20 was actually where it capped out when I tested this like a month ago. Kills by killstreaks also give you Assassin bonus. If you aim down sight at an enemy while using tracker you will reveal that enemy as a dot on your entire team's minimap, teammates with Assassin will see the crosshair here instead. The one exception is field mics, if an enemy shows up on your map because of a field mic, it will only be a regular dot and not a crosshair. If they shoot while in a field mic then you will see the crosshair for a bit though
Ace is my favorite info source for everythiing multiplayer, I don't want to discredit him since he's done much more testing than me for pretty much everything else lol. I did make a video on this if you want to check it out, unfortunately it was my first video so it's pretty low quality but the information was solid. I'm currently doing in depth guides for zombies but will go back to multi in the future too if you want to sub
@@RickjeePSV it’s basically the same thing as crashes ammo box from black ops 4 if you played that. You get I believe 50 extra score per kill and I just recently discovered the ammo box/ninja combo and I get chopper gunners with ease now so they do help a lot

Great video as always Ace and I fully agree this is definitely worth using. It does sadden me HUGELY that all of the 'multipliers' available only pertain to kills and kill streaks. Where is the reward for conscientious objective players? I am a huge fan of objective game modes but sadly there is absolutely no incentive for players to play objectively if they are on a kill streak? if you are on a streak where your next kill could net you +500pts, are you seriously going to risk this trying to cap a flag for a fraction of this reward. I was really hoping that this would be addressed in Cold War, but once again objective game modes are sadly being played as TDM again and again. I regularly come across players who have absolutely no intention of capturing objectives and winning the game. This really does need to be addressed.
Wow! Perfect length of commentary for that full game of FFA. Great vid as always. I do use assassin all the time for that extra score bonus. I get my streaks noticeably faster with it equipped.
I'm glad you made this video I almost always run assassin it's nice because you can find the enemy's general direction and it's always nice to get the extra score of course.
You should make a video about all attachments that in some way state they interact with recoil control. i know they provide percentages and stats for them but something tells me there’s more to them than meets the eye, especially for warzone and i would not be surprised if you discover some hidden stats like how the merc foregrip in mw had the movement speed bonus regardless of it was intended or not and personally i just wold like to see how the muzzles and foregrip stack up side by side to see how exactly they differ and impact control beyond what they state in game for us to see
Assassin has been great for score hustling. Those bonus points for ending people that have normally gonna be on a streak of 2-5. You will get certain streaks so fast that that you earn another by the end. 2 UAVs in one match can help get a few extra kills or get certain challenges done. It's great but not necessary to builds
I play alot of hardpoint and I essentially use Assassin and Gearhead on every class. Assassin helps you get those game changing Napalm Strikes, Cruise Missiles, and Harps quicker and Gearhead gives you essentially a trophy system for every Hardpoint.
I actually use law braker wild card and equip 3 perks from perk 3 ghost, ninja and the perk that make you disappear of field mic sometimes i put gun ho instead of it I think that's the best way to go with i personally love that setup
Before this i used to think that assassin only worked on people who were using a score streak, like if they had a war machine equipped, or were using a chopper gunner. That's why i thought this was a bad perk, but now this completely changes things, this perk basically gives you triple points for someone on a double kill streak which imo is kinda op since 30-40% of the people you kill will be there.
It's so underrated for players, like me, who otherwise get close to their top streak but often miss it by a little bit. That extra push is so valuable.
Assassin + gearhead + assault pack + engineering = score for days! (assault pack also makes it so I don't need scavenger, and with engineering I get lots of score spotting and destroying equipment, gearhead to get assault pack more often, and stack up to 2 if needed). I'm the only person I know running this class, but I'm out here getting gunships almost every game.
I understood how it worked more or less but it did not click with me that using assassin would get me more points toward my kill streaks. That is awesome and yes I would say it is underrated.
And an other friend played with me in the free week and was questioning about how I get so high score and I wasn't noticing that was assassin doing it's job.
