    Nice job, especially your camera angles shows all the bolts that need to come out. I'll start my replacement and be better prepared.

    hi, i did change my upper tie rods, and the bottoms also, drove it and felt really good ,just like it was before
    but when i changed my rack and pinion bushing ,it feel like i can not control it ,feels like its waving to much.
    i did put greese on the bushing , buy the way i took it to get alignment
    it waves from one side to the other, not much but i can feel the difference from before

    How do you like that autozone steering rack? My Toyota dealership wants over $700 for just the rack. Doesn't include he tierod ends.

      NAPA has good rack & pinions. I changed out my step fathers in his 2001. We also just got him a new frame and brake lines.

      I will never buy any major parts from autozone. Only bottled fluids that are name brand and not autozone brands. Plenty of experiences and friends also have had zero luck with Duralast parts.

    Is gear box and rack pinion or are they two different procedures

    • @theotherguy3083
      @theotherguy3083  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The gear box is a different design than the RP. The RP has multiple bushings. The Stearing box is bolted right onto the frame.

    I am getting mine done by Les Schwab (a good friend of mine) for $1,168 and some change. I have zero skill in this department, but I like to look these matters up. My 2004 Tacoma doublecab has 203,000 miles on it and this is the first time needing to get this done. Wish Les and I good luck! Peace! And thanks for the video lesson.
