that you got 2 friends to also convert! When is your 1500w kit expected to arrive? do you have any videos online of wheelies even without the electrics?
Hi,nice vid. Does the magnet sensor wheel go with magnets facing out or in. Cheers
Hi Steve, you go by the Arrows on the Magnet Sensor, you place it with the arrows pointing in the same direction that you pedal, then it will be fitted the correct way around etc.. hope that helps, Jeff
@@jeffjhcom Great,I bought a new bike but looks like they fitted it wrong. Thanks
Wonder if this works on a hybrid
There are Ebike kits for hybrids, with this kit it's more suited to a mountain bike frame as the wheel and forks are wider than a hybrid, but you can check the measurements on the Voilamart kit product to see if it will fit your bike... Most of the Voilamart are for 26inch wheels as well.. but you can get kits in different wheel sizes from other manufacturers, I hope that helps, Jeff
@@jeffjhcom it does help. I’m looking at one second hand for a great price with a great battery with it. If it doesn’t fit my bike I currently have, I’ll just have to get one that does lol. Thanks for the teply
You should build a box into the frame will look loads better
Hi Nick, yes I've seen a few box frame builds.. looks neater.. I'll have to buy some wood and some tools and see what I can knock together..!
@@jeffjhcom let us knows how you get on look at my old battery box on my TH-cam I used lipid b4 I got a battery the same as your but I took the battery out of the plastic case
You still using the bike, how's it going after some use?
Hi ya! It's been going like a dream! No Problems, I've done 1700 miles on it now. all around London most days! Still going strong! Thanks, Jeff 😁😁
What is the max speed
Hi ya, well the reviews say 35 mph, but that would depend on the riders weight, I'm 11.5 stone and I've had 24mph just by pedalling and then 28mph by 'partly using the throttle' and you can feel the power waiting to be used on full throttle, so I think you could safely say that it can go up to 35mph.. I just don't like to go above 28 mph as there are too many 'pot holes' on London's roads so have never tested it to it's full capacity.. but let me know how you get on with the kit if you get one.. regards, Jeff
I used my ego batteries. I can put 2 batteries at the same time.
Sounds like a good set up option! 😁Jeff!
Uhhh i mine does 28mph easy fsst why
Yo jeff how much does that cost ya?
Hi Krish, How are you? All in all it came to £600 , I had to buy the bike as my old one was a bit rusty, but if you already have a Bike then it would be about £400... do you ride a bike yourself? thanks, Jeff
@@jeffjhcom yea I'm thinking of doing this to my apollo creed 2015
@@KBIKESS Ok, I think the Apollo Creed is 24inch wheel? Mine is 26inch wheel, make sure you order the correct size.. they do a 24inch as well here >> www.voilamart.co.uk/voilamart-24-1000w-rear-electric-bicycle-motor-conversion-kit-ebike-wheel-lcd.html
How is it doing after a year sir?
It's done over 1500 miles now and I go all around the city on it., it's worth the money and do invest in a bigger battery for peace of mind, Jeff
@@jeffjhcom thank you
Hello Jeff Jay: Thank you for your video! How much did you send for motor and battery? Is the battery UPP - Unit Pack Power with Chinese cells? Any good and long lasting? Thanks!
Hi Jonas Meir, Yes I bought the whole kit from Ebay, I'll put the Links below.. it's been a good few months now and so far so good! Yes the Battery Is UPP.. it's been going like a dream and I do a round trip of 45 miles per week to and from my work and it's still on 40% charge.. I bought the 52v Battery as the controller can take more power.. I'll post the links here.. Wheel Kit: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224126209391 Battery: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/392996557131
@@jeffjhcom HibJeff Jay: Thank you for writing and sharing! Always good rides!
Upp power batteries are good mine still going strong I got mine from Upp on AliExpress that will do it with better cell if you ask them free post and no VAT or customs
@@revparsons3tl Yeah I think for my next purchase I'll use Ali express and yes UPP has a good reputation.
Great instructions. I have gotten up to 39mph on mine. I need some help. My LCD started coming on the second I turn battery power on. It shows bn3.6 on the screen where the OD is. At the bottom it shows 900. Power is instantly available to throttle before I turn on the system via the "M" button. When I turn off the LCD via the "M" button I get "OFF" on the screen but still have power to the throttle. I contacted Voillamart and they asked for more details. I included a detailed video of the system but they have not respond since. Has anyone ever experienced the LCD doing this?
Hi ya, how are you? No I am not getting any of your problems.. how strange? Did you resolve it with Voillamart as you said they asked for more details? regards, Jeff
@@jeffjhcom They are suposed yo be sanding me a new LCD. I will see if that is yhe issue when it arrives. Someone mentioned it might be the controller. Hoping not. But Voilamart said they would replace that if it ends up being the issue. I will keep you posted.
@@qaz9258 ok sure, let me know.. did you buy the kit directly from Voilamart or Ebay or amazon?
@@qaz9258 Ok yh, let me know asap.. am keen to find out.. regards, Jeff
@@jeffjhcom I got my replacement LCD from the Ebay seller/Voilamart at no charge a few days ago. It was the LCD. New one fixed the issue. Paying attention when turning on the LCD there will be a 1 second bn3.6 notification in the Odometer area. Also the word "OFF" will show for 1 second on power off. So the LCD was shot some how.
So have to say Voilamart has great customer service. Certainly seemed to want to make me happy. And did.
hello Jeff, all the kits on amazon don't seem to have that same LCD, rather one intergraded into the grip. did you buy the LCD separately?
Hi Cameron.. I bought mine on ebay and it came with the LCD.. the price has gone up now ( like everything else! ) but here is the link to the same ebay seller that I bought mine from.. he's accepting offers so you you can always try to reduce the price a little.. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224126209391
Hi ebay ebike kit is good or Amazon??
Depends on the prices at the time.. have a look to see what's a better deal for your wallet! Jeff
How do you charge these
Hi Jay, when you buy a battery for the bike it will usually come with a charger... I hope that helps? kind regards, Jeff
How fast
I think it does up to 35MPH but I only do 20mph, thats fast enough In London on the roads that are full of pot holes! I've had it up to 27MPH with ease and that's not full throttle, but it's too fast for me!
Hi
te hai il parrucchino.. si vede lontano 3 miglia
Hi how many miles roughly off a full charge
I get 65 miles with pedal assist only and about 45 miles on throttle only. Jeff