I'm usually grinding camos so I usually use quartermaster and gearhead to help with the detected kills needed for weapons. However if there's challenges related to killstreaks I need to complete then assassin definitely sounds like the way to go for sure.
One thing that I've noticed with this perk is that when they show up as a crosshair, the arrow that shows if they are above or below you will not show up.
didn't realize it worked this way... I thought it would hard-ping someone when they pulled out a controllable killstreak and that while they were controlling it, you would get bonus points for killing them. It hadn't occurred to me that "killing a player on a killstreak" meant anything other than "killing a player while they're controlling a killstreak"
I love this perk and always run it I'm glad to know that even if they don't show up on the mini map with the crosshair you still get that bonus points never knew or realized that Thank you for that info.
To answer your question Ace, yes I did know how that perk worked, but as I got better at the game I found that I need it less and less. But the next video should be Tracker. How long do the foot prints stay on the ground and is it worth considering.
Assassin is hands down the best tier 2 perk. Only exception is if you are running a gun like the MAC10 that needs scavenger. But then again since perk greed is pretty much a crutch in this game it doesn't matter because you can run them both.
I've been using gear head with scavenger. I had no idea you get the bonus score even if the enemy doesn't have the cross hair.. thats huge. Definitely gonna start using assassin more on perk greed classes!
For perk 2, I usually choose Gearhead for the cooldown/stacking 2 field upgrades and tracker cause it was the only other thing I found useful. By this explanation, Assassin does seem a little better and I might end up putting it on a class.
i've been running perk greed, flak + tac mask, assassin + quartermaster, and cold blooded + ghost on all classes since day one. except sniper class where i like to have an smg secondary (so law breaker and only flak/assassin/cold blooded) and a knife-run/smg class with ninja instead of cold blooded. i like my classes as similar as possible since i'm a creature of habit and like to just jump in and play. that's why i also have stim shot and gas mine on all my classes. i don't see how assassin could be underrated, it's clearly the most valuable tier 2 perk
I personally use lawbreaker and do Ghost, Ninja, Gung-Ho every class lol I use always use a suppressor unless it's nuketown and I use the max sprint speed grip. I flat out rush every game so it suits me... It's also probably why I'm only a 1.47 because I'm constantly running into gun barrels on head glitches lol
Tracker still seems bugged so I don't use it. One moment you will see bright glowing footsteps from where they were a couple seconds ago and the next you won't see anything for footsteps for where they are running around while you are looking at them. Like the only real bonus is the fact it marks the map so someone will Pac man him up if he kills you.
Engineer + spycraft has you begging the other team to put down more field upgrades. Having 2 scramblers, 2 field mics, and a trophy all out at once when you didn't deploy any of them is wonderful.
HI Ace, I subscribed to your channel in 2020. Really enjoying your Black Ops Cold War Content. I really appreciated what you brought to me in this video and I've added assasin to a class and have had success getting more points toward getting all of my scorestreaks!! Thank for this tip. Also I wanted to give some player feedback. I've been playing cod multi-player for 12 seasons. I'm a casual player and usually buy every other year. Mostly treyarch games. I play moshpit dom, td, kc, and hp. Last few years prior to CW I find my ave finish in match to be 4th. KD hovering around 1;1 but I play objectives to win. In Black Ops Cold War, my ave finish now is 2nd! Several first. Not really sure why I'm top of the matches now. SBMM, better players have moved on to Warzone or have burned out, or maybe I did improve a lot playing BO4. I am enjoying this game. I believe it is easier. Ammo caches on some maps, hardpoint sign telling you next HP location, scorestreaks not resetting and rewarding objective play, care packages delivering high streaks more often(2 chopper guners, 1 gunship, harp and many sentry guns in just last week). In my case, after years of finishing 4th out of 6 and losing half the matches to now finishing in top 3 and winning 70% of matches, and a K/D of 1.30 its funner. If sbmm is putting me in lobbies where I have a chance to finish high I have to say its good. Vs. just 1 in 4 games feeling like a winner. My new found prowess lol has me trying to get better and motiviated to watch your videos to improve. I think you are doing a great job at covering the game, especially on multi, and hope you continue to grind out these great videos. I know for some players sbmm may make them grind every match but thats what I felt like when there was little or no sbmm which I endured for MW2, MW3, BO2, AW, BO3 and BO4 as a lobby semi-scrub. Being valdevictorian of summer school may get boring eventually but right now I am enjoying it.
