    As an Australian 21-year-old who has only ever had two standard drinks (due to my accord, not because of crazily strict parents or religious ideologies), it is nice to hear other people talk about the benefits of not consuming alcohol regularly. Not all young people are party-goers and I think this needs to be spoken about more!

    Hi Rachel😊 I am glad to hear that you are feeling good! As an athlete, I never drink alcohol, I dislike the taste and the effect it has on people. So it is a big no for me. I always had friends who are in the same mindset as we quickly figured out that drinking is not beneficial and it ruins other part of your life. You can have fun in a lot of other ways 🎉😊

    I identify a lot with how you describe the shift you felt last year! Also definitely agree on reducing alcohol and, specifically, reducing socially-induced drinking. I am also over it, but it can be hard when it is a habit in old friendships. I think covid has led to a lot of us pausing and re-evaluating our social lives and who we want to socialize with and in what ways -- I am trying to approach it much more intentionally now!

    Yes to everything in this video!!! I have been watching your videos for a few years and it has served as an inspiration in my own life to get my own life on track. I always love your tips and the lessons you share. Thank you!!
    One thing I’ve been doing to is a highlights list - similar to a gratitude list but instead of trying to fish for things I’m grateful for, I actually look back on my month/year and look at actual things that I accomplished or that happened and how that changed me and how I want to improve from that or build on that. Very very helpful!!

    Finally! So many of these I watch act like they never have a drop of alcohol and never get hangovers and it’s such a productivity killer! You can loose a day so thanks for this!

    Are you me? This whole video resonated especially the food delivery, overeating & social aspect of trying to not drink…it’s so crazy when you really look at your habits and realize how unhealthy they can be but it took a while to get there and also takes a while to change them! The pandemic definitely did not help me with those habits…I also feel like i’m going to lose friends when i totally stop drinking but i think the right people will get it and also have the same values as me…i’m 25 so that in between stage where some are still fully enjoying their alix earle eras but others are much more into the next chapter like myself but it feels like there aren’t too many people romanticizing this aspect of it such as staying in and cooking to save money or finding activities outside drinking! great video 😊

    I like this, and I, for one, would love to see a video about your last habit mentioned. Like, what categories, and what steps or actions to take for each one. It seems like it would be a HUGE daily “to do” list, but I do what you said you did in that I get started on something, and other areas get pushed aside or forgotten. I want to STOP doing that!

    Such great habits indeed.. so glad you have your life together,, i can see how confident and happy you sound now.
    Could you share with us some of the meals you cook? I know you said they are pretty basic, but basic is all i need right now 😅

    Love this video. It’s amazing how many small habits snowball and have dramatic effects. I talk to my teens about it all the time and desperately want them to install good habits for their lives. We eat at the table together 9/10 times which is just one simple habit. But along with that it regulates the time we eat, we make eye contact, chat, listen, phone free time, eat the same food so eat a more varied diet (not just our favourite), team effort setting table.clearing up) etc I love a planner and ideally plan my week on a Sunday & meal plan M-Th meals. I also have weekly (cleaning) & monthly jobs (birthdays, recycling etc) I like to do. I recently heard ‘you are your habits’ which makes sense (you can’t call yourself a runner if you don’t run). I’ve enjoyed Feel Better in 5 by Dr Chatterjee which includes lots of 5 min habits. I love to plan huge life changes/habits but the reality is I’m more likely to do and maintain something small and hopefully it snowballs into more. Love hearing podcast with James Clear and watching routine video. Would love to hear more about your list even if it’s super basic

    I am seriously loving your videos!
    I’m having a bit of a life blah in every aspect of it and in a bit of a hole and these type of content that you make are so helpful and so comforting that I’m not the only one like your last video so thank you
    I will be trying out some of these habits and see how I go, specially the life to do list! ❤

    You are so beautiful and inspiring. You are one of my fave vloggers. So glad that you are doing what works best for you and fulfills you. Cooking more at home definitely saves money and is usually healthier, depending on what you eat! I hate to cook but started cooking more this year and last year. It has improved our finances and makes my hubby happier. 😊 Your coffees always look so good! Love your blouse and nails!

    It’s crazy to hear you ordered so much food before, you have inspired me to really cook for myself. The last video you did or a couple back you made a burger and it just looked so good… so I’ve had a burger with all the fixings like 4 times since lol. Your breakfast that you would make in Canada looked so yummy so then I had to make whatever you made lol. You inspired me to really take the time and put in work to treat myself with my own service and attention to details.

    • @rachelleea

      Yeah, I definitely cut down towards the end of last year, but a lot of the expense came from going out to restaurants. I want to save restaurants for a more special things I think. Makes it more fun that way, rather than going multiple times a week.
      Im so glad you feel that way, its nice to listen to what you need and do that for yourself 😊

    Being less social has saved me a lot of money and I’m saving so much more money than I ever did. I’m an introvert so I enjoy my time alone at home so any excuse to stay home watching Netflix is great 👍🏽. So I agree with that. I don’t drink alcohol so whenever I go out with people I have my own bill separate from everyone and I always pay less coz my drinks are always cheap 😊.

    Hey Rachel, super random question maybe to answer in a video but how do you suggest managing money when it’s in two countries and two currencies? Any chance you could create a spreadsheet for that? I’d buy it ❤

    • @rachelleea
      @rachelleea  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Meg
      Thats something I am still trying to figure out. I run in both AUD and CAD and right now just to track I am switching my CAD to AUD but its not entirely accurate. I definitely need to do a dual currency planner, still doing some research on whats the best way to go about it 😊

    I love the habit of being less social .. COVID hit me hard and even though we’re back to “normal” I still don’t want to see my friends as much as I use to. Still trying to adjust .. but staring to realise that my new normal is more alone time 🤍 loving your recent videos xx

    Drink in moderation can be a difference. If your out with true friends, they accept it when you dont drink on a night or switch to water after 2 drinks.
    Social shouldnt be linked to alcohol.

      Whats wrong with the comments?

    • @rachelleea
      @rachelleea  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I saw your other comment to someone else. Is everything ok? I still drink alcohol, theres nothing wrong with alcohol. I mentioned it in the video. I'd recommend watching to see exactly what was said. Its about balance. Being social does not mean you need to drink. I don't like partying, its not for me but for others its a great choice. I started to find last year certain people will on be friends with you if you go out partying. I decided I didn't need those friendships. I also don't need to be as social, I don't need to see other people multiple days per week, I like my alone time. These comments about alcohol have upset you and I think its important to think about why. Like I said watch the video and I think you'll find its not what you think. 💛💛💛💛
