Bangalore Bicycle Championships - 151 Kms BBCh Classic Road Race 2023

BBCh Classic Road Race this time around moved to the all new Chennai Expressway that's built from Doddaballapur via Devanahalli towards Hosakote. We raced on a small loop of 30 Kms one lap starting from KIADB Aerospace Park Phase 2 towards devanahalli 15 kms out and back to KIADB for 5 laps making it a 151 Kms race.
Race went on difficult as the month of Aashada witnessed crazy winds on the course. Peloton decided to take it easy while one rider named Tejas went on a solo break and others couldn't resist that so Somesh from Cyclopedia Mysore and Dhanesh from Team Wheelsports decided to break from the peloton after lap 1 and the peloton didn't bother to catch them at all. as the laps passed on the peloton was still warming up until all the action happened in the 4th lap, a break happened and a crash happened simultaneously with Zeeshan, Krishna Khandelwal and Vincent Godai on the tarmac. Peloton was split into two groups now, chase group involving all the other riders and the lead group including all the favorites' 30 secs was the GAP from the chase to the lead and it remained the same until finish line and the lead group never made a break again, they decided to do a bunch sprint but the chase group caught them right before the finish. A motorcycle group of traffic was encountered at the finish line we somehow cleared them before the sprint took off.
Chinmay went on to Win his first Road Race in Bangalore and we missed Rick Nobel this time.
Nadeppa from Team Wheelsports finished 2nd in the Bunch Sprint
Joel finished 3rd and the bunch of 17 riders followed on together.
This race tested the true potential of Endurance, Hydration, Nutrition and how to save tires from getting flats. only a few made it to the finish line in the bunch while rest of them got cramps, flats or ran out of fuel or a crash.