The Perk text clearly says what it does. However, I personally don't use/look at minimap and I don't find the xp bonus to be better than an alternative perk.
I think if they were more upfront with the bonus being 100 at 2 and then 50 per additional, more people would be running it. I never use it nor would I have thought it started at 2. I would have thought a minimum of 3 but more likely 5 kill streak since that’s when you start to get streak medals. It’s on Treyarch for making bad descriptions that don’t properly convey the attributes of the perk in a meaningful way.
I knew about the full effect because I read the description and I use it on all my classes cause other than scavenger nothing else pops out to me as useful
ACE you never mentioned that in order to get the assassin's extra score, you have to be the one to deliver that final shot and not just be a support kill
I knew about it but I never take it. Assassin doesn't give any sort of extra information or gameplay boosts, it's all score stuff. I would rather use my perk slot on something that either helps me stay alive longer or get kills I would have otherwise not gotten, which is something that all the other t2 perks do. If you don't have a problem getting kills or staying alive then assassin is super valuable, but it doesn't help you play better.
Am I the only one who is having connection issues with Cold War since the latest Warzone patch (from yesterday)? The loading time to connect to the online servers takes super long and it also takes some time for the daily challenges to appear in the menu.
I used to always use assassin but changed to gear head for the extra field upgrade but I only did that for bonus points looking like I need to go back to assassin
Assassin IMO would be really op if we went back to the old score system since you could stop someones complete streak instead of just stopping their progress for a short amount of time since you dont lose progress now
Depending on the class setup that I'm using, I'll run assassin in order to earn my lethal scorestreaks quicker. Other times I'll usually run other tier 2 perks like quartermaster to recharge my stimshot along with gearhead to charge my prox mine faster.
@@CT3LA It kinda takes 11 seconds to recharge so I use the quartermaster perk in my tier 2 slot alongside assassin or scavenger so it can recharge easier.
I know cod isn't really based around the perks and focuses on guns more but they really should add more perks especially in tier 2 cuz all those perks are meh. How about one like "water borne" or "Seal" that completely removes you from the mini map when in water. Addition you can see through water easier and swim faster. Not the best I know but most maps have water and this only took me a minute so its not gonna be great.
@@ReboyGTR I'm shooting down every UAV within 2 seconds anyway. Yea it does suck when you are about to flank and the second you get at their corner an enemy UAV goes up. But at the same time it kinda works out when they come to pack man your dot so you end up ambushing them anyway.
Underrated pro: this perk let’s you know if you just killed someone on a big streak which usually means they will call in a killstreak after they spawn. I try to get inside after a kill like that cause I know I’m about to get killed by the sky lol
Watching your video while drinking some coffee and realized watching the background that there was a lot of pop in of the foliage in the scenery outside the map. Not gameplay breaking but it kinda bugged me while I was watching
None of the other tier 2 perks are really that important, and I typically don't go on long enough streaks to get use of scav, so assassin is by far the most valuable tier 2 for me
Assassin is easily the best tier 2 perk. Scavenger isn't needed because you can run assault pack. Assault pack plus assassin gives you so much extra points.
