      Julia it’s ridiculous! Plus the UK plan I was on let me use that data anywhere without extra fees! Just made sense so keep it although I could only make phone calls through data.

    Great timing I was just asking my self I wonder how much all up it would cost laundry water and car repairs rego and shower would all add to that total so my guess and it's just a guess but 900 for most would probably be average 😮

    • @MattWatsonComedy

      Yeah I’m a lunatic with pinching pennies. $900 sounds more reasonable.

    If you manage to escape being a rent slave, life gets surprisingly easier all of a sudden. I will likely never live in a house again, I like my freedom to much though I also live in a truck and a much bigger space which makes it practical long term compared to a van.
    If your parking in the same spot a lot people always find out your living in the van, do you get hassled ever?

    • @MattWatsonComedy
      @MattWatsonComedy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've definitely been hassled by home owners before, but that's fine. I'd rather they say something themselves vs getting police involved. I never want to upset anyone, so if me being there bothers someone enough to come out and actually say something, I'll move. At the end of the day it's just a parking spot, and my home has wheels.
      Luckily where I currently am, there's a string of free parking, so I've been moving up and down the line throughout the week so that I'm not what the same tenant sees every time they look out their front window.
      Plus with how busy my schedule is, when I'm in the van, I'm asleep with the curtains closed.
      BTW "Rent slave" I really like that!
      Thanks for taking the time to comment and best of luck with your adventures in the truck!

      I did it for a couple weeks when I first moved to the UK, and got the knock from a neighbor just as I was about to head back to Edinburgh. Guess we both realized it was time. Truthfully I’m more of a medium city guy, but I’ll never say never.

      @@MattWatsonComedy I'm not a London fan if I'm honest. I live in the wonderful county of (West) Yorkshire. My city (Leeds) is expanding at an alarming rate and is like a smaller (older) version of London. I have plans in place to leave the UK for Spain but there's a few minor details to get sorted out first.

    Nice $500 is really good. I was averaging $800 a month before these gas prices. But in the U.S van dwelling in the cities is a nightmare so most of us stay on public lands which are always 20+ miles away from the city. Do the math.
    Van lifing in the city in USA is very stressful. People here are nosey. I probably spend at least 300 a month on gas now which sucks! Basically upped my rent by double!

    • @MattWatsonComedy
      @MattWatsonComedy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for sharing this Leo and I’m sorry to hear things have gotten worse over there due to gas prices. I don’t have as much experience camping in American cities, but I assure you that noise won’t keep me away.
      Best of you luck!
