    Thank you Daryn, Very nice detail of seal replacement. Will me doing my Kubota L3240 soon. If you have any special tips on disassembly prior to splitting feel free to share.

      The rollers I added on the engine helped tremendously to roll the 2 half’s apart

    Just had my MX5100 split by the local dealer for the same problem. Had to replace main shaft and transmission seal. Tractor only had 900 hrs on it. Cost a ton of money, seems like a bad design to fail so soon.

      What did the dealer charge? , I agree, one small seal and a bushing to keep 10 gallons of fluid in, is kind of sketchy.

      Looks like my Mx5200 is going to need the same repair. 580 hours.. How much did they charge you for this.

    I’m getting ready to change a leaking pot shaft oil seal on my old m4500 dt. Would you know if I can change that seal from the outside without taking off any cover at all? I was told I can pull the old seal off the pt with a couple of Sheetrock screws, clean up the shaft and slide the new seal on from the outside. I can’t tell

      I’d he afraid of scratching the shaft

    We're you suppose to pull the drive shaft out like that? Everything I read said it should not be pulled out from the rear of the transmission?

      There is a coupling inside the transmission that can fall if you are not careful. And you will have to dog it out with a coat hanger

    Quick question about the split pin plug...
    Just had tractor, Kubota L4330, split due to hydrolic fluid leak. 2300 hours. $1000 labor, $300 for 10 gallons hydrolic fluid, $100 parts. Replaced clutch while in there, $400 aftermarket. November 2022 prices. Trailered tractor home and still fluid dripping from split pin plug without even starting it again. Mechanic, I trust 100%, thinks maybe fluid dripping that got behind flywheel. Can I just remove the plug to allow whatever is left to drain more quickly? I've gone thru a box of maxipads in 2 weeks soaking it up!
    Could plug be defective? Replace it or a gasket on it? I do have those skills.
    Guess not all that Quick! Can't reach mechanic for another week.
    By the way, he said there is no front gasket but uses a form-a-gasket goo.
    Thanks in advance

      It’s just a shoddy design!

    I have a kubota l3240 in the shop right now that in doing this to, i have the lip seal and snap ribg out now. I've read through comments on other videos of some guys putting a rag over the shaft with some vice grips and lightly tappung the vice grips with a hammer for the shaft to come out, i dobt know if mine in particular is stuck or if im doing something wrong. What did you use to get the shaft out?

      I just pulled the shaft and it came right out

    On the mx5100 does the seat/fenders have to come off to split?

    • @daryncook
      @daryncook  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No sir it does not. The dash assembly will have to though

      I seen you pulled the shaft out but others/dealer say dont pull it out or you will have to split on back to get it back in. Can you explain that process a little bit. Thanks

      Had considered doing it myself, but will probably take to the dealer.

      Most difficult part is making sure no wires are stuck and ensuring the tractor stays in the same plane when splitting

    What do you charge for this job M59 TLB same issue

    • @daryncook
      @daryncook  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      With parts I charged right under 2500. I split and reassemble on my own. Kubota dealer quoted 1800 just to split (16 hours with 2 people)

      Did you get that seal replaced? My M59 is leaking like this, and my dealer said it could be $10k to fix.
