Thanks for the Video .. Reaper Just continues to Impress!!! .... Constant Gain links the Threshold and Brick wall ceiling controls so that as you "crunch down" on the track with the Threshold the Ceiling adjusts accordingly the overall gain of the track remains the same. ..
One reason why one might want this as far as I've researched would be to hear the effects of a certain degree of limiting on the "quality" or 'flavour" as far as distortion introduction into the track is concerned. This can be done at a volume where better qualitative decisions can me made without being biased by the change in volume at least for us with lesser trained ears. Then I suppose it could be unlinked and brick wall re adjusted or increased accordingly. Hereby "limiting" it just enough so that sound signature is maintained just at a higher volume.
(editied) Another reason, I think, to use Constant Gain on the Realimit plugin would be as a "distortion" plugin, if that makes sense, to introduce the type of distortion associated with limiters as an "effect" without raising the overall volume of the track. (Rock Vocals or maybe Electric Guitar Track) .. As far as I've found there may be many different ways to achieve an effect or outcome . I guess it could be likened to a Chef in the kitchen,
Mind you I am far from a professional (9 months into it with no background really, and not a musician I just mainly use Reaper for editing Dialogue and have been recently been playing around with Solo Vocals ( Mainly my own acapella singing). Excuse the terms used but I hope what I said makes sense (I stand corrected also) and that the Idea was communicated well enough.
PS: your Home setup is probably what my "dream" studio setup would look like if I ever find the budget. 😉 Cheers!

This is definitely useful to know, I will find reasons to use this combination.

As someone who records hypnosis this is helpful in that I only need the limiter for my snaps! Very helpful information though, thank you! 🤩💖
