    fantastic video and production! I don't even own one of these, just love tear downs and root causing problems, which is what you did!

    Why doesn't anyone show taking the timing chain out? Of a 1000 XP.

    Good Video, the plug had no gap because the rod bearing failed and caused the piston to travel up too high

    Engine blocks are actually very intuitive.....Carburetors are a different animal...but if you study them very close...you can find the problem...

    Can you replace the jug and pistons while motor is still in the machine. I see the top end kits with pistons. I am getting blow bye and have low compression in one cylinder.

    Is it possible to remove the timing chain without splitting cases? Also what is the purpose of the U shaped retainer other than keeping the chain in place if dropped from the top?

    • @michi_danksta
      @michi_danksta 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not possible. The lower block traps the chain. It is only accessible by splitting the lower case from upper case.

    Anyone know how to get the timing chain off the crank gear on the bottom behind the flywheel? Do you need a puller, or do you have to split the case?

    instead of replacing the head wouldn't it be easier to put a thicker head gasket? Then it would put down the compression and give more room for the piston don't hit the spark plug? This coming from auto tech, those engines might not be possible to do.

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's definitely not recommended. You'll just end up replacing it later.

    7:06 You called out main bearings even after seeing the smashed ground electrode on the spark plug...caused by the extra stroke by wasted rod bearings.
    Come on man this is first day stuff....lol
    Just joking btw, great video.

  • @grantdubridge7995

    Isn't that a manufacturer defect?

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was most likely a rebuild with the wrong size bearings.
