Hey Coach, can you make a video on how to lose weight for football season (I'm trying to lose weight to play wide receiver). Love your videos man, they help me so much. #1 coach on the internet.
Find your BMR, the amount of calories you burn in a day simply to stay alive (search TDE calculator), and subtract 500 calories, that is your daily caloric goal. If you’re under or over by a little that’s fine. 500 cal a day equals 1 pound a week, if you start today, you could be down 30 pounds minimum by the time the season starts without even really trying that hard, it just takes consistency. DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF. It’s normal to lose weight a little bit faster the first week or two as your body drops water weight, but if you’re losing weight any faster than 1 - 2 pounds per week (assuming you’re not morbidly obese) then you need to be eating more.
My son is 6ft4.5 and 210lbs at 14. Low body fat. He moves pretty good. Just made the transition from baseball to football his freshmen year of highschool. He has a super high ceiling. I love these videos for him. 🫡🫡🫡
@@jjoshu_a I know man. Trying to keep him working. He was hitting crazy deep in baseball. I don’t know what made him switch sports. He’s going to a top ranked football school. I hope it works out for him.
Hey coach, im in 7th grade 13 years old 115 lbs 5’2 i workout everyday, but i just cant gain that weight, im looking to play Running back in highschool because ima be pretty short. Do you have any suggestions? To gain weight? Thank you coach.
I have to disagree respectfully with how to put on quality weight. In highschool metabolism is great. That said do not eat at McDonald's, KFC, Popeyes, any fast food more than twice in a week, most likely once a week max. Eat some fruits, salads, meats, legumes, pasta, water, milk, cereal, porridges and once in awhile some desserts. Eat to be satisfied and snack on nuts and granola bars, some cheese or even peanut butter and jams on toast or bread. The weight room is very important. You need to hit that like minimum 4 times a week max 5 times. Workouts need to be varied on time of year. A month after the season have some testing sessions once to twice a week for 2-3 max reps on bench, squats, cleans, leg press, quad extension, deadlifts. As well most workouts should be lifting 8 reps and some for power 5. As well testing like combines, 185 max reps or 225 max reps or if starting out 135 max bench reps, squats to of 315, 225 or 185 squat reps. During the season weights is to maintain and keep strength. No max stuff. The gym is were you put on quality weight as well if you are a wr/db/te/qb/rb/lb learn to sprint and do some sprint workouts of tempo 150's, 100's, 75's, 50's and some explosive sprints of 30- 60 metres. Do that and you will hit the average weights or if all to most athletes did watch the average weight of athletes go up by 5 lbs in all positions. If you are a lineman never run more than 75-80 metres tempo and more power workouts and sprints between 20-40 metres.
Coach im currently 171 i wanna go up to 175 but should i just stay there and maintain or go up to 180 because im scared ima lose speed if i go up to 180 but if i stay at 175 i feel like ill be good for my junior season

@@KieranGreenway you have good height. Just gain weight. The good thing about being a little smaller is the quickness that you probably have.

I would say try to be as heavy as possible but focus on putting on muscle mass. Not gaining fat. You can still keep your athleticism this way
Hey coach next year in going to a run first high school as a wide receiver. I’m wondering if I should try to switch to running back?
I would try to play both. Stick to your main spot at receiver but if there is an option to get RB reps, I would do it
Thanks Coach
