Fantastic! What a beautiful piece of engineering, love how so many of these engines not only still exist but work for a living rather than residing in museums. Thank you!
Hey, great shots! I saw you filming and was on the same southern train, was a bit nervy in getting ahead of Clan Line before it left Hove after we were held at Preston Park
Thank you! Yes indeed, not sure why we were held at Preston Park for the Victoria bound train as that was running early and we had arrived on-time, thankfully we went ahead as scheduled at Hove. I had 16 minutes at West Worthing as just after Clan Line went through the next train back came in so I got on that! Thanks for the comment, all the best Ashley
I'll bet the drivers of those two electric trains had smirks on their faces as they pulled their trains into the platform, blocking the view of those on the same platform, wishing to see the locomotive go past!
Hello Ashley, enjoyed your video, especially as Clan Line is my 2nd favourite locomotive (the 'Duchess' being No.1.). I have a couple of questions for you; 1) what editing software do you use. I use a free one called Openshot, but find it a real pain when doing transitions. 2) do you know why steam comes out of the tender on Clan Line. Many thanks.
Hi! Thank you for the kind comment, to answer your questions as Tony mentions below it is the air brake, there is a lot more information on Clan Line's website here... www.clan-line.org.uk/tech/air-brakes/ I edit my videos using some quite old software, I have Adobe Premier Elements 10, it is getting on for 15 years old now but my home computer and laptop are both pretty old too so it does the job! I film using twin Panasonic 4K camcorders, a HC-VX870 I bought in 2016 and a HC-VXF990 I bought in 2022, which although was new is esentially an upgraded version of my old camcorder so they both work fine with the older software. I can't fault Adobe Premier Elements, its very simple to use with a range of transtions. All I do to my videos is trim the clips to the required length, place in sequence order with a transition between and save to PC, I then upload the saved file to TH-cam. All the best Ashley

Thank you! Yes indeed, nothing beats seeing them working hard. Thanks for the comment, all the best Ashley

Yes that was a shame, rather spoilt the sound on my video as well!
