The symbol of a serpent is used almost globally as a symbol of healing and medicine. It goes back all the way to ancient Greece.

Okay to recap, the devil isn't all powerful, he can't do anything without God's permission. The devil isn't even in hell right now (if he exists) and his name is not Lucifer.
