Her entire album gave me such Amy Winehouse and Lauryn Hill vibes and I am absolutely enthralled! The musicality is just next level; the lyrics and how she plays with words to paint such vivid imagery is seriously top-tier. I sometimes pause on tracks that seem too much to handle in terms of its visual because I get taken aback by how vulnerable she has made herself in this album. This makes "My 21st Century Blues" hard to listen to. But this also makes it such an amazing album. I can't rate it enough; it's SO GOOD!

Lyrically, Escapism is one of the most impactful songs I’ve heard in a while. It made me cry the first time I heard it at full length while reading the lyrics because it reminded me so much of a dark time in my life. I feel like she was really able to channel that feeling of desperation in her voice that you feel when you’re in that state. It sounds like a cry for help and I’ve never heard anything like it. Chills whenever I listen. Chills.

I'm a big fan of both Raye and Amy Winehouse and it never occurred to me that Raye would be the perfect person to play Amy in a film. Her singing has great range and her voice has some similarities to Amy's cadence..as well as some of her physical features, similar body language and mannerisms..it's crazy good 😮💕
