  • Learn how to configure an AT2-5 digital controller from LAE Electronic. This controller features three relays, which are often set to run fans, a compressor and a defrost control schedule.
This video explains the main programming parameters for this controller, including how to set the third or auxiliary relay for a defrost schedule. This includes how to set the defrost type, frequency, end temperature, drip time and duration.
Other configuration settings include set point temperature and limits, compressor settings, fan settings, door alarms and light controls.

Hi Hawco. I was wandering is there a controller capable of defrosting triggered by evaporator temperature...I'm thinking water heating for radiant floor...

      Hi Antonio
It depends on the temperature you are hoping to achieve but you can set a LAE AT2-5 controller to switch off by either time or by temperature, whichever is reached first.
For example, the two parameters you would need are:
The DLI parameter which controls the defrost end temperature
The DTO parameter which controls the maximum defrosting duration
If you need any further advice on a specific application, email technical@hawco.co.uk and we will try to help you.

How can set the thermostat at a temperature of 37.5 ...I can't set the temperature to a comma

      Hi Mohamed
The parameter you want is SCL.
With SCL set to “2: This means that a decimal point is not present (ie “20 deg c”)
With SCL set to “1”: This means that a decimal point is present. This now means that what was once “20 deg c is now 2.0 deg c”
However, if you ever change the SCL parameter from “2” to “1” (or vice versa) please ensure you check all the parameters as they will all be affected - ie HYS (hysteresis) was “05 deg c” is now “0.5 deg c” automatically!!
      Hope that makes sense.

@@HawcoCoUk..Thank you very much for your reply- I understand that if I put HYS at 1.0 and SP at 38 ° C this might give me an average temperature of about 37.5 ° C

      Dear Mohamed
Setting HYS to “1.0” is too small a tolerance for the controller and probe to read unless you are using a K-type / J-type thermocouple.
If you are using an NTC or PTC thermistor, you should increase HYS to at least “2.0”.
      Hope that helps.