This always looked like the worst perk to me. I started using this after this video, and it does make a big difference. I was getting my attack chopper almost every game after this. The attack chopper isn't all that great in this game, but still cool. Cold blooded makes pretty much all score streaks useless.
i think gearhead is the best tier 2 b/c it allows you to literally black out the map with jammers OR always have a field mic up after the initial charge time. Both of which are bonkers strong atm. Flak jacket's brokeness guarantees noone runs engineer or willingingly uses it. I think the likelihood in streaks from the field mic or jammer far outweighs assasin!
@@stealthiscool yes but it isn’t as people expect. For example, most people think if they earn 10,000 score they’ll get 10,000 xp which isn’t the case. Cold Wars leveling system is the same as all previous cods.(as of now, but on release of the game they tried something different that didn’t work and have reverted it back)
The description of it in-game is so vague and underwhelming that most people (like me) have largely ignored it as yet another almost useless slot 2 perk.
I have run assassin on overclass ever since I figure out how much extra score it gives you. I was very confused as to why no one else noticed this. It's literally free score.

Stimshot recharges anyway though, you don't need a perk for that...
@@CT3LA It kinda takes 11 seconds to recharge so I use the quartermaster perk in my tier 2 slot alongside assassin or scavenger so it can recharge easier.
Had no idea! I might actually switch to this perk!
I use assassin with ammo pack and you can rack up the points quick and get score streaks multiple times
I knew it have bonus score for killing players on streaks but i had no idea the score went up as their streak went up that's super useful to know
I hope we get a video on T3 perks. Learned a lot this video
I never really knew it gave you so much score for a 2x streak. I always used scav and or quartermaster, might have to switch it up.
I have always loved assassin since launch ❤
You can stack this with the ammo crate as well? The ammo crate gives you bonus score too.
I’ve been using assassin since launch and I love it
*Assasin and Tracker*
For when you really wanna find people.
laughs in spycraft
@@NopeD And give up Ghost or Ninja?
@@ReboyGTR I'm shooting down every UAV within 2 seconds anyway. Yea it does suck when you are about to flank and the second you get at their corner an enemy UAV goes up. But at the same time it kinda works out when they come to pack man your dot so you end up ambushing them anyway.
@@ReboyGTR Jammer spam + enemy UAVs are good for about 1 scan due to how anti-air mad my team usually is
Underrated pro: this perk let’s you know if you just killed someone on a big streak which usually means they will call in a killstreak after they spawn.
Ive loved ran this perk since day one. Its awesome!
People actually thought it only did the crosshairs on your mini map?...... well that’s embarrassing 🤦♂️
It’s nice for high kill streaks rlly good for objective game modes wouldn’t use in tdm or search
Ace, Does it count toward weapon xp?
i'm here for the answers :)
:)
No it only counts towards in game score
@@Lupo333x Getting a higher score will go towards match bonus no?
@@stealthiscool yes but it isn’t as people expect. For example, most people think if they earn 10,000 score they’ll get 10,000 xp which isn’t the case. Cold Wars leveling system is the same as all previous cods.(as of now, but on release of the game they tried something different that didn’t work and have reverted it back)
I’ll be honest - I didn’t know anybody wasn’t using this perk. I have it on every single class.
The description of it in-game is so vague and underwhelming that most people (like me) have largely ignored it as yet another almost useless slot 2 perk.
I think assassin is underrated. I have used it since i got perk greed when the game first came out
I knew about how it works, but I've never noticed that the bonus score varied based on the score streak level.
I have run assassin on overclass ever since I figure out how much extra score it gives you. I was very confused as to why no one else noticed this. It's literally free score.
Assassin perk an the Ammo Pack together even more points
I’ve been using assassin with gear and when u run war machine and vsat u can get high killstreaks almost every game
I'm assuming if one passively plays with assassin while not actively searching for those with streaks, I can see your argument making sense.
Ha! i been using this over most perk 2 for so long those extra points help so much
You just convinced me to start using this perk more
I've used it since launch because it was just extra exp while I was unlocking weapons and attachments
Learned the bonus applies if you see the crosshairs or not so thanks.
