I'm an Ohio resident and I don't know much about chemicals but it seems to me that burning a chemical to "get rid of it" isn't showing any common sense. If you can get poison ivy from a bonfire, then you can get liver cancer from burning vinyl chloride.
What happened in Ohio is one of many globally.

@@MrWhitmen1981from my understanding burning vinyl chloride turned it into a toxic war gas I cannot remember which one I think it was tear gas maybe something else I can't remember. But I live in Ohio in Cleveland a hour from Palestine and all the way in Cleveland there was white grey dust all over the town it was on every car. And when it rained in Cleveland there were oil puddles everywhere I took video proof of it all as I document everything

I'm pretty sure they've got vacuum trucks similar to what's used in the oilfield to pull large volumes of liquid from tanks and ground spills. It was obviously cheaper to burn the chemical for the company.

Yes. They could have put out the fire and transfer the cars away by freight truck and an appropriate lifting rig. They literally caused a environmental catastrophy and released chemical weapon gas because burning it was cheaper. Why did they not bring in cooling foams and drop it onto the cars from the air? They burned for over 24 hours with out leaking anything and they could of waited on all kind of federal and other out of state aerial fire support during that time. They have 3 large rivers right across state lines they could of pulled water out of for bucket drops of water to keep those cool. But digging a hole and lighting it all up was best choice?
