    Such a cool story. What an amazing man Jerry must have been. For him to have invited you out to the factory at 15 means he knew you were something special yourself. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to watching the next episodes.

    What an awesome story, I remember seeing a white Vector W8 in Laguna Beach on vacation in the early ‘90s. It was like seeing a spaceship.

    Kurt, thanks for sharing. I remember seeing Jerry and his W2 at car shows in the 80’s, also saw him cruising it one night in La Jolla Ca. what a awesome super car. I believe you need to get ahold of Jay Leno and share with him, put good gas in it and turn up the boost. The W8 would sell today, only would need electronic updates not any exterior changes- as this was and still is the best looking super car ever!!

    I've wanted a Vector ever since I 1st saw them in the 80's car magazines when i I was around 9. Unfortunately I was too young at the time to do anything about it! Cars and technology like this led me to were I am today, an engineer in the auto industry. Just wish my time was sooner to have been involved in such a project seeking perfection, I would have loved working with Jerry, and to have been in a position to own a W8. Best car ever as far as I am concerned, cause its the complete package. No one cares much about building quality vehicles, with attention to detail, taking manufacturing into account and pushing the technology, and taking no short cuts, thats as much a must have for me as is the looks and performance, which are hands down the greatest for the W8 in the supercar world, even today. So glad to learn more than I already knew about this masterpiece of a car, this is a critical series of videos to preserve the history of the greatest american supercar. Unbelievable job Kurt, and what a treasure you and your W8 are!

      Hi Melissa,
      It's nice to hear from you. Your appreciation for the W8 is great to see. You mentioned being an automotive engineer. Which state do you live in?

      Sorry for the confusion Kurt, that was my wifes name that incorrectly displayed, Im Mike who added the comment, after just recently discovering your fantastic videos. I am not an auto engineer, rather an engineer in the auto industry, a supplier. Im in Ohio.

      Interesting tid bit, related to your hostile take over and M12 episode, there were two M12s for sale right down the road from me several years ago, at an exotic car dealer in North Canton, one yellow, one in American flag livery, interesting to see, but knowing they weren't the real deal, a hard pass.

    I just stumbled across your channel....THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS !!! I am looking forward to watching all the episodes. The W8 is an amazing car, and I'm so curious to get the inside story ! My first car was a Datsun 280z, and the F1 is also my favorite car. The Vector is a very close 2nd....and for sure wins in styling !!! Nice poster of the F1 on the wall, I've got the same one on my garage wall. As an engineer, hearing all the details is fantastic. The F1 has a great book about its development...is there anything like that for the W8?? Ha ha I'd love to come sit in the W8 (no, I do not wanna drive it ! NO WAY ! I'd have a heart attack). but sitting in one and looking it over would be so awesome. The connection is fighter jets is a huge draw for the W8....that is what I did for a career (aerospace engineer mostly doing advanced design prototypes). Your story is fantastic, again thanks for sharing ! Working at Vector would have been a dream come true.

      For some reason I cant respond to the other question you posted regarding parts. I cant see the whole question. So if you reply here I should be able to read and answer the question.

      Hi Craig, 017 was abducted by Audi, they were in possession of that car illegally. They sold the car without having the MSO. It currently resides in tbe Auto Sensheim Museum in Germany. Jerry was in the process of trying to get the car back when he passed away. I dont know if his kids will pursue getting it back.
      As for parts, most are still available, but a few are not. Windshields being a big issue. Tires being the second big issue. And a few other items.

      @VectorW8015  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Scott,
      Yes, I'm well aware of the auction at 330N Marine. David and I talk frequently. Jerry was a friend, mentor and father figure to me. He and I spoke at least once a month over the past 29 years. The same goes for David and I. Jerry had a proud father moment when i bought my car. It was a fun conversation when it happened. I miss my conversations with him.
