Lucky Catch! KCS SD70ACe on CPKC 231 in London

It was a holiday Monday in Ontario, which meant that most stores were closed for the day. Fortunately for me, the microbrewery that was within walking distance of my home was not such a place. I honestly wasn't even giving trains a thought as I made my way down their for a couple of take out beverages, as the mid afternoon is usually a pretty dead time on CPKC around here. I did check the signal as I crossed the tracks (of course); but they were dead.
As I was making my way back home, the gates dropped for what had to be a westbound train. I was still a fair distance from the tracks; so you can imagine me jogging closer while trying to carry a bag of beer and turn on my phone at the same time... I made it; but just barely. You can see through the video how I picked my spots until I could gradually get trackside for the end of the train. Apologies to all for the tilted angle at the outset. I'd never filmed with a six pack of beer dangling from my camera hand before - it really throws off one's balance.
The result was a great surprise catch of CPKC 231 on a late departure out of London. CP GEVO power was leading, with a nice KCS SD70ACe trailing as the second unit in the consist. Again, unexpected catches are usually the best.
