But you have an incredible talent and using it to revisit songs we know is the best way to please everybody. You're fantastic ! Keep going, keep rockin' ! Tuning in every day from France ! I got a blonde '76 Tele for my birthday in 1983. It weighs a ton. I hated the pups so I installed a set of Seymour Duncan Vintage Telecaster pups. HUGE IMPROVEMENT.

Not usually a fan of 70s Fenders - I've always thought they sounded too 'glassy' for some reason...but DANG, to my ears, this is one of the best Teles I've ever heard!!
Great demo Mike. Loved the American Girl rendition ... first saw Tom Petty play that at a Cardiff (Wales) Students Union gig on June 17 1977. The support act was a then little known outside of Ireland punk band called The Boomtown Rats, featuring a young Bob Geldof on vocals.

I'm such a sucker for Telecasters! Have been looking at someone selling an apparent 1977/1978 Telecaster body - seems mostly legit, but I think some of the pickups/components have been switched out. Either way it's still so very tempting. Would love to get one with some history to it.
