They're well worth it! If you're getting the motorsports pack they come with a selection of stick on mounts as well as the suction cup, but you can pick them up on e-bay too. The shots where I've got it mounted on the left side of the bike (as in the resolution test video) are on the suction cup, which is strong enough to lift my topbox with 20+Kg in it, the rest are all on the sticky mounts which work well. Alternatively a mate's getting some good push bike videos using a chest harness.
Not enough water around here to justify one :D Is the white bit of the bow smooth enough for a suction mount? If so take a look at RAM mounts, some of those suction jobbies are very strong
Heh Chris. Since the new engine was installed, have reduced the area of the nozzle by about a third. Top speed has reduced slightly, but it now planes slower, has far better steering response and uses less fuel! It'll still do 80kmh, which is fast enough.. :) Also recently took the screen off - the old camera mount was on the screen, which is why these few vids are hand held... When are you getting one?
I should have an HD GoPro arriving in a few days time, complete with suction mount. Had enough of VGA video - need HD now! I saw your GoPro resolution test - you'll need to tell me how to use it. :) Might build a little tripod/tower about a foot tall to mount it on - save the suction mount for somewhere else.
