    AMAZING transcription, François! I first picked up Ted's workbook "Chord Chemistry" in 1976. It changed everything I ever thought I knew about the guitar!!! 🎸 I'm still just scratching the surface all these years later! Thanks again, François!

    Thank you very much! You have done an amazing job, there is more music in this piece than in a whole comercial album.

    LOVE THE WORK! Way above any of my abilities. I might suggest doing anything by FRANCESCO BUZZURRO. His improvizations are just WOW!

    When I got over the technical aspects of the bad recording quality, I found beauty and aesthetics so deep to feel it in my bones.

      Thanks! I've put like 2 thousands hours in transcribing Ted Greene.... or maybe more. I'm starting to see where he's going.

  • @BD-ve5ru
    @BD-ve5ru 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Amazing as always François. If I may ask, out of all the players you have done, which player(s) have you found the most challenging to transcribe? I cannot begin to imagine how much time goes into each transcription and how good of an ear you must have to be able to capture the nuances of each player. Thank you very much for all your hard work, we appreciate you very much.

    •  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Ted Greene is definitely the most time consuming to transcribe and by far. It is also the more challenging but each time I tackle a new guitarist for the first time it's a big challenge or when the audio is crap. Thanks a lot! much appreciated :-)

    • @BD-ve5ru
      @BD-ve5ru 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      François Leduc Haha, I sort of figured Ted would be the most challenging. I have been listening to Ted for many years now, and I have always thought of his music as something to only be admired, because not in a million years would I have thought that I would actually be learning one of his songs as it is so hard to figure out what he is doing. I know I have already said it in my original comment, but you are a blessing. Thank you again François.

    i maybe missing something here. But the tab isnt in line with the song right? to me the first note is not 12. its more on 10. Anyone can help? Maybe i tuned my guitar wrong for this?

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      His guitar is tuned down 1 step. Sorry I think the tuning was set to 'hide' or something like that... my mistake. Cheers!

  • @guitargod6997
    @guitargod6997 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A question - when I play along with the transcription, I find it is in the key of D rather than E. Did Ted detune a whole step?

    • @Hunter-xv7kz
      @Hunter-xv7kz 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah he would often downtune, sometimes 1 1/2 steps. Tuning down to D was common for him

  • @YuxinZhou13
    @YuxinZhou13 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    D standard!

  • @guitargod6997
    @guitargod6997 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    One should point out that Ted Greene's guitar was detuned a whole step, and the piece as recorded is in the key of D. The music actually lays out quite nicely in that key. The arrangement is a fine version in E, but less difficult to execute in D.

    •  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I forgot to add the "tune one step down" indication. Although, I always write the notation in normal tuning so the standard notation is OK... cheers!

    • @StephenBrennanGuitar
      @StephenBrennanGuitar 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The key of D but using the shapes of E? Is that why Francois wrote the notation in E? (I know ted throws in a few more keys before he finished!!!

    • @guitargod6997
      @guitargod6997 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I recall, Ted simply liked to detune his guitar by a whole step. But yes, while the bulk of the arrangement is in D, he cycles through D flat and C at the end of the song.

    •  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just wrote in E to facilitate the standard notation reading, that's how it's done in every books. It's the same as instrument that are transposed like trumpet or saxophone.

    • @StephenBrennanGuitar

      how did you figure that all out - did look at the video? i think there's a video out of Ted Playing it? amazing transcription btw

    How is the lo-fi sound in this recording achieved, or what is to blame for it? I would like to impart that sound to my own recordings sometimes but I don't know how to.
