It’s astounding to think that if I were to create a list of my favorite soulslikes, my favorite looter shooters, and my favorite procedurally generated games, Remnant 2 would appear on all of those lists. This is a triumphant sequel that doesn’t just reimagine the soulslike genre as a co-op looter-shooter, but absolutely nails that concept in nearly every way - including many that the original did not. With completely engrossing combat, challenging and memorable boss fights, ultra-dense buildcrafting options, incredibly cool procedurally generated levels, and a clever multiversal concept that allows for a ton of different adventures in one package, it’s very likely going to become one of my most-played games this year. No matter which part of the multiverse you find yourself in, you should do yourself a favor and play this gem.

As a huge fan of Remnant from the Ashes, I'm really pleased that this game is going to be a huge hit and reach the wider audience it deserves.
It will be dead online in a month, better to spend money elsewhere.

A 9/10 for a sequel like this is really high praise
That there shows how much work the developers were willing to put into their game. If it has a smooth launch which is unlikely nowadays it will be an amazing game
Especially from IGN since they hand out 7/10s like hotcakes
Even the $70 bundle is actually worth the price compared to AAA title's

A 9/10 from IGN is like a 7/10 from anyone else. They gave Hogwarts Legacy a 9/10 lol, they actually think it’s on the same level as FF16.
The first game was an underrated gem. I'm so glad the team had the opportunity to make a sequel, this is not a game that should be slept on. People will probably get triggered by me saying this but it's definitely one of if not the best souls like game out there
It wasn't under rated, its was a 7/10 game, they have improved on it in every single way, 9/10 now, there is always room for improvement ✌

I've played it for 15 hours now, and It's so much fun. It's true what they say, it feels like you're playing many different games, because of the variety of worlds, weapons, mods and builds you can create. It's and easy 9/10. A fantastic game that deserves a huge player base.

I'll never understand IGN - the Verdict section says the game is one of the best all-rounder souls-likes out there, has incredible depth, and a massive step up over its predecessor. But isn't worth 10/10? Why? The studio didn't fork out the 10/10 check to IGN?

So funny to believe that they crafted Remnant 2 from a game that was a loose sequel to a weird VR action RPG that had essentially none of the traits of these two titles. Gunfire Games really took the ball and ran with it and scored. From the sounds of it, they did that twice.

The first game was one of my favorite co-op games of all time; happy to see that this one is doing well

Dude the first one is honestly more brutal than the first. The second has an Elden like approach so it’s more approachable to the causal gamer while still building and adding onto the systems already in place. I’m replaying the first one now and it deserves a solid 7.9-8.2. 2 getting a 9 is poetic Justice at its fullest. More weapons, powers, armors, mods, etc make the second one a BEAST
9?! oh snap for a sub $60 game with co-op and endless replayability, that's solid!
With no P2W and microtransactions rammed into it for no reason other than bucks (removed DLC as it obviously has them but its an old school game you buy it you get the full game with no paywalls)

@@TylerFast441 the DLCs of this franchise are essential, since it is a procedural level game and with multiple modes, this adds even more content and variability. And yet the basic game could be considered "sufficient" given its lifespan. These devs are geniuses!!

I’ve put in 150 hours+ into Remnant 2, (something I’m not particularly proud of), this is by far the game of the year for me.

Let’s also remember the game is price pointed at 50$ for the base game. So a quality game that the devs are asking less for.
The ultimate addition for 70 gives 3 dlcs and 3 in game armor sets (which are not just cosmetic). That is well worth the price.

He’s really talking up the game. He’s only shown half of the game so far, so it’s definitely 80hr game after the campaign, so it’s relatively worth the money or even a preorder depending on whether or not you will be playing co-op on day one or are just a big fan.
Don't forget the future 2-3 dlc

saw this popped up on my steam feed, and had NO clue it was even being made, had a few hundred hours with the 1st game, so its such a delight to see the 2nd one!, cant wait to get started!
Would have liked to see gameplay of the weapon variety in this review. All that we saw was the lever action in use.

bought the ultimate :D this game seems to deserve it!
$70 for the ultimate edition which will get u all the dlc’s on release, 3 day early access, plus all the little starting goodies. Meanwhile big game companies releasing micro transaction filled garbage for $70 at base game price.

It's 720p on ps5 performance mode and on even high end pc u need upscaler to run this game on 40-50 fps 😂

Bosses should be bullet spongy, theyre bosses after all, want to kill one with like three headshots from a sniper ? That would make it a lame boss, normal enemies are that ones that should never be bullet sponges, thats the reason totk combat become even more garbage than what it already was from botw
Technically bosses were never bullet sponges, if they were then you just weren't built correctly
Procedurally generated dark souls with guns just sounds like the chalice dungeons and I'm in

This is actually the third game. Chronos before the ashes, Remnant from the ashes, and now Remnant 2 making this a trilogy.
This might just be the first game to challenge the Souls games for the throne. They went all out on this one.

He didn't mention how heavy the game is on the performance side, a RTX 4090 is running at an 70 average with dlss quality on 4K, and there is no raytracing.
Is it on ultra? That doesnt really seem too crazy for a brand new game in 4k on ultra

Huge improvement over Remnant 1 which was a decent game, but full of flaws and extremely buggy with bad repetitive randomly generated maps.

Procedurally generated levels in games are going to be increasingly great as AI get more advanced. In the near future, depending on the genre, more and more game can become "rogue-like".
Maybe Remnant 2 and Elden Ring should have a baby. Can't imagine how awesome that would be lol.

THIS ONE should be a TEN, with all its Desigin particularities (inclue sound) and its absolute gameplay and Feedbacks functioning, including level procedurals that work and a rich AI and animations of each enemy! Plus the originality of the Bosses, each linked to its appropriate arene. So much to say even more...

For some reason me and my buddies decided to do a hard-core run first we got to that cube and it killed us in five seconds lol
You guys seriously need to calm down because one review from one gaming source isn't going to give the full cumulative review for this game. It got a 78 on metacritic for PS5 and 80 for PC so there you go! Definitely going to download on steam for PC!
